  1. sweet.. i should be in, if its after the 17th
  2. I've been having a couple of issues with my car stalling too, but just recently. Seems to have only happened in the colder weather. One really bad batch of fuel from somewhere i don't usually go made it especially bad... But it was ok after that tank was gone. I reckon water has washed into the petrol tank under the ground at the petrol station. Happened in melbourne heaps (of times). It could also be that I reset the ecu, and its cold start thingo went a bit dicky as it never got to tune itself to colder temps.. as it runs fine in warm weather.
  3. lol - i just realised how hard it is to actually take a picture of your own back! this is about the best i could get..

    Chasers Tuning

hey what ever happened to their gazillion gigawatt car that was meant to be at autosalon? I think i missed it in the list there..
  5. like Roy said - any R32 is pretty tough. I have taken out out my stock R32 on the track once so far (on a hot 37 deg track temp day), and it stayed fine and to be honest I don't think its heating up the oil or water any worse than a sit in traffic or squirt up the mountains. People are too scared about their cars blowing up. I'd be going out there first and seeing which items you think are letting the car down, and which bother you - rather than doing it all first, and not knowing which things *you* are prepared to spend the money most on. Of course it could be *better* to have all the options there but you're not going to end up spinning off the track or anything. Depends how much ego you care about. p.s. roy has a worrying brake fettish I have been noticing for a while.. soon he is going to be running F1 brakes on his R32, and then looking for "that next step up"
  6. I don't see why they wouldn't? You have to convince the public for further powers and action. You can't just go on tv and air your own ad segments "stop the hoons" and pay for that out of police funds (of which there is little, and every dollar has to be accounted for). So there are more intelligent ways to do things these days. You have to give reasons as to why, and actual examples, faces, and events to convince the public that more should be done. These shows are ready and willing package up that nice and concise format, and a pursuading format that comes right after the news bulletins that a large number of people watch. And they rate. Its cheaper to slip first hand reports, and "where to look for troublespots" to these shows, rather than be seen to be doing it directly. And it costs them nothing, and is probably very effective. There is a police media liason team for a reason. I'd disagree there. There is not much of that sort of material in the media, and to be seen to do so is often seem as "cop bashing" and bad for public perception - the media gets a major rapping if they **** things up, so often its not worth the rsik. There is a few tiddles but by then most of it has broken major enough news to be universal. If there was more "open slather" to investigate these things by the media, I think a lot of things would be uncovered. Then again, you could say that exactly about the car "hoons" with cars obviously worth a lot more than any 20 year old imbicile could legitimately afford. Sure many have parents that support them, and work hard, but its not all of them.
  7. personally, after listening to my system in the car after a week or so, I'd still greatly prefer a couple of speakers for rear, even if they are very basic and not high end ones. The sound appears to come much more "around" you, and I like that effect. Just like at home I prefer 4 speakers powering my music at the one time.
  8. yes, about $200 more, as you need 4x intrusion bars, rather than just 2x in the coupe. anyhow, best off asking them, rather than asking us who don't even work at a compliance place :-s
  9. I'd just chop your stock one and see how it looks, after that spend the money on a new front bar that has more room, then again thats probably another $1000 there getting one and getting it painted (can think of better things to spend that money on). Thing is people go for the largest, fattest intercooler that they can find, which makes mounting it a bitch. Fact is you don't need anything near that large unless going over 400hp or so. Or they get a massive intercooler, and then half of it is covered up by the bar anyhow
  10. I've seen a couple of commodores in Thailand.. It was a few years ago now, but saw a VN, and I think a VK or so. lol, the australian cars these days aren't too far behind the japanese.. in fact we'd probably have quite a few faster drag rotaries and things than they would. I heard a while back (may have just been an urban myth) that HKS, or Trust or one of those companies had taken delivery of a turbo XR6, and were having a bit of a play to see the potential. Never really heard much about it after that.
  11. Well i'm on the goldcoast.. I've got a laptop.. and have been interested in these cables for a while... even better!
  12. make sure it has, and you have access to the original copy of the vehicle import approval.. there are some old threads on compliance workshops around S.E. QLD..
  13. Well I had a bit of a go at building my own yesterday, in similar style to the TK grille above. Doesn't look too bad if you ask me (car is filthy.. damn spot rain!).. The only thing I'm not happy about is that the mesh I got isn't as fine as I would have liked.. so sometime I'll try and track down some finer mesh. Painted the latch black, and the mesh also, and made up a couple of brackets. Forgot to paint the screws, will do that soon.
  14. Well under NSW law it looks like you are screwed.. but under VIC and QLD law, aftermarket exhausts are perfectly legal, provided they comply with the legal noise limits (and emissions I guess too), both for EPA and whatever other stupid thing the cop is worrying about. I pulled through the full EPA test in melb, with a Super Dragger II system on my old r33 no probs.
  15. Where else? http://www.nengun.com/catalogue/product/575 I think its more like a titanium composite with stainless to get the looks and weight/strength of both.. droooool
  16. I was more getting at what Myth33 is saying above.. I know you can get them if you pay enough, but there are not too many places that sell them locally, and not too many that I know about that don't do it for stupid markups (read autobarn). I'd be happy to go for a 2nd hand ones, but trying to find a 2nd hand brand R32 exhaust is impossible (and if its not, I'd like some contacts ).. They're heavily skewed towards R33 stuff, as that is what the majority is out there. Yeah, I have seen the Trust Titanium ..mm.. $1100 from Japan is a great price for titanium I was looking at that, but then you have to allow for import duty, GST, etc.. But then again, most local "premium" local places will charge that sort of price, and it won't be anything near titanium..
  17. first thing you need to do is crawl under and get the model number off the box...
  18. lol.. 1 more awkw than IWIN scored to beat the old record..
  19. probably around 150-200,000km.. like many of the more worn ones..
  20. I have a standalone box to suit 12" sub. Box is professionally made in thick MDF, with no gaps, and carpetted in quality black carpet. Its a wedge shape. Ext dimensions are 390mm high x 300mm topx 410mm edge x 400mm bottom x 410mm width. Internal volume is 1.6 c.u feet Will fit nicely in the boot of R33, and that is what it was built for, but too large for R32// hence why I'm selling I'm on the goldcoast.. Can provide pix to anybody interested. Asking $50 Quality build! Pickup only.. postage is not viable for price.
  21. Well obviously you guys have previous issues with each other Anyhow.. mine is in the car now, its nothing flash, but better than factory, and better than a few systems I've heard: JVC G-405 mp3/cd unit Jaycar 250w rms monoblock amp Alipine SWS-1241D, DD 12" sub Custom 12" subbox I built for above (too big for r32 though ) Focal Access 165A's I would like to dust off my very old Sony amp (2x 75wRMS) and run a pair of the speakers, rather than the factory unit at some point.. its powering my rear computer speakers atm Also want to get a pair of fairly cheap speakers for rear fill (probably the new jaycar's when they come out), and get a smaller subbox, so i can fit it in the boot rather than back seat! That will do, I have a lot of other things on the car I want to spend the money on.. Too much bass gives me a headache anyhow, and doesn't really suit about 80% of the music I listen to.
  22. Well if a company is involved in building racing systems, and has built exhaust systems for drag, circuit, and across to things such as bikes and boats for many years, I am sure they also know a little something about r&d and getting a good performing system over the years Some companies just build a system that is 3", etc and will fit the car, I am sure they progressed beyond that level quite a few years ago to getting the most out of the system. And their split pipes have proven that I think to most that have looked at them. I am half interested in a cat-back sysetm from them if its only $200 or so more (it might be too much more ) than a cheaper system as they look to know their stuff, I'd prefer to go with them.. will see how it goes. I should call them and get a price. The other thing, with R32 you are a little limited by choice, there just aren't many bolt-on HKS/trust/etc units available for R32 anymore.. unlike r33 where there are still a large number of systems available.
  23. if you want to ask about configuration and "what do you have" setup wise - use another thread..
  24. predator

I was making a point about pointless threads It worked.. lol .
