  1. sounds like you want one for below what they are worth, in the perfect colour, and perfect condition, and in VIC.. you might be looking for a while.
  2. conrad.. you do have to solder them/build them together yourself.. anyhow, wake up monkeyboy!!! none of this talking about a group buy and then disappearing again!
  3. I can't see the money being the major issue, if you have a regular job. Afterall, many will spend $2000+ on a set of crappy looking chromies, or an equal amount to play playstation in their car. I don't quite understand that most of the time, especially doing it to a "performance" car. But when you're that age, it's all about partying and impressing ur mates or the girls. I think the main problem is probably similar to QLD.. a large number of the skyline owners you see are still living at home, and only able to afford the car living off their parent's back. They're not really willing to risk it.. and they don't like / don't want to learn how to work on their own cars if something goes wrong (or are well off enough to afford garage rates everytime they blow something). Soon as they move out of home, its back to more sedate transport, or they've moved onto other things like buying a house, or popping out kids.
  4. red r34 2door.. i think that older guy that used to be on here, down ashmore.. white r33.. down parkwood.. a grey r32.. prolly more skylines i missed looking at today..
  5. Aus Tyre n' wheel can supply.. price they quoted me was $240 a tyre.. I got em 2nd hand for about 1/2 that. That was only for 16's though.. So they aren't the cheapest, but they are a Falken dealer..
  6. you can do an resistance check as well on each one with a multimeter.. details are in the service manual..
  7. anyhow, that is the main thing dude.. your car.. heaps of other people will like 'em and like that look (consideirng the amount of cars up here and in sydney with that look).. so wouldn't worry about us whingers..
  8. PITS.. yellow pages.. use it
  9. i changed my rears as they didn't have the markings.. in the end the tyres I bought didn't have the E-rating markers either, but they were sold locally.. lol.. engineer passed them without any fuss. but this was up in QLD
  10. try chris rogers, I've heard he is meant to be excellent and offers reasonable prices.. http://www.soundoff.net.au/shop/ he's even on this forum occasionally
  11. lol.. your old clutch didn't look too healthy though cubes there is some good info on stockists and part numbers and all the rest at www.xtremeclutch.com.au - it is the same clutch for R32 and r33 I am not sure whether just to just get an exchange on the old one when i do the manual conv, or go for something else.. like the Excedy.. which i really liked on the old car.
  12. does it have the clutch fork attahed? I will give $40 for clutch fork and boot if still ok..
  13. when torquing important items such as the head, do these allow you enough leverage to be able to successfully apply the required torque? I have to buy one at some stage as well, so some useful info here
  14. boost cut can be removed on the factory ECU during reprogramming, that wouldn't be a problem. good question as to what limitations there are on the stock ecu... not sure whether there are too many in Australia that have really push the boundaries. I haven't heard of too many run much more than about 230rwkw with a remapped ECU. But whether that is because they tend to get sick of reprogramming it so manually (and it gets expensive), or other inherit limitations?
  15. yeah, i was wondering whether he meant that one.. personally I'd just turf out the whole motor and rear wiper altogether.. mine is stuffed.. probably what I will do.
  16. sounds like with those few mods, it may take a few times for workshops to tinker and get the best settings and setup for what you are after. You might decide the turbo isn't doing what you like it to, and put another one, or you change wastegates, or a number of factors. Each time that chip has to be reprogrammed. What I'm saying, is that if there are a number of things that need doing overtime, the most cost effective option would be a different aftermarket ecu early on.
  17. I'm after a bonnet latch to suit R32 GTR bonnet.. If you have one, let me know..
  18. its just a flat nut with a taper on it and 8mm thread.. i have probably got a few just lying there in the garage.. in fact .. here you go.. bronze, silver.. take your pic. checked and they fit the wiper fine.. trade you a liver for it OR just go to Repco or Supercheap.. they have packets of lots of things like that on a large stand. This is where the bronze ones came from (they were "Champion" brand - as I have the plastic packet here).. just look for something that has an M8 thread and you will be fine.
  19. why is the factory R34 cooler silver then? and the earlier ones are black?
  20. It just doesn't suit the car.. the rims give more attention than the car itself.. that is not the way its meant to be..
  21. The rubber hose runs under the petrol tank I believe, which is angled behind the back seat, then to the metal line. Have a look at the back of the fuel tank, and if I remember correctly you can see where the rubber line comes out. You will have to block the line with something whilst you replace the hose to save petrol flooding out. A bit of petrol will come out, but it won't be buckets.
  22. bunnings would have such nuts.. why do you need a specific skyline one?
  23. I am up for one now.. sold car, have cash.
  24. Like I said IT IS NOT ILLEGAL IN ALL STATES. In Victoria now, this is illegal.. Used to be able to be done, can't do it now. It is to stop cars like common aussie delivered cars, i.e. WRX'es getting done dodgy. Buying a stolen recovered one wrecked one for $2k at auctions, buying a complete car from Japan for $10k.. swapping stuff over, selling for $20k. If there were no processes in place everybody would be doing it. Obviously it's different in NSW.. Calm down ..
