yes, they were available with only RB20DE.. or was it even RB20E - the japanese "taxi" spec, or close to it.. Well the RB25 will have Nissan 2500 on the cam cover, the RB20 won't.. you'll also notice that the RB25det has "kinks" at the back of the cam covers.. the RB20 doesn't. Note that both of those items may be swapped quite easily... check the engine number, down bottom left the block (will need torch).. starts with rb20.. it's an rb20..

predator replied to Demon's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)

R32 and R33 differences in cooling systems?
predator replied to West's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Well I don't know, but my R32 (only gts-t) has the extra electrical fan backup on the front.. today i drove about 200km in fairly stop/start traffic in about 32 degrees and had no problems. I've never had one of my skylines even get close to overheating in normal traffic duties with the stock setup still in place when it is functioning correctly, even on high 30deg days. It's a good system when it works. West: I believe you should still have the backup fan on GTR.. Obviously, it's probably pretty common that the extra fan is removed in japan (like my old 33). The extra fan should come on above 90deg.. if you don't have it then it's possible. From reading, I think the GTR also relies on the outside air temperature sensor to turn on the aircon fan. Check/or swap in another to test whether that is the issue.. The aus R32 GTR service manual has some trouble shooting info on thermostats and the like .. Cubes: interesting.. the kick in temp for the extra fan is 90degrees also.. maybe if it detects the extra fan is not operating it automatically buzzes on the "overheat" light?? -
anybody would say a GTR is fragile

depends what else you combine it with, but in most situations I've heard it's safe See at the bottom of my thing it says Photos: 81, you can view a whole heap of useless photos.. Filesize limits are large, etc.. and it even gives u the VBB link to use to include it inline in a post such as:

errr... so is this cool place called SKYLINES AUSTRALIA.. it has this AMAZING gallery function that nobody knows how to use, even though it's incredibly simple to use.. You click "Menu" up the top and "Gallery" and it's amazing!!

could quite likely be a dead/dying power steering rack... have a look under there and see whether you can see any oil around the rack boots. Also try pulling the tie rods and see whether there is any play in them.
-
you should get no engine noise whatsoever on an R33 if your cabling is wired correctly, even with relatively cheap face unit. Just try moving your wiring around. Otherwise quite likely to be the amp. Is it sitting near the fuel pump in your boot??

You have checked the tyres and made sure there is no abnormal tyre wear on the very inside, etc I hope? Also just rotating the tyres may make a difference. Tyres can sometimes develop lumps in them if there was an error during manufacturing.

Help with rb25 conversion in r32...
predator replied to makaveli's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
guys, most of the info has already been covered.. and some of you have even posted in the same threads! http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=54983 http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=53377 disco: i had a quick search and couldn't find myself.. but from what I remember being posted, for the sender you basically use the RB26dett top and screw into the standard bottom -
Semi slick question.
predator replied to Abo Bob's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
same.. I've installed a set on my 32 GTS-T and they're awesome road tyres. Through the mountains barely would lose the tail, even at quite silly speeds. And that is with a stock suspension setup. Will have to see how they go with a bit more power through them to adequately get an overall comparison. We'll also see how they go on the track in about 2 weeks. Whilst R compounds are great for the track, you really do want something that gives you more than 10,000km in general use. You'll feel every bump of the road with the RT215's though.. and you'll also hear them quite a lot.. I dub them "stone throwers" .. -

You suck.. mine has blown fuses.. removed belt and probably seized compressor (hence why they removed the belt I would say).. I'm so glad I got that aircon exemption

R33 GTS25t Auto Vs R34 GT-T Auto?
predator replied to Myth33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Other than the R34 having a more advanced auto box (helping snappier gear changes).. and slightly newer engine otherwise I would have though they would have been very similar in most situations. They both run a 2.5L, with the Neo version having a small few enhancements. The R34 seems to respond better to the usual modifications in terms of power. 1/4 mile times are very similar though from what I've seen mod for mod compared to R33. -
Being stock as they come, my R32 appears to have a speed warning, which seems to chime on dead past 110km/hr. It's half broken I think so it sounds like a little bird is dying in there. Basically how can I remove it? Where can I find it? It appears to be coming from under the dash, but bit hard to check under there whilst trying to successfully travel 110km/hr.. thanks.

What would you classify an HR31 as?
predator replied to 0HR-30T's topic in Classic & Vintage (1950's-1980's)
Yeah.. I admit I love both the HR31's .. but to be honest, if it came down to a choice between R32 or R33 and HR31, I'd take the R32 all the time. I have a Passage and R32, and they both have silvertops...the Passage is over 200kg heavier than the 32, and there is a big difference in the handling - it is nowhere near as nimble or point and shoot. The R32 feels like a sports car when you sit in it, and drive it - whereas the HR31's have a pretty different feel. The Passage is very cool in it's own right, but more of a cruiser for the streets, not the track or the mountains. Might have good potential for drift though. -
:werd: and more :werd: couldn't agree more! my car will be out there on the 15th.. but yeah, spots are still available. so get in. The first day can be up around the $200 mark, but after that it's really just the cost of entry and the petrol for the day. Which is some of the biggest thrills you can have with your pants on - and it's all perfectly safe with near minimal chance of hitting something. your car doesn't have to be a rocket ship, or be perfectly setup for the track, it's just about going out there and seeing what you can do.

no drunken coppers.. anyhow, I had a good night.. My itch is scratched. the pos stock auto even held up better than I thought.. o/d off, power button on ..accelerator down.. bit disappointed there weren't more of a turnout.. you organise something and people don't show for the fun Smaller numbers made it better in some ways anyhow.

Seatbelts
predator replied to lukew105's topic in Importing, Compliance, Modification Laws & Regulations
As far as i know.. all R32 already have a lapsash? that is from behind the shoulder to the buckle, and across the stomach. except for the middle which just goes across? But mine was rego'ed as a 4 seater, so didn't have to worry about it. I had to change mine, even though they were exactly the same practically.. the others just had a little ADR marking on it.. and you lose your seatbelt warning detector -
last bump.. well i have updated the first post with the new meet spot. Those that show, will see you there, those that don't I won't
