  1. great info there.. I need something around the 450hp mark, but at this rate, won't be for a few months Will this be a regular thing, or just a once off group buy?
  2. bark.. it's nothing to do with server load, it's to do with server optimisation methinks. if overclockers can run fine VBB with some 500+ users on at any one time, see no reason why it can't here. There configuration is just a Athlon 2800MP dual processor system with 1.5gb RAM... and another P4 3ghz w/ 1gig.. very basic in today's terms... you could pickup such systems for under $1k.. I'm willing to pay a donation again to get more speed..
  3. i think that is the crappest thing you've ever posted nismo_slayer
  4. ok.. did a scout around and bit of a test run last night.. got a good little route which is hell fun.. meet spot is also getting changed to opposite the Grand Hotel as no point sticking to BWCP.. There is a carpark there in front of a Seafood place which can hold a few cars.
  5. Most definitely.. If the cops set up a booze station about 5 mins from my house, they would catch about 4 out of 5 people coming out of the club near where i live for drink driving. They're all oldies or bogans, they've been to the pokies, and they're going to come out sloshed. This is evidenced by the amount of burnouts on exiting the place by meatheads in their V8's. Cops could book about 20-30 cars a night just on the burnouts, and then there is the noise (which most seem to exceed any skyline I've heard) but of course they don't.
  6. I'm just going to scout around tonight and see whether I can find another suitable meet spot, and check out a few other things. Don't think it will be huge numbers, but that could make it more fun
  7. meh, it works i guess.. just sounds pissy..Anyhow, pretty much finished mine. If you have a bunch of plugs in there (like mine), they'll probably be for the double DIN, amp, stacker, or whatever else was in there once upon a time. The only one you'll need to really worry about will be the big flat one, which is like one plug seperated into two sections - one with 6 pins, the other with 4 (only 2 filled with pins). Here is the wiring: Blue/red - Illumination wire (12v on lights on). Most stereos this is not needed, but useful if you want to tap off for a boost gauge light or something Blue (4 pin side) - 12v accessories (i think it's either that or 12v constant) Yellow - 12v constant (or accessories, see above ) Brown - Front Right -ve Black/Red (below the brown) - Front Left +ve Blue (6 pin side) - Front Left -ve Black/White - Front Left +ve Black/Red (below yellow) - Antenna boost. Connect this to your antenna/amp control wire. After a bit of experimentation, this *does* in fact boost the amount of channels I could get, so a good idea connecting this up.
  8. I'm just halfway through transferring my old head unit into my current car.. The only problem is that I'm hardly getting any volume out of the speakers. Think they are stuffed (factory ones), or just play at low volume.... Is there any solution for this, other than new speakers? I tend to get that problem with any factory speakers and this deck until i put new ones in, and then it's all fine Just cut off the aerial plug and put the new one.. seems to get reception ok. Haven't connected up the "aerial booster" wire at all - sure its required?
  9. you can also look at the other people giving him a trader rating. If they all have a trader rating of (0)'s themselves, then it pays to be suspicious. I do that when looking at traders. You just have to delete people like that when spotted.. They'll soon get sick of the effort and stuffing around to keep creating accounts and make it look like they are somebody else. People like doridori can hardly string a sentence together, nevermind trying to pas themselves off as somebody respectable.
  10. well obviously he was breaking the law.. I just don't like propoganda when I see it.. disguised as a news story. Well yes, but if he killed somebody else then you'd have to ask, is it worth the pursuit? The risk of taking lives, just for upholding the law. Even if it was his fault, put under the adrenaline he is more likely to screw up when pursued. It's happened many times in NSW, and many innocent people have been killed. All they need to do is get the plates, and make a knock at his door the next day. I don't see why they have to be pursued there and then?
  11. Most probably, that is unless the dude stuffs up, and kills himself, then there is the outcry and they have to do all the proper investigation.. Thing is a 250kw+ silvia is probably going to pull away from a pursuit boat fairly easily anyhow. Unless the engine blows up That just made a good story because they actually caught somebody. The amount of times that they don't is a lot. "street racer successfully runs away from cops" hardly makes the front page of the news.. for obvious reasons..
  12. Well go find out.. At least now that somebody has posted his address, he can't hide in anonymity for his actions
  13. Should be fine on a thursday night though? The big days are Saturday, and possibly Fridays.. thursdays should be a fair bit less crazy. I don't go there, but it's at least large enough to hold a few cars.
  14. Have a standard R32 GTS-T fuel pump with the sock on the end. Was working fine when I pulled it out of my car. Straight fit for R32 GTS-T Offers around $30 to make it worth my while..
  15. problem is people like doridori have a trader rating of like 3.. which to most would probably mean "that seems ok, I'll trade with him". But obviously there are equally as many that have been ripped by him, and that is where it can be a problem. Even if there is just one that has a bad experience, that almost makes them a bad trader automatically. And often a lot of the time, they don't set out to rip everybody else, but there are those traders that just seem to have a suspiciously high problem factor - no matter what the reasons they are the ones that need to be stopped. Many often I would say are simply too stupid or without conscience so some barely even realise they're ripping people off with their actions.
  16. Broadwater Car Park.. http://www.whereis.com.au/whereis/mapping/...andId=1&level=2
  17. This is basically the system that controls idle. Useful for trouble shooting, or at least understanding how the engine handles idling.
  18. This can be found elsewhere, but thought I'd post it here, if anybody is after it...
  19. yeah.. I'd say 90% likely to be AFM. AFM controls idle mixtures, so if it's buggered will blow a heap of black smoke, idle irregularly, etc. A clean might not be enough to fix it. You'll have to try swapping in another one and see if that fixes the problem. I wouldn't bother with the irridiums, and save the dosh towrds the possible new AFM... that is unless you really were thinking of putting irridiums in anyway.
  20. how long before it turns into something like this though? Sydney hit by third night of riots February 28, 2005 - 7:55AM Four people have been arrested during a third night of rioting sparked by the deaths of two teenagers after a police car chase in Sydney. The two teenagers died when the stolen car they were in hit a tree during a police chase at Macquarie Fields in Sydney's south-west on Friday night. The driver of the stolen car, who police say is known to them, fled the scene and has not been found. In the third successive night of clashes, 100 police officers were attacked overnight by 150 rioters who threw Molotov ****tails, rocks and bottles. The officers were first confronted by 100 people while helping firefighters extinguish a car fire in Telopea Street one block from Friday night's accident scene. A further 50 people, most disguised by makeshift head wraps, appeared in Rosewood Avenue, throwing rocks at police. Three officers were injured - one suffered concussion, another was bitten by a police dog and a third fractured his hand. Four people have been arrested, including a 21-year-old man who was charged with rioting and a 25-year-old man who was charged with rioting and carrying an unlawful assembled offensive instrument. AdvertisementAdvertisement The men, who were treated for dog bites, were refused bail and will appear in Campbelltown Local Court. A 17-year-old local youth was charged with affray and was refused bail to appear in Reiby Childrens Court, while another youth was cautioned and released. A 13-year-old boy was detained by police and released into the custody of his mother. NSW police superintendent John Sweeney, from Macquarie Fields, said the situation was tense but police remained in control at all times. "We did not engage this conflict," Supt Sweeney said. "It started in response to a fire, however police were met by two groups within the community who took it upon themselves to hamper police in their work." Dyllan Rayward, 17 and 19-year-old Matthew Robertson were killed when the stolen car they were travelling in ploughed into a tree during a police chase along Eucalyptus Drive on Friday night. Police have defended their actions, saying the officers involved likely followed police pursuit protocol. Emotions flared later that night and the following evening when mourners and other young people attacked police with stones. Supt Sweeney said police understood that members of the local community were still grieving over the deaths. "However, the police must be able to continue to investigate the circumstances of their deaths on behalf of the Coroner and also continue their inquiries," he said. He urged the driver to come forward.
  21. mine snapped off over the weekend as it was dodgy and I pulled it a little too hard in frustration  It's not too much of a worry, as you should be able to open it without it. You just have to get on the ground, reach up underneath and pull one thing one way, and then just push the latch up and it should open. It's fairly easy on an R32 anyhow. May be slightly different on R33..
  22. What the hell were cops doing trying to chase somebody going up to 200km/hr?? Cops should know when to pull off.. What happened if he had spun out and killed himself and others. Innocent bystanders, etc. Sure he shouldn't have been speeding, but it's a lesser of two evils I would have thought?
  23. A car with a fully rebuilt engine, decent turbo (which can be rebuilt), intercooler, etc, etc is a great price for circa $16k Most are asking $15k for a stock R32 GTS-T these days
  24. ABS is a waste of time.. again.. in 10 years of driving I've never had a situation that has called for it.. I've only had to lock the brakes up about once, and that all worked out fine. Likewise, I've never been in a car that has had an airbag that has gone off, but I am sure in an accident if one was there I'd use it but if it's not there then I'm not going out of my way to install one am I ? Of course if you have it, why not.. but I am fine driving any car without it, as long as the brakes work as they are supposed to, there will be no problems.
  25. You will find that it's a bit laggy on the take off, but does pickup around 2500rpm. Then again, I haven't actually found it too bad so far. I certainly wouldn't say it was "bad" or undriveable in everyday traffic. Then again, mine is auto at the moment, which seems to account for much of the lack of the initial push off the line of the manual.. It's a bit better than what I'd expect a stock N/a 2L to be anyhow, which essentially it is until the turbo kicks in. So far if i give it a bit of a casual squirt, it seems to account for most things from a standstill.
