  1. There is a Chiptorque down here in Nerang also.. Didn't think of those guys. I keep associating them in my head with just sticking prepackaged chips into rexes and holdens - but obviously they offer more. $700-$800 sounds a bit scary.. bit cheaper than an aftermarket though, and then u have to pay tuning on top. Guess I better do all the mods b4 sticking the RB25 turbo on the Passage and getting it tuned
  2. this thread is funny.. seriously - if the guy wants to spend money on an intercooler - he is allowed isn't he? People spend $3000 on rims for their car, and yet the engine stays stock but that's their business what they've chosen to spend the money on for their car. Anyhow Pressa, you're best off with both a good intercooler AND a full aftermarket ecu to run your upgraded turbo.. SAFC might work on a larger turbo but you'd really be limiting what you can do with your car for a while, or even the power you are putting. Ultimately you're putting on a larger turbo for more power correct? why limit that? best to wait until you have a little more cash and do it all properly at once. You will save money there too.. one tune, one trip to a garage to get everything fitted, etc. Running a stock cooler with any larger turbo is probably NOT a good idea. It might work on the street, but do you really want to risk your engine or $1500 nicely highflowed turbo on a hot day or something?
  3. can i have the rear strut brace? Hey are u selling those stud converters? Could be useful for the Passage..
  4. token daily post
  5. Well this was 2003 in VIC Rating 1 .. no accidents ever.. 27.. Agreed value of $23k, all mods notified to insurance. $1300 .. thats as low as it gets folks unless you're maybe over 30, and i did shop around at the time.
  6. I'll have to give it a try later.. this was this morning before it went off for compliance.. not to be seen for 3 weeks or so No filter change this oil change.. I even had it sitting there and everything The oil was the sludgiest, smelliest oil I'd ever seen on any car.. good to see the japanese owner treated it with care..
  7. you already asked this like a week ago didn't you and no replies.. Probably because nobody knows of anywhere.. I'd be interested myself, as at the moment I have 2x RB20DET's in my cars and wouldn't mind a bit of a tune around. You could get a dyno chart of "before" (with A/F charts), send it down to either toshi or dr_drift then get it sent back chipped. Cost is usually around $200-$400
  8. think he quit and went home, you're right!
  9. I just don't quite understand it.. it's not adding to the car, it's not impressing anybody that I've ever met.. and often they are nice cars in their own right.. but I don't quite see why.. they even cost money to buy.
  10. why be labelled a knob each time you drive your car around though? is child sex morally right because it's "up to them"
  11. looks like no quittin' time for you!!
  12. Won't that approach just bend through the metal?? Assuming I get dirty great big screwdriver skewered through, it looks as if its more at the point of peeling open the filter, rather than unscrewing it. The metal doesn't look too thick. rumble: that sounds like a gear puller sort of thing.. $65 though - ouch. I got a pretty nifty standard oil standard one that really screws itself down on it, and that wasn't working (worked on so many other cars). Think its the leverage that sucks .. bloody RB20's! RB25 had more room.
  13. Does anybody have any tips for getting off a really stuck down stuck oil filter? I have used one of those clamp things, that you can really tighten the end down.. but I just can't seem to turn it at all. It's an R32, and really difficult to get your hand under the intake manifold to get a proper grip I've even tried getting at it from underneath to see if I could get more leverage, but the steering rack and starter motor are pretty much in the way.
  14. Klippan.. Repco and supercheap can get em.. I think they're the only aftermarket belt manufacturer in australia..
  15. meh.. i want one of THESE
  16. ooo yeah, there are some good areas round there that's forsure..

  20. you know what struttoz - soon as that idea sprung into my head as well, it seems like being a passenger wouldn't be so bad. left my run a bit to late so looks like no lift for me though, so no go.. when i get the black beast on the road I'll plan a cruise though..
  21. man, having no car sux already
  22. There is another guy in Price St, Southport that can do them. I went in there, but really looked like they were just doing it "on the side" and didn't inspire a whole heap of confidence. Their price was $1300 from what I recall. Mine is going into Adrenaline tomorrow They're all pretty busy though.. I expect about 3 weeks if I am lucky
  23. But you can reprogram the stock ecu as well in many cars... I think what Ash is saying.. is you can get a full (expensive) emissions test just for your vehicle, no matter what the mods, as long as it is below the standard levels. I guess after that, any tune would invalidate that (I think I remember hearing some people that did have the full test were required to get their ECU "locked" to the tune it was tested with). This would vary by state though. The reason why they instantly dismiss any aftermarket ECU is that there is no standard yardstick soon as you start tampering with the factory setup. A "S-AFC" could be under, or it could be over depending on the tune.. there is no way of telling without doing the full comprehensive test. It's :bs!: and there would be ways to come up with much quicker verification of mods vs emissions, but obviously there are reasons not to do that from higher up in government.
  24. bah.. back to vic with you monki.. we're just having a little QLD fun.. gtr badges on gtst are lame.. come on.. hey it offends somebody that their car is put in here which happens to mention this topic.. then bah to them.
