  1. I have the crossover - $60 + post.. And an RB25DET turbo.. which can be used in place of the standard T3 unit for similar performance. sent you a PM anyhow.
  2. How's that going to work, what happens when he has to change the rego over? It may be painful, but could well be true. Who is telling you this? a RWC place or NSW transport? If everything is up to scratch, getting another engineer to check it over should only cost $200 or something. May be the only way to do it.
  3. thanx japtaxi.. i'll have another play today.. but photos might help.. No idea.. just think they're expensive. I did hear they had gone up in price recently? maybe that is it.. If there were around $200 each I'd probably go for them over the Yokohamas.. The Yoko's look decent all around performance.. even though I guess the "all round" isn't that important.. i just want grip in the dry and that is it..
  4. some.. see its all "planning", working out in my head first, project plans.. problem is its wrong project hehe.. nah, i been working at the other place 3 days a week, which is enough pay for the week.. the other main project can be delayed a bit
  5. hey will.. do you have GTS-T brakes still on your GTS-T / R ?? Wouldn't happen to have any photos of the brake setup would you with the wheel off, especially around the back of the caliper? Maybe if you have a spare moment you can stick your camera behind there? I need a photo..
  6. ummm...looks like any other toorak garage to be honest oh yeah.. except for Horus' one .. lol
  7. You could well be right as the bolt holes on the m-spec align exactly with those yellow marked bolts. Unfortunately as I couldn't actually get the bracket off, couldn't tell whether it would fit. Thought if it did go in there.. may be a bit far back to actually sit on the disc? Does anybody have any "mpsec" brake pictures for R32.. preferably from behind? Not sure whether the service manuals I have cover brakes
  8. p.s. looking at the conditon of the old you can probably see why I want to change them over.. Also.. my question from this thread is .. how do I remember the actual front hubs? The rears generally you just slip off over the studs.. but the front ones is firmly be held in place. In the last photo you can see the huge bolt (22mm?) off the back, which is covered by a dust bracket. Is this what I have to unbolt to get the old hub off? There is stuff all room to manuver there. So do I have to brace the front of the wheel, whilst using a socket wrench on it? Or do you just bash the hub forward with a rubber mallet?? Unfortunately the damn bracket bolts are going to require a breaker bar or something :-s as they are budged tight. Nearly snapped my 3/8 socket wrench trying to get them off!
  9. This afternoon I had a bit of a play with the brakes, to see how difficult it is going to be to change my single-pot "non-mspec" to "m-spec" 4 piston jobs, and also at the same time change over for the slotted rotors I have picked up. Few things I discovered.. * "M spec" discs are much thicker than the non-mspec.. they won't fit at all with the single-pot calipers due to the width. Basically m-spec and non-mspec I believe are totally different discs... Unless the DBA ones I have are especially wide(??) * The non-mspec and m-spec are same diameter discs. * "M spec" and "non-M spec" pads are totally different. The single pots don't look too much different to the brakes on my R31.. maybe even the same. * It appears as if the brackets for the "M-spec" are different to the non-mspec and means the calipers won't swap over due to the different bolt positioning.. interestingly actually the non-mspec is wider apart.. Looks like I am going to have to track down these brackets - and if they don't fit into the standard hub position don't know what I am going to do :-s * The 4 pot R32 brakes are a curious one.. with pins and clip arrangement actually slipping through the pre-defined holes in the pads to hold them in place (to prevent slippage?). Very strange, never seen this before.. and in my old R33 I believe there wasn't this arragement at all.. the pads just sat in the caliper held firm in place, like any other car I have seen. * Looks like the brake line bolt on the 4 calipers is the same as the single pot caliper. So the brake line at least shouldn't post a problem.
  10. erm.. smash mirror ? remove shards.. take to glass place? I think I may just be going that route
  11. My R32 appears to have an oil leak down near the bellhousing... This is where it appears to be dripping from, but haven't had much of a chance to see whether there is any other source.. why? Stuffed crank seal? causing oil to blow out of the back of the crank and to collect in the bellhousing? Is there a gasket between the block and the bellhousing usually? Its an auto.. but appears to be engine oil.. Any advice thanks..
  12. $378 vs $480.. hmm.. or those GT radials did look ok..
  13. hey cailan.. i went to that aussi type place just on southport-nerang rd.. Their price for the RT215's in 205/55R16's is $240 or 225/55R16 is $260.. getting up there in price.. otherwise next seems to be Yokohoma A539 - they're $189.. or Pirelli P6000's for $200.. but the guy reckons the yoko's are better. i also checked out the GT Radials.. which are $170 each for 205/55R16.. nex: that "action tyres" is just in that same street bit as that GT Radial place.. didn't notice till i saw it and went in
  14. hmm... i think it looks good with the GTR front bar there.. I don't really like the GTS-T stock front ends.. bit dull.
  15. pix please to [email protected] thanx.. will be in melb in about a week or so, and could come check it out..
  16. actually I think I saw a picture of this car posted up previously.. as surprisingly enough somebody elses' ride.. I'm no sherlock.. but hmm .

  19. thanks so much guys.. jax or action tyres sound great and they're close as anything, would prefer somebody who knows turbo cars.. and doesn't try and just sell me whatever they'd stick on the nearest commodore. I will probably go down to them today. I'll probably check out bob jane too.. although I'm not a member  Had dodgy tyres on the R33 and I hated it near the end, I want some pretty good ones this time - especially seeing as this car is not going to be daily driven..
  20. Make a great cheap turbo upgrade for an R32.. Only selling this one because I have another one, and no longer require two.

  24. so many flaws in many arguments.. a) p plates are not displayed up here in QLD at all.. if a similar thing was introduced in QLD how is a police offer meant to determine the age of the driver, other than pulling over all people with modified cars? B) so many people in victoria drive with p-plates clearly displayed on cars that are over the existing power/weight limits which have been in place for donkeys. These cars are registered, insured, and driven by those on p-plates even though those cars are "meant" to be illegal to be driven. c) how do you again, even if p plates are displayed determine which year they are on. In victoria there is no change in the colours over the years.. so pull over *all* p-platers?? (happens anyway, no change there....) so its all smoke and mirrors and just put it place to appease a few.. it will do so for a while, then its the next thing in 12 months there will be the outcry over whatever is the issue then supposedly is "the" reason for continuing horrific deaths on our roads... and the cycle continues. its all politicians games in the end.. to be seen to be doing something, when really doing nothing.
  25. people playing with things behind their back are generally playing with their tail.. beware the hoofed ones!
