  1. and NSW, and WA.. although I think NSW was the first.. All the worst shit in this country originates from NSW Steve has a good point.. bugger me if I'd be stopping and gently pulling over if you thought your car was going to be compounded and sold from underneath you. Its just going to result in worse incidents in some cases. They generally need video evidence though to be able to take the car off you, I think that is what happens up here anyhow.
  2. ferni: good to see it helped... and most of it is applicable to the GTR also.. Not sure what happened to those photos there thats a good price though - unfortunately for me though, natrad no longer really exists in QLD  yeah, want to make sure you get every screw back in the right place, or you'll be regretting the rattles and squeaks for a long time
  3. can somebody post a picture of the setup..
  4. :werd: somestolecc.. maybe you should scale back your drift ambitions... The "cool" ones you see here in Japan are either workshop or heavily sponsorship backed. They are the ones that have the show and go and you go "phwoaa". Most of the jap cars you see over in japan actually drifting you'll never see over here, because they are either too good/expensive, or wouldn't be road registerable in australia (or probably japan for that matter).
  5. well its a nice excuse for younguns when they can't afford the tyres, the car handles like pox, and they keep hitting shit..
  6. looks good.. was this the one you posted with shots in japan and was all dirty in the engine bay? and was meant to have had a "fresh" rebuild. Looks like they've cleaned it up a little since then. Anyhow, looks like a good buy.. enjoy!
  7. ok... this is a silly question.. but in an auto don't you roughtly know when the ECU is going to change gears on load? so can't you tune the ECU to do the correct ignition timing drop or reduction in power at those rev points? If not, why not? actually: edit when i think about it.. whilst not on load or everyday driving, then you'd have a bunch of flat spots - not ideal. Is this correct?
  8. Always wondered this a little.. and discussed this with a few friends on occasion. They've been around for 10 years now, and yet why aren't they that popular as a "tuning car" in japan?? Just wondering some of the exact reasons. Hopefully with some people in the know can tell me exactly why. Is it just the drivetrain - or are there certain restrictions imposed by the boxter engine or otherwise(??) that really stop them being a true japanese "hero" car: such as the EVO, skyline, 180sx, silvia, etc? I know I *have* seen a couple, but its a very very small minority. I mean subaru is a japanese company, "most" (well read: UK, america, Australia) seem to have a big thing about them - so why not the japanese themselves? I have been in a couple of modified ones and never really ticked *my* fancy, but I guess this is just a little irrelevent I thought maybe some of you in Japan may be best placed to answer this question
  9. $17-20k.. if its going cheap its gonna have problems..
  10. Autos are much more common in the sedans, so if you are desperate, get an auto and add the $1500ish for a conversion. Watching recent prices, 89 or so seem to go for about $2-3k more for manual. The sedans currently seem to go for $1-2k less than the equivelent coupe (not as much demand), depending on where you get it. You can just get one for around $10k for 89 fairly stock, but most dealers seem to charge a few $k over that. You're best bet is to import, while its still an option (if you can wait). Otherwise, you're battling the profit takers trying to get a few $ more than they bought it "just because they can". Headroom in the back would probably be a concern in an r32. Going on my r33, 6ft people wouldn't fit comfortably in the backseat due to the head clearance for long periods. Doubt r32 is any better, if not worse considering they cars have less room overall. You could fit 2 people in the back seat though, but again, not much leg room.
  11. yup maybe there should actually be a sticky thread "why dynos don't always tell the truth" with some technical explanations from the more knowledgeable out there..
  12. errr.. who bought the 2nd hand tyres, put on the spacers, and requested they made it fit in the first place?
  13. warwick: somebody needs to turn their brain back *on*
  14. that is all..
  15. setting up a WRX for drift... ..enough said!
  16. yup, I sort of know that - but I was thinking maybe rigga had photoshopped these details out to make it another interesting point of discussion.. which it is already I have noticed this over time the extra details on each printout. As part of their dyno "subscription" (purchase/rental/lease?) are the dyno operators required to get the new software with each update.. or is it optional?
  17. how can you tell that from just the graph v-spec ? photoshop may be involved here
  18. ones a dyno dynamics.. the other is the dynologics.. and lets guess that the dynodynamics might be in shootout mode correct? and maybe has some temp correction thrown in for good measure.. do i get some candy? good pratical illustration though rigga
  19. well i sent mine start of the month and still waiting - neary 17 days already... what a surprise. Hoping it does come the next few days. in better news the car will at least be on the ship and hopefully in australia in about mid-late october.
  20. get an r31...
  21. Looks great to me.. Ok, its not perfect.. but its a 15 year old car.. any oh yeah.. you *don't* want pale green  If its got an RB25det.. even better! :aroused: rb20 can be a bit pokey if you ask me.. Whats the point of getting a perfect car to begin with, you only get worried about every little scratch or whatever anyhow? Who knows what fate will bring anyhow in terms of luck either... Whereas if you start with something that is maybe a little rough to begin with - can only get better from there when you start doing stuff to it and can do it your way. My growing philosophy these days anyhow
  22. how does nengun get such cheap shipping then?? curious...
  23. predator

    Oh dear :/

i'll go against the grain with another idea - cheapest rb25det you can find.. flog the car off, and its not your problem. Your concience may tell you otherwise however
  24. There is probably an energy equation in there related to each cylinder i'm guessing.. and the amount of time that energy remains in the cylinder (which would be controlled by the duration of the cams amongst other things) Unfortunately I forgot my maths nearly 10 years ago freakin computers...
