  1. .. they really should know where the engine number is on an RB! although it can be a bit hard to find I'll admit.. its on the rear left of the block.. right down near the starter motor. yeah, careful on the compliance... but if its registered, it should have the required engineers certificate and/or compliance already. stuff the service history (not many japanese cars do in fact have them, especially that age), stuff the tools, and stuff the spare (remove if needed in VIC is it has to be secured if in the car). Sounds ok to me.. $1000-$2000 might get you a manual conversion and away you go..
  2. but joel, they'll be the ones that get kained.. not generally the SAU population, unless of course they participate in such activites. SA is just following WA, NSW, and QLD where they have had these laws for a while (although i think WA was fairly new). Seems they just copy what sounds ok on paper in the other states. In practice though, the hooning continues, just the idiots out there get caught. Doesnt' really achieve much, and havent really seen it impacting too much locally here. Why just as i'm typing this, somebody in a rex decides they're going to floor it up the hill up our street.. happens 50 times a day.
  3. ... and you'd want to do this because?
  4. but the prices they charge will kill you though, hence why people ask whether its possible to import your own.
  5. there is a comment to be made here, but i will keep quiet
  6. I don't think people realise how much effort or time it takes to actually get a 600+ kw GTR and more importantly, keep it running for a good period of time reliably. haha.. idiots.. well most S13 owners are either tightasses so gotta expect those sort of comments
  7. probably not much.. the r33 series 1.5's seem to sometimes come with a red "s" badge in the grill as well for some reason.
  8. cats are fun..
  9. cyrus: I think the consensus is you need a SAFC - start saving or pimp bennie's ass while he is at home and turn the place into a place of "ill repute"
  10. yes..hey look they even have a novelty doll of him on the site... slidewize imports - http://www.slidewizeimports.com/ can also bid on items for you in japan and ship them over too.
  11. lol.. anyhow, i am outta here.. thanks for the suggestions.. cyrus can read over them in the morning i am sure..
  12. :nods:
  13. on my 400r bar, again the insert was too small (even with slimlines).. Ended up just mounting it by screwing it in front. Still looked good.
  14. well i tried to help.. i think he may need an expert.. although an expert has already suggested coil packs *bzzzztt*
  15. hmm.. now its getting a little scary and "group love" in here :grouphug: yeah.. i'm thinking it might be one of those "wont go away till u can tune the car fully" type things..
  16. This is Ska's ka (oo that rhymes)... nah.. no SAFC .. no nothing - that is why I think its maybe a bit iffy even trying to wind the boost up on that setup. No real sign of audible pinging though. Actually almost seems to be the opposite... could it could be just running a bit rich, flooding the cylinders?? 0.64mm ? interesting... he could try that. I always used to run BCP6RES w/ 0.8mm on the rb25det and never had miss issues 10degrees or 35degrees.. but i did have a big front mount and SAFC. well at least i found out my "spare" coilpacks work.
  17. i'm sure it can be hacked.. even if you have to hack the software itself.. they cant have spent that much on the protection... and even so its only circa early 2000's protection which was always cracked. If Maya and 3d studio and the rest retailing for $10k or so .. have been dongle hacked, so can PFC .. now do we have any russian crackers in the house?? hmm ..
  18. Ok then .. we had a play around a couple of hours ago .. riddle me this: - coil packs swapped for complete other set - spark plugs seem to be "about 0.8mm" (left feeler guage at home - oops) and were all fairly recently replaced.. NGK BCP6RES which i think come out these days stock at 0.8 - no obvious air leaks, split, or disconnect vacuum pipes Which in my mind only could leave? - Timing slightly out (couldn't check) - not running cooler or aftermarket management which i know is a bit iffy at 10psi (although apparently it does it at stock boost levels too) - ignition module (doubt it) ... OR ???? Running about 10psi boost, few random misses at around 4000rpm.. but can "push" thru till they start appearing at 5500rpm or so again. Not massive (heard worse) but enough to shit you when going hard. So Dr Paul - what is your prognosis?
  19. on my way.. to coil packs away.. or something cya
  20. it would be nice if the japanese wrote their software in *english* though damn foreigners!
  21. yup.. i know some of the concepts, but not enough.. the "scary knowledge" factor don't worry, its all safe, i have no skyline yet.. well not one that isn't running a C64 processor..
  22. i havent even finished my beer yet...
  23. oh .....
  24. i am impressed by the little graphs.. and i think i can see the basic map there.. hmm
  25. Oh of course! how could have i of missed it maybe easy if you know what you're doing.. (not me)
