  1. Worst of all, good chance one of is drunk, as no longer designated drivers are allowed... thinks "oh well, doesn't matter if I get caught being an idiot, as I've been drinking and going to lose my license anyhow - but what can I do, I've got to get home to get to work tomorrow". So I'm sure this is going to result in a few deaths in itself..
  2. Here is the piping config photo of r32 gts-t master cylinder if it helps.. http://www.project32.net/img/conv_emptybay03.jpg I would have to confirm tonight as I could be wrong off memory.. But I believe when I checked this out a little also, mine has BM44 on the side -- sorry to say I don't think the R32 one is actually larger. You're probably in luck reforming the lines r33 -> r32 as they're longer (if it was worthwhile).. but I was thinking of doing the other way around as its much easier to get R33 cylinder, but unfortunately I'd have to get them redone, as they're too short to fit the r33 positions
  3. <sniff> goodbye
  4. You're all under arrest for dodgy threads....
  5. I fail to really see how that actually helps, by extending the P-plater, L-plater limits or anything like these sort of steps. All it does is prolong the period in which people have to work around the tough restrictions of not being able to carry their friends around at night, try and not attempt 1km/hr over the limit, etc. And risk takers will still be risk takers. It won't necessarily make them a better driver, just maybe get them past that initial period. The P-plater period doesn't "teach" you anything, you just wait until you're done, maybe learn by mistakes, then instant full-license and off you go. If they really don't like young people driving around, make the legal driving age 21 or something. Age 18 is probably the worst possible time to give a person a license! thats the time you're going out till stupid late hours, getting drunk 24 hours a day, drugging, impressing your mates, chicks, etc all because you suddenly can all of these things at once. The problem I see, is that the way you get your licence is very superficial. It's mostly a written test, which only teaches you the road rules. Now the driving part of the test pretty much just teaches you how to start the car, take off without stalling, park, probably reverse park, use your indicators, etc. This doesn't really make you a safe driver, or good driver that doesn't make a mistake. For a start it doesn't teach you crash avoidance, what to do if you get in a skid situation, sliding in wet conditions or anything such as that - these are the things that actually might save your life if you do get in an uncontrolled situation (driving perfectly normally). Instead it's just "well don't ever get into that situation, but if you do well, work it out eh." The L's period is a bit of a joke, as nobody ever does anything with their parents in the car, and worst of all, are parents really the best drivers to teach their kids?? By the time they're late 30's, 40's, etc anyhow - they've well forgotten most of the finer points of the road rules, and probably wouldn't know what to do in an accident situation half-the-time themselves, never mind passing it onto their kids to learn. And lets face it, there are plenty of scumbag parents out their own just can't be f**ked teaching their kids properly or letting them drive 100 hours or whatever it is. In an ideal world, all parents are good parents, but well, world isn't like that. Wow you can park, you can start a car.. then you give p-platers the text 2-3 years to "work it out". Nice one. We shouldn't be just blindly trying these things willing nilly in the hope that some of them may work, but instead looking towards more forward countries in Europe, where driving training is a much more integrated part of society. Make it an extra compulsory subject in school for a year, make it a multi-staged process, and ideas such as these. These sort things would be more forward thinking than simply punishment.
  6. yeah.. pays to get a good battery. I got a cheap ass Battery World one for about $80.. has lasted less than 12 months and it's shagged. It also appears to leak, which is also nice and dandy. Next battery I'm going to get something good, it's one worth spending money on - as its an embarassment roll-starting your skyline at the servo due to a dicky battery!
  7. It's not just p-platers that do these things, and well, a red light is a red light.. it has NOTHING to do with speeding or most of the issues raised. It has to do with inattention, which tighter speeding restrictions, passenger restrictions, 1-strike policy WILL NOT FIX. I'm well well past being a p-plater, not quite grey haired and stupid yet, but even I realise these things are a waste of time, and anybody who believes otherwise is stupider than their years suggest. I was hit by a car once on my pushy and ended up in hospital and required surgery. Now do I have a whinge whenever I see somebody doing something stupid in their car. No I don't. What happened due to just being in the wrong place at the wrong time. I wasn't screaming and yelling for whoever would listen about 'tougher road rules' for months/years/afterwards. I got over it, and moved on with my life. Likewise, the first thing life teaches you about the roads is you have to expect people to do the wrong thing, and take that into account whether you are driving, a pedestrian, a cyclist, or just anywhere near a road.
  8. Best is on the compressor housing.. if not closest to the compressor housing on the intercooler piping. Shorter hoses are probably an advantage. rb20 ones uses a nipple on the housing
  9. I don't think it's a screwup, as nearly every article that has gone into this has said that in their testing, there is little to no difference in display quality using the PS3's fancy HDMI and the 360's component or VGA output cable. In 'theory' HDMI offers better resolution due to being direct digital->digital, but in practice it matters little if nobody (or only the most pedantic person) wouldn't notice the difference. It's ridiculous when people say 'bah, the 360 doesn't even have HDMI, therefore it looks crap'. It's the same when people get silly over any wizzbang spec in the latest device on paper, without looking at whether it makes a difference to using the product at the end of the day. Here is a good article discussing this: http://forum.ecoustics.com/bbs/messages/34579/122868.html I'd have it for free, but it's not a major concern to me if something didn't have HDMI. While the chip may only cost a few bucks, the licensing costs and integrating the correct copy-protection methodology into a device can translate into much larger, and could have pushed the 360 price up another $100 who knows. In fact, HDMI has drawbacks that should be considered - namely the copy-protection that Sony will be phasing in (and other HDMI players), which will very much 'lockdown' what you can and can't play and from what region... and on what device. And don't forget the fact that a unless you have a compliant HDMI TV (ok, it's becoming fairly standard now, but you're stuffed if you don't have it), when the 'phase2' kicks in, any high-def content that is attempted to be played back on a non-HDMI compliant TV will simply go back to 480 res, even if that TV can quite capably play true high-def content. Anybody that spent $10k, etc on a highdef TV older than 12 months or so ago is basically going to be up the crapper. Eventually HDCP/HDMI may also tie specific media to a specific device or possibly one TV, meaning you won't even be able to sell your games or movies that you've bought to other people, and the like. I'd be a bit more worried about that in the longer term. maybe you should look that part up in google yourself - type 'xbox 360 upscaler' .. I was reading about it the other day. It's the same type of hardware in many dvd players and TV's that upsample a standard def DVD to 720 or 1080, etc. Although I admit it can't magically make resolution out of nothing, it can give slightly better pictures.
  10. Actually the 360 does have an upscaler chip, it is the ps3 that doesn't. Anyhow, doesn't matter at the end of the day, as you can read a number benchmarks out there that in terms of video playback from a HD-DVD on a 360 vs Blu-ray on PS3, or DVD, there is little to no difference in quality.
  11. I didn't think it was 4 points for it, just like 2 extra or something. Guess not It's ridiculous, they bring in these things along with a whole bunch of other things at once, nobody ever complains about them, or really remembers about them, until you get hit. But once they're in, they're there to stay to continue butt-f**king the public.
  12. eeek.. 1.6.. *evil* they all make noise on startup, either lifters, or belts.. my n13 has done 263,000km and it also makes noise
  13. sorry, don't trust COD... as you can see my trader rating is very high, and I've been long on here long enough that if you're genuinely interested I prefer direct deposit - then I send.
  14. .. when you're itchin' for the Hammer, you're itchin' for a show..
  15. Exactly.. all about speeding, and what happens if you hit that pedestrian who shouldn't have been on the road in the first place.. "Look left, look right" - where are those ads bombarding TV ? Nope, it's pretty much 'watch what you are doing in your car, because there are any number of morons who are trying to kill themselves that you need to protect' P.s. godwin is a nazi
  16. yeah.. pity QLD gets the lame ass 'lets pretend it almost says something' plates.. where the rest of the country gets real ones for the same cost.
  17. stop it! you're making me hungry..
  18. Ask Bill..
  19. That's the thing that needs to change from the government perspective. There is constant "don't do it on the streets" and yet when the opportunities arise to encourage people to do it in a legal fashion, undertake extra training, the incentive is just not there.
  20. only problem is why I'm not rushing to get a wii I can see a big gap between the launch titles drying up and anything else decent coming out.. you're going to be playing the same games for the next 6 months It's good fun with beers and things, but then you get sick of moving around.. and just start lazily flicking the controller around on the couch
  21. "if it saves somebody's life its worth it".. Well by that attitude.. all sharp implements should be banned, all pools should be banned, all alcohol should be banned.. actually, you'd have to ban everything, and prevent everybody from doing everything. Nice. Now do we live in a free society, or Nazi Germany here? f**king stupidist phrase I ever see thrown around and I'm sick of hearing it in the media. There is reasonable steps, and then there is just taking things too far to protect the stupid few, and the suffering of 99% of the population who for the most part do the right thing, or do make small mistakes now and then. I just don't think that attitude is right, and that is where Australian's running the country have lost the plot.
  22. I've emptied out a cat, and there is no evidence to suggest the material in one end is any different to the other. Unless there is a subtle chemical change which is not visible. Maybe more modern or advanced ones are like that, but from what I've seen they are simply a honeycomb lattice structure which is consistent throughout.
  23. Need some money, so getting rid of my Xbox(1) with Media Centre 2.01 system, remote, controller & 250gb seagate hard drive.. Play any movies or video files across either the network, or from the hard drive. Games can also be stored on the hard drive. Comes with original 'S' controller, and official Microsoft remote control for movie playback on the couch. Media centre will play WMV, MP3, WMA, XVID, DIVX, OGG, or pretty much any other format your PC can play through a sexy interface in very high quality. 250gb is enough for 300+ compressed movies, 1000+ mp3, albums, etc. Contains the improved Samsung DVD drive which reads a wider selection of media. In excellent condition, near new throughout. ** SOLD **
  24. it won't be a VQ.. it'll be a VQxxVH lots of changes have been made to improve the VQ.. a lot of them to allow higher revs and no doubt support a powerful turbo setup. 350kw in stock form is my guess.. With the scope for a few nismo tuner models pushing out 450kw, etc..
  25. They'll get it out of him eventually... if not, then I reckon the cops should give SAU-QLD keys to the cell for a while while the cop goes for a walk. He's pissed a lot of people off.
