  1. of course it will.. if you want one, so does somebody else When compliance becomes available i'd say they would become very popular.. just like the soarer has been. I was looking into it a bit.. the 1JZ-GTE on either the JZX90 or JZX100 is good for 300rwkw fairly easily with stock internals, stock gearbox, etc. 2nd in strength only 2 the supra engine, and that is a strong engine.. The main problem i had with the Chasers was that parts from o/s would be quite expensive, and of course getting them locally would be very difficult/expensive. Even things like exhaust systems or suspension would be very hard to track down. Either from o/s - big $$ and bugger all chance of getting them local. Turbo kits are hellish expensive for anything 1JZ-GTE, and apparently not meant to be the easiest to install - around $3k at least for something 2nd hand. And as the demand is less the prices are higher on them. It would be an expensive car to modify, but would be worthwhile to have something slightly different.. Pimped up with nice rims and kits they look horn. Stock they really just look like a cross between Toyota Avalon and Camry (erk!) PowerFC and things is available for the Chasers now which is a big plus. Maybe one day when i have a lot of money to throw at a car, it would be a worthwhile one. You have seen the price correct for a Toyota manual box ? and finding a supra 5 speed.. $$$$
  2. while somebody is actually reading this thread.. can anybody try.. HCR32-026999 ..thanx
  3. you also forgot "most expensive"
  4. just clean the AFM.. most likely cause. Its probably got crap all over it, blocking the sensor and thereby resulting in poor idle and other strangeness. Give it a try.
  5. maybe they thought he was a terrorist.. bit harsh though! poor dude
  6. it must be made of bog.. take it back.. i think the weight difference is less than 10kg between the aluminium and non-aluminium bonnets though.. its less than it feels.
  7. availability of r32 front strut bars too..
  8. well your car is the fastest slow car of the lot then..
  9. actually i like belgarions car.. because it looks slow, but is the fastest gts-t of the lot.. the rest of you are all a bunch of ricers :( ahh, this is a fun thread.
  10. haha.. neil  tze.. awww i would also like to nominate my car for most rooted ass end award but him and owned i think are in a tie.. i would like to nominate them for equal awards and joint winners. thats because bits of his car keep falling off! or it just stops in the middle of driving along
  11. Are GTR and GTS-T indicators different on r32 ? Is this because of the different shapes of the front guards?
  12. ...BUT of course any rb26dett you pick up off the shelf from somewhere, its going to be as good as the day it came out of the factory yes? anyhow, who knows how serious you are.. but just spend the money on building a very strong rb25det and single, don't dick around code blue.. GTR and twin turbo setups are for the most part for GTR and 4WD..crossing the water only works if you have a lot of money to throw at the project.
  13. most have been going on wednesday nights from here.. i think weds are less busy. supra should pull some good times though i bet
  14. technically yes.. but like most things, those with money could get it into the country and on the road registered with the right connections. It happened many times in the past. Although being such a high profile car it might be difficult to get somebody to turn a "blind eye" I 'spose as questions would kind of be asked. Returning it to stock would not be a problem if you had another stock GTR sitting there (of course if you could afford $90k you could probably afford another $40k to buy another GTR for the swap to get in on the road).. week or two to rip everything out, put it on the shelf, and swap in your GTR stock bits such as stock engine...compliance easy.. everything back in 2 weeks later, and 1000hp driving around on the streets and ripping it up in dandy Why I have been thinking about this I don't know.. maybe just in case i win tattslotto
  15. my car is stock as a rock, so i am *hoping* (but could be wrong! ) that there is nothing worth stealing.. not even a stock stereo to remove. I wouldn't say performance would be that exhilirating that they'll want to thrash it around the yard anyhow. I don't they're going to be going "hey snake, pst... lets go take that stock skyline for a drive.. " when there are several hyped up GTR sitting next to it.
  16. apparently rb20det and series1 rb25det coils are the same..
  17. maybe they have just been cleaned properly inside .. never know the indicator bits could be these ones.. although they look a bit blacker than that. At around $500AUD don't think i'll be getting those anytime soon.. http://www.takakaira.co.jp/asp/shoppingcar...t2.asp?id=14772
  18. actually.. i nominate my r31 for cheapest piece of shit that stills runs and is reliable my dad's camry ..because its just so cool..
  19. Just curious as to what lights are these on an R32 gts-t.. Are they some special brand you can get, or something custom ? they look awesome..
  20. yes, this was me.. there is an uber thread on how to replace it.. pull it apart.. pix, everything.. get reading there is also like krawler is talking about - search 'bypassing heater core' in maintenance. it will be slightly different for an r32 but i think the same basic principles will apply. have fun (you won't!)
  21. Was a great day for it.. and good number of attendees up here in QLD. We went for a bit of a casual drive up through Mt Nebo, across to Mt Glorious, and then down and back to lunch at Goodna. Overall about a 3 hour drive or so. Look forward to some shots from around Australia, and maybe even around there world!
  22. i saw skylines today too...
  23. hmm.. this will just turn into a shitfight.. i can tell..
  24. rb25 definitely.. if you can afford it.. i am "downgrading" to an rb20det for a while until i go for a monster engine. Will be interesting to feel the difference. Have been in a couple of r32, and more nothing, then on.. rb25det is much nicer.. some of the better rb20det turbos are meant to spool up a bit lower and give much nicer response down low.. HKS2530 and things like that. You could research into those a bit more.
