  1. Once of a lifetime opportunity! Who wants to live with me? Basically, sold my car so now I can actually afford to move down the GC. As I'm working 5 days a week down here and driving 5 days a week from Brisbane to the Goldcoast its kind of a *little* draining. Was thinking might be better to get a more spacious or nicer 2 or 3 bedroom place rather than 1 cramped or cheap one. As a rough guestimate, the maximum I'd want to pay would be around $130 each and share of the bills and all of that side of things.. probably broadband.. blah. Looking for somewhere around ashmore,mermaid waters, benowa, etc however not too fussed to be honest, but not too far from anything. Definitely not a fan of high-rise apartment living - which probably leaves a unit, townhouse or something like this. This place MUST have a garage, and I need dibs on it most of the time for car related projects in the next 12 months I have in mind. But I am sure we can work things out... as for the time being I don't have another fancy car (yet... ) Just thought I'd may as well post here. You never know. Maybe you have a friend, family member, work coleague or somebody you know who is looking for another place and is in a similar situation to me. No psychos obviously, and *must* have a steady hopefully well paid job and do their share of house work etc. Ben and Cyrus are living a nice little cozy SAU household there :love: so who knows who else is out there. Time frame would roughly within 2-3 weeks but basically ASAP. I have to give at least 2 weeks notice from my current place unfortunately. I don't have a car anymore . .but meh.. i may come to watch all the fast cars *sniff* yeah, if they aren't getting back to you probably means they're not too keen on the dyno day .. I guess for them its a bit of a hassle opening the workshop on the weekend, having somebody around - and in the end they probably don't make too much money (if any)

  7. depends how much you paid for it? and how good the rest of the car is. ~$12k.. why not.. $16k or more.. stuff it you never know what condition the GTR engine that you are getting is really.. bit of a gamble. How much will a GTR halfcut set somebody back these days anyhow? not "off the shelf" .. more like "on a boat and wait" cost ??
  8. :werd: those sensors are kind of important. You need to be able to hook them or vital things will not work - probably causing damage to whatever setup you are going for!

  11. oh them.. from what i remember i think i just used nero to extract each track as WAV's.. then fed thru musicmatch to generate the mp3 ... worked fine using the pioneer. I think some drives must just be more sensitive to the protection than others? i think it was how i did it on a couple of cds anyhow.. but i forget. they could have brought out even newer protection.

  13. hey mike.. waz up? well now i sold my r33 i might do some stuff on the r31.. might come this weekend to see what i might buy off your wreck. at the moment the only thing that is really bothering me is the odometer stopping about a month ago.. but i just need the little bit inside the cluster. its hard to explain. rest not sure. one minute some of the worn stuff bothers me, at others its just extra character
  14. :werd: considering we are talking about 4 months worth of GTR (august -> end of december).. compared to what 5 years worth of R32 GTR that simply can't be imported at the moment. Those trying to make a quick buck of the 1989 GTR will probably need to fairly quickly if you ask me, as soon as SEVS compliance is available and the options are much larger... and from what I can gather the price only a few $k more (even based on a $6k compliance)... the ass will fall out of the 1989 market pretty quickly.
  15. Nissan GTR N1 one is about $160... they're not too expensive. Whether they actually make any noticeable difference to the engines cooling who knows.

  20. well its good for parts.. cheap parts are never a bad thing.. doesn't take long for somebody who couldn't really afford a GTR to write it off.. Already seen a few "parts only". Its great! But yeah.. i was looking at the "non-inflated" post 89 cars and some good prices there. When SEVS kicks in for R32 GTR you'll still be able to get some good ones for $25k or probably lower - and a lot more to choose from.

  22. its an awesome bike.. but very serious price for pros. biking is awesome rush though.. going 70km/hr on a pushie is equal to going 200km/hr in a skyline Racing cars down hills was often fun although also a little suicidal
  23. yes.. the 9.0:1 CR is fairly boost acceptable with proper RON fuel. I mean the RB25DET is 8.5:1 anyhow. The VLT is something silly like 7.x:1 which is bit low if you ask me -- they just made it like that to run off our shit aussie fuel circa 1987 and hot aussie conditions and ancient turbos. The general recommendation is to not wind the boost up too much past 8psi.. and run a cooler. Personally I think you can probably wind it up a bit more than that with a decent cooler and maybe utilising an S-AFC, but I'll have to test that one out. You should be able to get 130-150rwkw that way depending on the turbo you go for. For my r31 I'm going for a RB25DET turbo, and got most of the intake setup from an R32 (cross over pipe, intercooler and piping). I just need to grab the injectors and ECU and should be ready to go soon. Change the ECU to a VLT one..you'll need it to run the larger injectors (which you'll also need to install) and turbo anyhow.. although with the gas ... hmm Don't ask me about gas 'cause i know nothing about gas
  24. Could also be the sender is loose under the car (off the gearbox), always pays to check that too. May be an easier fix than pulling apart the dash if the problem isn't there (not that it couldn't be the above either ) As itbmils is saying, with the skylines a few things are based on the speed it reads, so power steering, HICAS and some other thing may go funny if its getting a dodgy reading.
  25. yeah slowness beau - not sure i can help there.. maybe try an online japanese supermarket and find a picture of rice and work it out from there??
