  1. yeah.. you want good tyres on it. The r33 never really had good tyres for all the time I owned it. Was one of the things i wished i could have spent good money on, but never could.
  2. 31 is going fine washed it today.. even if its old still worth keeping clean.. Installed my sub and amp in the back that was in the r33. System sounds pretty reasonable now. I saw a couple of skylines out last night.. got a bit of withdrawal seeing them! been scouting the forums a bit.. got a wad of money and plenty of stuff i need to buy
  3. hey ya'll
  4. yeah.. you definitely feel the punch of the GTR from the get go.. just because of the massive torque and two turbos make the power all that much more smoother. You can get a good punch from a well modified gts-t but its not quite the same. There is no real comparison
  5. whats wrong with it? it is very clean
  6. Its a pain in the ass.. I've looked at a few GTR with my mate in melb.. Finding a good one is so difficult - and the amount of totally unbelieveable stories was ridiculous! Most were dodgy. That said there have been quite a few for sale I've seen recently which from the photos and details looked quite well priced. I hope you aren't restricting your looking to just QLD ? As they don't seem to be as prevalant up here as in other states (like melb). An airfare is easily worth the price of getting something you want!
  7. After an R32 coupe .. can be any of the eastern states however QLD definitely preferred. Only want to pay $11k max for something like a 1991 or 1992 model.. so that is probably going to have few to no modifications which I'd also prefer. I just sold my old car so can provide payment quickly. Anyhow, doubt there is much -- but just in case, maybe you're having trouble selling your R32 and just want a quick sale. That is me It can be auto also, as that will be thrown out soon enough. Do not want a 1989 unless its around $8k as will just import one myself.
  8. well 220rwkw should get a mid-12 sec time with a good driver and correct rear end setup. A mildly modified GTR will probably also run that time .. roughly equivelent - but like you say the traction of the GTS-T is the weak point.
  9. i remember the blackburn one was good.. and a fair range of NISMO stuff which was cool, although a little exxy. unfortunately by the time i discovered that it was time to leave melb

    Rexetr

not really.. and most rex owners can't launch properly anyhow rex are overrated
  11. nods.. me too in fact you can fit them all on one disc.. and i don't mind some of the newer albumns either.. the old are just better
  12. exactly.. for the extra $300 or whatever its going to cost its not even worth seeing whether it does work.. obviously factory built xx cc injectors have been proven to work.
  13. If I could get an RB26DETT head at only slightly more than RB25DE or RB25DET head - would it be worthwhile bolting onto an RB30 bottom end?? What problems are inherent in this setup? I see that most tend to go for RB30DET (which is my next option) - I assume one of the chief reasons is the extra cost of the GTR head itself. From previous readings I hear that there are a few problems with the basic design of the RB30 which makes RB30DETT not as optimal as it should otherwise be: * oil squirters lacking in RB30 but its been said these are not required - even for big HP? * harmonic balance issues in the rb30 mean that high revs (< 8k) will destroy the crank and probably the engine. Can this be overcome with balancing or can somebody explain the reason why not? To me this might not be a major concern, as the motor probably will be building enough torque by 8000rpm to keep a truck happy. * The solid lifter design of the RB26DETT head is probably better suited for the higher revs? Which kind of is ruled out by the above. What else needs to be taken into consideration? Of course the bottom end would be rebuilt for quite a lot of power. Already have a block ready for things. Not sure what car it will go in.. probably cheap R32.
  14. Seeing as I sold my r33 I have the following things just sitting around. Some is probably just rubbish, but let me know of any offers for anything. 2x RHS door hinges 1x red radiator cap to suit nissan painted in high temp paint - makes the car go faster 1x heaterbox. Switches/motors removed.. stuffed core. Probably rubbish, but maybe there is one little bit you need off there. 1x RHS stuffed door card off a s1 gtst. Again, not sure what you'd want it for. Maybe speaker grill or something (can be detached) if yours is broken. Could probably remove the cloth (I played around a little there it can just peel off) and apply to another door trim - the wear you see there isn't bad when you see it, just the light angle there. 1x RHS plastic bit off bottom of door card. 1x RHS indicator in EC. 1 x LHS inner door handle in GC R33 airbox as is.. no filter or snorkel - however did pass an EPA like this back in VIC
  15. hehe.. yes, i hope so too grrr...so believeable too - I wouldn't have believed you clowns but wasn't expecting the other guy!! still plotting a come back for that one sometime... when you *least* expect it!! I hope the younger guy takes care of it.. guy from country NSW. Bought it from the country, and back to the country it goes. it did.. it did! may have even been the clincher for the sale. thanx for the great work on that.. one day in the not too distanct future I may call upon your great service again..
  16. Well its gone.. Another SAU skyline leaves the ranks for other pastures. Its been a great 20 months but tonight I saw her pshtt one last time and drive away.. sounded soo good from outside the car too Some strange co-incidence today too: * It was within the same month exactly 10 years ago that my R33 rolled off the production line somewhere in Chiba, Japan. * This morning it ticked over 100,000km for the first time (I took a photo while driving .. even got video of it..) * It was my birthday 3 days ago. The common questions, may as well answer them all in one place - Yes, I pretty much got the price I wanted - was sold "as is" cancelled rego, no safety cert or anything as it was off to NSW to be registered. Saved me some hassles. - Why'd i sell it? hmmm, tough one.. long stories, dramas and well R33 are an expensive base to start from. Nothing wrong with the car really at all just was getting a bit sick of it. It will be nice to have further options again. - What is next? dunno.. have some ideas..but wait and see what comes up. No massive hurry yet. It will be fast.. damn fast. so I wave goodbye.. and least have some final great photos to remember it by:
