awesome.. if it is still registered and has just lapsed, just tell the coppers you have paid it, and it mustn've gone through. To be honest though, i think unless a cop had actualyl pulled you over they wouldn't notice. Even when i got pulled over at nebo a few months ago, i still had no rego sticker on there and the cops didn't even blink or raise a question aobut it.

Depends if your talking an import version or aussie version? Speaking for the aussie versions: they are great.. i've owned two.. haven't managed to snap either of them. 1st one had done about 250,000km on original drivetrain and all fine.. 2nd one (my current one) has done 315,000km - 2nd engine but the rest still holds together nicely. No major rust spots, electrical problems or anything like that. The best thing i reckon, is that they have got what you need (power steering, aircon, EFI) without the complexities of having a lot of shit you don't.

erm - ferni.. but legally just changing your stock airbox to a pod in some states may be "illegal" and "non street legal". Its a bit silly to classify it like that. I find it hard at the drag strip to "feel" the car as much with the helmet on.. to know what its doing, to tell if its even really if its spinning the wheels. On the street you'd tell straight away and back off, but when you're relying a lot more on instinct and practice its like a very closed environment. So it does take good practice to get it right i think in the full dragstrip environment (helmet on, etc)
