i wouldn't risk going too loud in melb.. you'll get EPA'ed pretty quick. I got EPA'ed for a perfectly legal 89db exhaust (see the pic.. lol) Like Gizmo73 is saying, there is a lot more than just the size, the amount of bends, the angle of the bend, extra resonators, or muffler can all effect it. There is no "standard" way to say how loud it is just by looking at it. You can ask brands, and you might get some feedback.

Depends.. the HKS has it all clearly marked, and which is retard and which is advance. And each mark is 2deg crank (which it has printed on it). Nice and easy. If it is the same as the HKS, slide the adjuster counterclockwise to retard, and clockwise to advance.

RB30E extractors suit R31 skyline. Not sure of type, but they seem to be exactly the same ones as in my car as well (Nissan??) which sound pretty good. They are 6 into 2 into 1 and the pipe back to the cat. Should only take an hour or so to bolt up (really easy) and give you a nicer exhaust note, and a decent power increase. Seem to be in pretty good condition with no obvious cracks, dents or problems. You can probably sand them back a bit and will come up fairly nicely if you care about the look of them.
