  1. :bs!: have you even been for an EPA? you can actually leave the pod on, or an aftermarket intercooler on, but not both. There is plenty of previous discussion on this, and many have been to the mcleod testing centre for more than just noise (including me when i was in melb). don't stress too much, just return your car as much as possible to stock (or be clever), and you should be right.
  2. Turbomad: my mate went for a n/a for much the same reasons as you mention. He is very happy with his purchase so far.. and saved $5k on what a decent turbo would cost + the extras. Exactly the same features and look anyhow other than the gofast bits. Still drives very nicely, and just a good car all round. Nothing local could offer same specifications or features for a similar price. Insurance was around $800 through justcars for an n/a too for a 25y/o+ driver.
  3. i didn't do my r33 one.. but in the r31 i remember it was a real bitch.. WD40 helped a fair bit.. then just got a big hammer and bashed from the other side a stack. Light taps and then big bashes. Took nearly 40 mins of bashing and swearing. I didn't really like what it was doing to the steering column either but seems to be fine. Tends to mangle the old wheel though.
  4. well my stuff arrived from japan yesterday.. just in time!! nismo clothing is cool also picked up another RB30E today.. and we also dismantled an engine.. not bad. learned a fair bit
  5. Its funny how actually losing control of your car has become so cool. I know the pros do it so its all controlled, but to get to the controlled stage takes a hell of a lot of practice. And the speeds the pros do it at is incredible. If some punk kid tried it they're going to hit something, and die. In fact i'm a little surprised it hasn't happened a bit more to be honest. Why isn't tuning your car to go really hard and fast, and working on your suspension setup and brakes so that it sticks to the road like glue and getting that perfect racing line not also just as "cool"?? Unfortunately that takes knowledge and money, so wonder so many out there cling to "drift".
  6. engine management is meant to be tax free or some crap.. it depends on the product i think.
  7. rb25 - now that sounds pretty damn intelligent - you are probably right actually
  8. rb25.. all *your* stuff will get caught up in customs i reckon. duty = slap. Mine will probably arrive monday .. this online packaging struff is kinda cool
  9. "Arrival at delivery office Jun 4 00:35 AUMXBA " Where the hell is AUMXBA ???
  10. i just want my dodgy nismo clothing god damn it!
  11. cya jay
  12. rb25: i swapped MJ's one till mine gets here today.. it will most likely be *after* tuesday when it gets here. james: so in good nick.. hmmm ..have to check the finances see i *was* going to do all this RB30ET after i sold the R33, but all this good prices come up and i already have the manifold now.. may be right in a few weeks. i'm getting crazier plans of building an RB30DET bit longer term .. john has the RB25DE still .. so tempting!
  13. i got a star too .. see only the retards dont have stars
  14. cailan.. did you get the vids from last night? might delete em in a sec..
  15. mmm .. i got wood
  16. nexus car is going in monday.. mine tuesday..he's gonna be busy.. i retarded my cam gear to 3 degrees, that will save him all of 1 minute.
  17. even RB30E has a nice note to it with a larger exhaust.. i think an RB30DET would be heaven on a stick when it comes on song.. Even though a plain RB30E is old technology now, there is just something about it that still gives it a unique noise even in n/a form. The hankering is so there.. all the best bits of an RB25DET (which is awesome on its own) + then some! and the torque should throw you around like no business, just without that "gap" the RB25DET has which annoys me a little offboost. But I can only imagine what it would be like until i build one myself I'm picking up a 2nd complete s2 block RB30E this weekend -- will be practically free by the time i sell the "extras" i got with it. It was mainly for spares for my R31, but the more i think about it, the more i want an RB30DET - don't care about which car it goes in, I just want that engine! thinking things out at the moment.
  18. But you sure you want the replacement product?? i think its manbeef from Eug himself
  19. can i have one with a non-nutty family though? had bad experiences with previous product
  20. i see your car is forsale as of today.. looks nice - but $37k?!! bit rich isn't it? anyhow, will be interested to see whether it sells.
  21. nice one vin you do that and you'll soon become the most popular guy in SAUQLD
  22. :werd: they stay looking good too.. group buy on asian women..
  23. hmmm.. its all disappeared a bit into a big block hole hasn't it after all the kerfafal? wonder what is happening? well obviously somebody is thinking about something or it would have been stopped by now. I read also that on 1/1/05 the import duty (for new vehicles only i think) drops from 15% to 10%. Wonder this is co-incidence or not?? During an election year, lots of stuff kind of gets sat on. Will see.. I'd like to import a 15 year car or two before the end of the year for fun
  24. buyer always pays stamp duty.. ontop of the agreed price. unless you come to some other agreement - really that would just be $xxxx off the asking price.
  25. ebrake has become my word of the day now..see
