  1. hmm, i think that one comes from the "Gay Taylor" collection...
  2. charly: do they get confused when you ask them what they are wearing? and that strange slurping noise going on in the background?
  3. :aroused:
  4. my old r31 has done 312,000km or so.. still doesn't look too terrible.. and runs nice enough probably better than some cars at a whopping $8k then again it didn't cost $35k either
  5. prices seem to be remaining fairly constant over the last 6-12 months: around $16k - $25k from a stock standard rough S1 to nice spanky S2. Seem to notice less of the cheaper ones around now at the tail end of the market as well, but i am sure they are around. Lots of people will go for an R33 over an R32 just because of the more modern look and age.
  6. do a search and read the text on how to do it rather simple
  7. oh god.. please send him back to cuba!!
  8. Don't tell me they want to take Enrico back to Cuba??
  9. that beer isn't cold either! Its all staged I tells'ya!!
  10. who gives a crap? or is this just me? as long as it didn't come back with a dent or the turbo blown, or a speeding fine. What is the drama if they did a few km? Maybe they had to see that is drove straight after the repairs - that could be a genuine reason? I had a bit of a think about that, as mine has been away in a similar place too. They know they crash or total it they are foobared, and so is their business probably - so they aren't going to be too crazy about it all. And its in the hands of a panel beater, if they stack they'd be in the best position to fix it wouldn't they? But granted, I guess i care less about some things in life than others so guess it could bother people If its an insurance job, best report may be able to take it up with the insurers. That should get you further guaranteed, as the panel beaters are shit scared of being dropped by their biggest payees.
  11. In the R33 at least i know I could change the dash over in 30 minutes for another and none would be the wiser at all. Its a simple procedure a 15 year old could do. Even winding it forward or backwards manually would be relatively simple procedure. I am not quite sure about the R34 and the electronic odometer (if that is what they have?) but i'm sure its not much complicated. If its electronic, it may be even easier. Just work out the required voltage to click it over, and keep it applied for a while till you get the km you want. jake32 i think is right too, although I'm not sure of the japanese system -- but i do know there are quite a few procedures in place to make it difficult. Like any system, i am sure there is a magic way around it. I've said it before, and i'll say it again.. whoever looks at KM on a japanese car is being silly. The only km you can genuinely know what have been done is to ask the aussie owner. Ask the km it came into the country, and the km the owner has done. I do believe jap cars do less than over here, public transport is much more accepted over there, driving is more like a wealthier privelege than a right, parking costs are astronomical, and petrol is probably more expensive also to encourage public transport. Don't you even have to buy a spot, which costs tens of thousands of dollars a year just to get a park in a major centre? So I can't really imagine them driving too much, unless its more country driving -- and well Japan isn't a large place compared to australia. So really like here, you have to ask, where was the car situated (close to salt water, etc), how many times a week was it driven, was it a daily driver, etc. Darkcoupe: if you are so distrustful about km, why are you still using them at all? Why not look at ones that have done 90,000km. May well be better condition than one that has done a magic "35,000km" Anyhow, i went through all this when i bought my r33. Looked close enough, car was in good condition, i asked the owner what he had available (the import papers with the km they it was brought in), and I bought.
  12. um.. i have 3 jobs at the moment...maybe 4 One i work at computer sales/support i guess at umart 3 days a week Another i work 2 days a week as pretty much permanent contractor doing web design work for a small web design company. This is my main training, and expertise and where i did my degree (a degree that gets you $100k? ahhh young slip ) The other i am doing more web development (e.g. also the coding side) also as a subcontractor for a company. Building a site for a horse racing syndicate at the moment actually. This is "afterhours", e.g. whenever i am not at the above 2 i should be doing this Doing my head in at the moment. The final.. which i guess is a "job" is co-managing/developing a pretty popular games site www.gamebiz.com.au which i been doing for a couple of years. The goal is to one day to make that into a successful money making business. Gaming is hugggee bucks, and if i ever have the time, i know i can make it massive. But its all time, and hundreds of hours of work for a possible/maybe payoff. Currently stalled pretty much due too much of the above
  13. Just have to find a truck weigh station... be nice, pay whatever it is, and whack the car on. Should be plenty about. I am sure they are pretty quiet most of the time.
  14. Damn.. oh well.. they would have been around my price point too. In the end I went for the Kenwood KFC-M1620's. 3 ways, at 30wRMS - http://www.kenwood.com.au/car3.asp?gid=1&c...&cid=43&pid=348. RRP is $125, and on special at $88 through Brisbane Car Sound. The 3 ways seemed to give a fair bit better sound than just the 2 ways i looked at (cheaper pioneers, other kenwoods, etc). Fairly good bass, but the separation isn't great. Will do fine for rear speakers later on if i get better ones for the front. Do the trick, but you are right, not brilliant, nor as good as decent splits. But they sound good enough for my needs at the moment, as i basically had nothing (factory.. circa 1986 speakers...blerk). Also low mount depth so no spacers were required, which saved me $20 or so for spacers (yes this is a very budget system at the moment!)
  15. actually.. its only 2 tyres that are hosed.. hmmm
  16. hmm.. i bought those tyres in July or so last year.. So thats like 10 months.. to go through a whole set of tyres.. and i don't even lay major patches that sux.. $400 / 10 = $40 / 4 = $10 a week just on tyres.. that is so gay. .
  17. you would then get a fine for having an unrestrained animal..
  18. ... i can lend you some tyre black? will that do the trick? well my award is official now
  19. should see my falkens now .. good for a whole 15,000km. I'm going to nominate them for shithouse tyre of the year award we'll i've joined the "clan" watch out
  20. "woosang" eh? they do sound cool .. do they have their own line of "Wu" clothing to go with them?
  21. :jk: hmmm, i love leaving random verbs out of sentences it seems. Makes them appear so much more interesting to read.
  22. if they have extensive drift damage on them, and could fall apart at any moment.. and yet you still fang the car at excessive regardless.. i guess that could be cool though?
  23. if it came from strutto.. nope.. sorry
  24. do you have gold plated hub caps though??
  25. thanx rob.. its getting better..
