  2. Basically the work to fit and paint them on my r33 my panel beater couldn't be bothered with. Hence why i recommended DMD. They sold 'em, they can fit 'em. So if you go get them fited and painted by DMD there will be no dramas and you'll save yourself $100. Not to say other panel beaters won't be able to either, just the place i took my car didn't want to stuff around with them and the modifications to fit. He is sourcing me some proper 400R ones which would probably suit my car better anyhow, and what I was really after in the first place. Story complete and i'm being honest. Now buy
  3. i think the argument is really .. a GTR is a GTR.. you can never change that. Like a Porsche is a Porsche, etc I'd argue that nothing ever stops you putting a GTR engine in the GTS-T and that gives you the best value. If anything you're in a better position, as while the engine is out it can be fully be rebuilt for 600hp+ then you can swap it in once its finished. You'll get a few $k for your old RB25DET, etc. Then the only difference is really the exterior isn't it, and lack of semi-4WD. Then you have to get it all to the ground.. bit easier with a GTR, but not unachievable with RWD. A lot of people make mistakes along the way going for big HP, thats generally where i guess the costs add up.

  11. i seen quite a few GTR get mid 13sec 1/4 miles.. then again i have seen quite a few GTS-T get 15sec 1/4 miles

  14. I'd still recommend Crusin' Panels at Tingalpa. My car came up a treat, and very happy with the work done, and price paid. You can see the results below

  18. hmm.. $16k might be able to you an RB30DETT conversion, probably different suspension. You'd be just lacking the 4WD, but it would go a lot faster. But yeah, true most haven't even driven a GTR so who are we to talk

  22. I think GTR are overpriced... Plenty of parts on a GTR fail.. 2WD while lacking some handling characteristics is much simpler system and easier to get right. If you had unlimited money.. and had a sponsored car, guess the GTR. If you were on more of a personal budget, probably the GTS-T. I don't see one aspect of the GTS-T that can't be done up as big and bad as a GTR with money to spend - just less of it to start with.

  24. yeah.. this is a fairly small contract job. i am a bit sick of it.. i think its already pushing about 70% of the quoted hours and going to be a fair bit more to do. Seeing as i have day jobs now i really have to consider whether i continue with more of these in future, it takes too much out of me.
  25. I bought mine basically for that reason. I wanted a daily driver other than r33 (as it chews fuel, don't like putting km on it), and didn't want to pay any more than $2k. If you want something more modern, definitely stay away but they are good cars all round. They have a bit of grunt, and goes when you put your foot down. Looks are a personal thing, but look tough in a boxy way. I paid $1500 for mine.. can't beat that Can kick magnas and camrys any day, probably uses about the same fuel too (9L/100km highway and i do this every day)
