s13 are a bit trashy inside and out... but definitely go harder with mods. Its rare to find a nice looking silvia around... the majority are well hacked.. My mate looked at a few s13 but quickly changed his mind.

if its still using basic valve timing its going to get to a point where you just can't get much further without killing the driveability at some point. Don't know about the beamers, but bit of stuff I know can be done with the s2000 to give it more kick. Everything comes out of the factory for all conditions, all fuel quality, economy, etc.

yeah i'm a bit pissed over it too.. but panel beaters its one excuse after another, and then one day when u least expect it they say "hey, your car is done". The main concern in the r33 is the brake fluid.. up nebo the other time i was getting brake probs on the way down.. bit of a worry. Gearbox and diff is fine, but time they were changed. I mean i've done 30,000km since i've had it, and they have never been changed. Oil, sparkplugs and the filters i've changed regularly.. but not the other more longterm stuff

that one is around $250.. a bargain basement one will just bother me.. i might be keeping the r31 for a while as just a thrash around car. Even that one i'd put in another car. It'd actually be better than the model i have in my r33 (which was the older model)

you always get fined.. usually its $125 cops have too much power when it comes to this thing, and are inadequately trained to spot correct or incorrect items. They really need a handbook they carry around, and the public can get a copy. They look down the list, point it out. At least you know what it is, and its clearly laid out for anybody to look at. If its on the list its a defect, and the exact terms and definitions are laid out. If the defect is not in line with these then you should be able to take it to court or invalidate the defect.
