yup, i better go order mine too.. without a gear could be kinda hard to do. Wanting to do it about 2 weeks time. IF we get to a point where we go "hmm, looking too difficult" i guess we give up and put it all back together. I have the tools, thats easy. It basically sounds like, remove fan and shroud (and x-over fmic pipe in my case).. mark CAS position relative to cover and remove.. remove cover.. behind should be the marks.. one at 10oclock inlet side, and 2oclock exhaust .. rotate crank to TDC, this should be where the built-in belt marks align with these marks. unbolt stock gear.. pull off.. bolt on new gear, bolt on. do all up.. i am confident now reading all that.

yer, that is what i was going to put on.. but leave cover off for later tuning on dyno as required. if you want to do it same time, could be a good little project i reckon.. there is a good thread in forced induction on how to do it.

almost mj, almost! so did u say that gavin will also do your camgear? i am keen to pull off my timing belt cover and see the condition of hte belt (so i know how much longer i need to replace it.. like another 5000km could be fine, or like NOW.. stop driving it completely, etc). I am thinking maybe if i get that far, i will just install the camgear.. then take it to gavin to adjust and do a full dyno tune.

i am still hanging for my r33 to come back.. although it will drive hte same it will be a whole different experience.. .

erin: ye, know the feeling jumping between the old skyline (r31) and the new skyline, its such a big difference.. $633 still isn't too bad for an AVC-R.. people used to pay $900 and some still do

hey erin :wavey: nice to have car back?? mj: exactly... even if you have to pay 10% - 20% duty its still cheaper than anything locally. who is installing your gear? do you know yet? i am still tossing up between gavin when i get my belt and water pump changed or myself (i am pretty sure after reading some instructions on here i can do it myself).. if jimx can do it, i can do it

it sucks really.. u used to be able to get $3k turbos thru and pay now duty.. now with this terrorism shit, and also increased focus on checking everything that goes thru an airport, now w'ere all paying also i think a few local companies may have had a few words to customs themselves.

camgear will be $160.. cap $30 i think.. $190 + shipping.. i guess if i do get raped by customs it won't be heaps
