Rear R33/R32/R34 turbo rotors are the same I'm pretty sure, so the group buy would also suit rears on these cars. You might want to update the top so that people are aware of this.

R32 Manual Conversion Problem
predator replied to Psymon's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I had the same problem with my definite manual tailshaft.. and rb20box. Not sure what the go is there. When I did what BHDave suggested, it fitted up fine. -
there just as many dead or dying rb20's out there in my experience as anything else.
-
The circlips clip into the top of the box, and hold the shifter in. They will be part of the original box, and shifter.. you're meant to transfer them across. I don't think new shifters comes with new circlips. Take a photo of where the shifter goes into the box, and I can probably tell if they are missing or not.

stoopid thing.. counter is on big fat zero and nothing.. it looks like it's based on your system clock, not a proper server time. embarassing for the publishers if you ask me, to allow it to happen.

I would disagree with that.. The youth road toll is not any lower in the other states where similar measures have been introduced, many many years ago. VIC say, where I used to live , the road toll is the essentially the same as it was 5 years ago, and they have so many "safety initiatives" it totally restricts your freedom to drive. In fact, it was one of the reasons I left the place. It's all smoke and mirrors. People have a whinge and cry about it, the pollys eventually do something - but 2 years on, the amount of deaths is statistically the same. But then there is strange silence on it, when it doesn't actually change anything those few years on. Or suddenly the focus goes to something other thing that the latest piece of research says is the "major killer". So what I am saying is these don't actually effect any final result, and probably will not in this cirumstance here in QLD. All it will serve to do is just make people's lives more difficult. Instead of fast cars, kids just die in slower cars, the end result is the same. So why do something that is not actually going to save lives? How about QLD leads the way in Australia and tries different measures to reduce the toll. Driver training - not just bullshit "make your parents sit in the car for 100 hours", but training courses, programs, educational material. Make it the focus. See whether it works. But of course that costs lots of money. While it may be expensive, you only have to realise the amount it costs to hospitalise young people, or scrape them off the roads - and the cost looks less daunting. I would say even passing the costs to get your licence to the end user for this type of training is not a bad thing. It makes the process of getting a licence a difficult one financially, stops morons from getting their license, makes it a challenge, not a right to drive for everybody. Do some maths next time on this one too. See the "shocking holiday carnage on the roads!!" toll.. Work out the number in a year that die.. divide that number by the days of the holiday period. Compare these days to "any other" time in the year. Add the fact there may be twice as many people out there on the roads at these times, and the period is probably actually around the same, if not safer. Lies, lies and statistics.

Commodore Is Not The Best Car Ever
predator replied to craig V8 taffe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Come on, can't be all bad.. Half the country owns one, they don't look too terrible (agressive even) and they can clock up many hundreds of thousands of km, often never serviced, can be upgraded for more power fairly easily.. and they do have a high power-weight ratio compared to most other cars out there. The new ones don't even chew that much fuel for their size. If we didn't have commodores I don't know what else everybody would be driving. Large oversized, overfueled and overpriced 4WD ? Korean cars. 10+ year old japanese imports? camrys? magnas? They serve a useful purpose, and even though I'm not a huge aussie car fan, I have some respect for what they do given circumstance. -
Cheapest, Most Fun Track Day Car ?
predator replied to B-Man's topic in General Automotive Discussion
I think the only thing this thread does is show there are a lot of options - it's really just which car particularly appeals to you. And you'll have fun playing with it either way. -
I am not sure whether older people really are a menace on the roads, because you only have to look at the stats. Then again, stats can be made to lie to suit agendas. At the end of the day, they'll be seen to be doing something, but better driving training is the key - not just getting in the car with your parents and doing 'xxx' hours. Because you can spend 'xxx' doing whatever, but it doesn't mean it's productive. I think some of the moves will actually back-fire, especially the passenger rule - thinking back to when I just turned 18. You're at a party. Four of you get drunk, and the one sober guy decides to drive people home and be the designated drive. Ok, the other guys might make a ruckus and destract the driver, but that happens. At least you have a fair chance of getting home in one piece. Now what happens under this new rule? Only one passenger under 21, therefore maybe another one of the drunk guys decides to take the risk and drive home instead, as his mates can't give him a lift?

Cheapest, Most Fun Track Day Car ?
predator replied to B-Man's topic in General Automotive Discussion
pulsar for $2k.. CA18det sho'ed in for another $3k or so.. couple of $k on suspension. Would go pretty well (pushing 200kw) and weigh around 1000kg I think in the 1.3L you'd be lacking in torque on the GTI, and they are quite overpriced for an old car. Any old commo you could probably buy for $1-2k and spend another $5k on racing mods, and might be ok. -
absolute rubbish.. no lives will be saved. They've had these restrictions in place in VIC for a while now, and young people still kill themselves just as effectively. The road toll is manageable as is currently. There is always those that reckon "every life can be saved" but that is absolute rubbish. People will always die on the roads, no matter what extreme steps are taken. I drove my 4cyl shitbox at 180km/hr when I was 18 just to see if I could. Therefore that must have been safer because I wasn't driving a "high performance car" . It doesn't matter whether you drive a skyline or not, you do stupid things. Where are the "tough new restrictions on drugs" or "multi-million dollar budget towards mental health" ?? There aren't any, yet these things kill many many multiples times more young people each year than the roads ever will. The government needs to wake up to real issues in society effecting the lives of thousands of younger people, not bullshit knee-jerk reactions such as this.

They're resurfacing the road? what's so strange about that?

I Can't Delete Posts

why would you want to do that? -
Pretty interesting.. they're releasing F.E.A.R Combat, the multiplayer component totally free in a week or so for free download for PC. Guess they're trying to make it a cult following, along the lines of Counter Strike, etc. Wouldn't mind getting back into it, after I sold the game to some @#$@#$ on ebay who never paid me for it http://www.slicedgaming.com/news9421.html

Commodore Is Not The Best Car Ever
predator replied to craig V8 taffe's topic in General Automotive Discussion
How do they define that exactly I wonder? That the part was thought of in australia? Or... I'm just being cynical. -
I had an r31 GXE when I was about 20 for my second car.. did me well.. back then they were in the daggy basket that nobody cared about. Now it seems they're a popular first car.

I have here an RB30e block in excellent condition, untampered with and complete. It is the "series2" block with the correct provisions for oil return, oil feed, and coolant return required for building an RB30DET. I can almost guarantee* that this block as is, will handle 200-300rwkw without problems. Nice strong cast pistons. Slap on an RB25de or DET head, the other mods dicussed here and away you go. Rebuild later if you want forged pistons, etc. The R31 it came out of it was still running perfectly at 190,000km, the owner just decided to put a turbo engine in it. It has always been kept in a garage undercover. Flawless piston walls, piston crowns, etc. Still cranks easily by hand. Still has RB30e manual flywheel attached which you can probably also use. Ideal candidate for rb30det build. I was keeping it for future use, but unfortunately I've gotta move in about a month, and it needs to go ***SOLD*** (* no formal guarantee provided )

Does The R32 Skyline Have A Ff Axle
predator replied to Are_thirty_two's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I believe he means does it have a live axle, as opposed to IRS.. It has IRS.. -
reminds me of my friend who went from his R33 GTR, to a s5 RX7, which got stolen a month ago, to catching public transport around and owning no car at all. Don't let it happen to you!!
