  1. I wouldn't recommend it on a hard driven car as when you go over bumps it'll be scrumming out front and possibly back. But if you just drive it around on the street maybe it doesn't matter.
  2. Nissan does some funny stuff with its wiring, and I believe it is hand wrapped. Some of the black tape looks like a home job, but it's actually factory. Mine was the same. Red is probably extras somebody else has added on. It could be a CAS problem? A few have had that problem on rb20det's. I think the ECU determines the RPM / Tacho signal from the CAS as well.
  3. Yeah you can use the same clutch. I bought a decent clutch, but skimped on the gearbox for now. Mine will be about 230rwkw when I can afford to buy an EBC and get the PowerFC tuned. That's about as far as I am taking it (so I say now)
  4. he's talking about the rb20 box.. just give a try, mine seems ok.. I reckon its got another 50-80rkw in it.
  5. for f**ksakes ever heard of google? jesus christ.. 'xtreme clutch' first result..
  6. for f**ksakes wiring the factory computer is piss easy.. its not rocket science.
  7. i suggest you put a brick on your accelerator, and lock it up.. this will correctly cool your engine see..
  8. happy birthday andy! 2 days late but better late than never i guess..
  9. go search the tutorials area.
  10. I chucked it in the freezer for a few hours.. not sure if it made much difference, but it didn't seem too hard to push in
  11. It only stands to follow that there about 1/50th the amount of r34 on the road compared to r33, etc and that not many people have done this conversion. The price to convert any new car is much more more than the price of an old shitter, and finding the parts is a much more expensive proposition. If $3500 is true, its a bargain price if it is all that is required on a 34. I've only done this on an R32, not an r34, but it sounds like they are all the bits you'll need.. And the gertrag box? thats a 4WD box, and would require extensive / expensive mods to convert that to a RWD platform. Again, possible if you have thousands to spend, but if not... .
  12. anybody? would look great on an r33..
  13. Seven people have died on the Monash Freeway since 1 January 2000. it starts and stops there.. seven people is an absolutely miniscule amount compared to the amount of drivers that travel along that road each day
  14. It's gone on for years, restrict this, restrict that - but at the end of the day nothing is changing, nor will ever change too much more than has already been done from the massive changes in the 80's and early 90's. While its not a good thing to have young people die in car accidents, there are many multiples of what die on the roads from either suicide, or drug related deaths. Literally thousands a year, and it's no less tragic, and can have just as much far reaching impact, if not more so when you count the carry-on victims of crime, etc to support drug habbits. The priority and media focus is still on the wrong things at the end of the day.
  15. http://eu.playstation.com/ps3/ - full RRP prices on here and release dates
  16. yeah.. $1000.. steep price I think. $999AUD for 60gb hard drive or $829AUD for 20gb hard drive Not something you'd just lash out and buy spur of the moment, but more like 6 months of saving for it. People won't be flocking to it for a while I have a feeling. The price will be well above any of the other "next gen" consoles, and any obvious benefit? The 360 can display some pretty powerful games as well.
  17. thanks.. had a look at your site before... looks like a lot of work went into it. That's the thing, you can get a good site up for like 6-12 months, but to keep it going 2-3+ years takes a lot of dedication and motivation. When you start getting some money in, even if it's only $100 a month, then I reckon that's when i think you start getting motivated for the longer term - that "hey I might make some money off this"
  18. haha, reality sets in.. The stocker isn't too bad. Just get some pods (if you haven't already). There aren't too many options, I look around occasionally. Vertex has been done to death, and that skirty look to it I'm just not a fan.
  19. how much do they weigh?
  20. To be honest, if you're going o/s and when you come back have a lot of money to spend get a GTR. But if you want just a car you can customise a bit more, just keep the gts-t. I can help you do the rb25 if you want. It's just more of a challenge to turn it into a good all round machine, but I like a challenge. If you can't be bothered stuffing around with things, the GTR has it all in one already. Depends what you want to use the car for as well. It seems about 2/3 of GTR owners end up with a blown engine at some point, or are too scared to go to a track in case it does go. Usually sooner than later. With an rb25 it's at least a little lower on that ratio, and a lot cheaper to replace or rebuild if it does happen. I just think an old GTR = an expensive proposition.
  21. But you have to let it out again when all that nice cool air gets hot? that's why the japs do it reverse bonnet.
  22. It's quite funny.. The other day up here some (very) elderly woman ran through about two houses and into somebody's pool. She escaped.. and thankfully did not manage to injure anybody. She well could have killed somebody, or several people. Similar situation And the story was presented almost as a light hearted piece "awww, a little old lady got a little muddled and ended up in a pool". If it was a P plater, or even worse an import+p plater it would have been all over the shop. Two standards. It's not an isolated incident either. There are a heck of a lot of older 50+ drivers that are either killing themselves, or others out there, and the emphasis just isn't the same. Unfortunately with our country being run by oldies, and very little young people in parliament - there is no real reason to crack down on the older demographic or even look at that issue closely.
  23. oops.. better fix my skin.. I know why now
