They actually inspect the car after you already have a safety certificate? damn -- i thought QLD had the slackest inspections in Australia How are you meant to get it down to a transport office also if its not currently registered, and therefore not meant to be driven? Oh well, once I have it all sorted and the safety certificate, shouldn't be too much of a drama I hope. Thanx Glen. Let me know what you find.

did you remove the steering wheel to get to the facia to change over your stereo at all? like micko stated, the hicas sender is a disc that is located in the steering wheel. Its possible if the steering wheel was removed, this was not hooked up properly.

Its an R31.. why? is that a ripoff? :-s lot seem to go for $3k still, and this is otherwise a good example for its age. It does need the diff replaced ($150 for 2nd hand diff -- I'm going to try doing the changeover myself).

I can give you a hand also with the fuel pump as I did mine. I don't have a garage which makes it slightly more difficult, however if anybody does, and also wants to do a fuel pump change we can have a 2-for-1 day

Hey all.. I'm buying a 2nd skyline.. a R31 as a run about.. Now the guy is selling it unregistered and plates removed, although the rego is just about to expire. Don't worry I don't think this guy is dodgy (its another forum and he's active on there for a while). Now I was just wondering. What do i need to prove transfer of ownership? There is a standard transfer form, but that seems to be for transferring a vehicle that already has registration and a safety certificate. Which this won't. When the time comes, as I understand it I just go in with a CTP slip, a valid safety certificate, pay the rego+stamp costs, and they will be able to issue me new plates and away i'll be able to drive? yes? no? I have a written receipt from him, will that be enough down the track to state I bought the car when i go do the above? Or do I need anything else? Just hoping somebody on here who has bought older cars might be able to help me out, as I'm not fully familiar with how the system works up here. cheers

$1500.. all pretty straight and things.. has aircon, power steering, extractors, exhaust.. so not too shabby. needs a new diff though (clunk, clunk), so that better not be too difficult to do.. Will post some pix when i actually get it (probably this weekend)

yeah, i took a few, but they all turned out crap. I think i'm going to give up on attempting to take photos on these night meets, with the exposure you need they just turn out blury. noooo.. not my car! I officially put a ban on all photographs until I get it all fixed
