I was considering fitting my skirts and things myself (i mean its only 4 screws.. so hard), but i think i'll just do the speed holes and take them down to wherever and just say "you do it". Every bit you do yourself saves $ though. Even sanding back rough bits of the bar will help the panel shop. If they see it and first thing they say is "god.. so unready, heaps of work before we can even get it on" .. by then they've already decided to charge you big bickies.

lol - ok Zen Grasshopper.. that leaves it nice in the open! Did you have a chance to test fit the bar? Look good? Its very hard to tell until its actually on the car though all painted. My old bar i saw at Palm unpainted but fitted and it looked so-so. When i got it back it was unbelievably shiney and everything I still have to sand the other skirt back tomorrow.. i even had to cut out the "speed" holes in my new sideskirts as they come out of the mould filled. Took a bit of work.

as matt said.. hey, just read that last post .. cop trouble huh? doesn't sound good! yeah, to be honest I wasn't happy with the quality of my sideskirts that came out.. i had to spend an hour or so sanding it back today -- all the rough edges. Somebody said all DMD stuff came "pre-prepared". Not from what I got. Anyhow, will look good when done which is all i'm worried about.

smoke test should sus it out.. Even if you just get into the engine while its running and squeeze the throttle cable. If its really obvious (like in my case) you'll hear air escaping.

so it'll be more pronounced on light throttle.. but less obvious on full throttle -- which is what you were saying.

mindflux: sounds like it.. basically if you apply light throttle the boost will all leak out and will struggle to hit "full boost" where it should. If you boot it, generally the force will be enough to squeeze air through all the piping even if leaking, but it will still be down on what it should be doing. I experienced the same a couple of months ago. Ended up being my rubber intercooler elbow had split. Was pissing out heaps of boost (could literally feel it when I put my hand there). I mean I was getting 10psi of boost or whatever it was set to, it just wasn't doing it properly or efficiently and the turbo was working harder than it needed to. Replaced it and fine again.

yeah.. good car, even look good with a bit of a bodykit and the usual from a pretty much one-eyed import owner. If they were $20,000 I would buy one, unfortunately they're not. When they are, maybe I will About time Aussie cars went back to the turbo and realised the potential for killer performance at a cost thats not astronomical. While i'm here -- I'd like to know what Fords commitment to the turbo as a long term platform is however. I've seen rumours that suggest that the next XR6 won't be coming out as a turbo model as the sales of the XR6Turbo have not been high enough to warrant it as a separate entity in the ford stable and ? Any truth to that??
