  1. Problem is with the newer boards they are using smaller and smaller micron-processes in the main graphics GPU's and things. Much more complicated than the old days, and the technology in your average graphics board is so much advanced -- in a way they're almost mini-motherboards. They're probably so busy churning the latest architecture to market to keep up with the "other guys" and the lifespan is so much shorter, probably not as much time for comprehensive R&D over longterm reliability. Least it translates into cheaper cost which is the main thing. I'd rather have 2x $300 boards that give me 24 months use and stay up to date, than one $600 which is so out of date in 24 months it doesn't matter
  2. You've either got a long time to sell it, or put on a cover and just start it twice a week for a few mins. Problem is with heavy rain the cover will tend to just stick to the car, after a while that might damage the paint. Rust or even mildew type stuff can also build up under the cover also. Car covers aren't really ideal, especially for a long time. Tyres will tend to go also if rims are not removed and not put on blocks. So either put some crappy tyres on there, or be prepared to buy 4x new tyres in 12 months.
  3. hey ben, i can give you a lift again if you want.. no worries!
  4. Maybe he has stumbled upon his task of finding the Secret Island of Lesbos? Where lots of wild women are attending to his every need.. and like s'if he's gonna come back here after discovering that
  5. lol, who let you guys out of the cage especially that crazy Kiss looking character.. just can't keep it in his mouth can he? Some funny pics there. Looks you boyz had fun..
  6. shane: nexus has gone.. but yeah.. 12 months only generally on hardware. Time to buy a new one unfortunately. Luckily you can get a very good card for pretty cheaply these days.
  7. Well Nismo would have maybe built some for racing possibly? Otherwise its probably the Nismo LM GTR they're talking about...
  8. I've just found its better not to say too much. Argue where you are 100% correct on the law or make something up, and otherwise just hope he's feeling nice.
  9. yeah.. they can defect you for opening your mouth you know
  10. I've been defected once out of 5 pullovers.. and that time my ex was driving my car and I have no idea how she was actually driving it. So usually I've been lucky.
  11. well mine might be 50% tread left so maybe i'm exaggerating a little, but another 10,000km they wouldn't be roadworthy i don't think. Fun for sliding though, just give them another 10k and drifto..
  12. haha.. some days you just can't win. They pull you over and they're gonna give you that defect whether you were jesus himself
  13. huh?
  14. you mean burnouts don't add rubber to your tyres? nah, I don't even do too much of that to be honest, just ZE326 are cheap tyres. Somebody said "they're good for their price"... they're not...
  15. lol.. mine just came with the car so no idea whether they are doing any difference, thats all Seem to stop me nicely enough, but still get a bit of brake fade after heavy use. My rear tyres are starting to get fugged though so brakes probably aren't the biggest stopping concern on mine.. got a lot of life out of *those* tyres 15,000 I reckon if I'm lucky.
  16. $520 isn't too bad for slotted.. If you can catch me unawares you can steal mine strutto Belgarion: could be? But still, you'd have to be pretty unlucky to get defected for that. Haven't heard anybody in australia getting defected for that. But i'm sure a cop could try it. In VIC they tried "exhaust too big".. lol
  17. hey, watching Who Wants to Be a Millionaire with the Internet in front of you is cheating a little
  18. ...only if it comes with a turbo attached
  19. hey i need mine back yamutha33 i'm crawling around here!
  20. I'd probably wait anyhow.. if I'm getting timing belt, camgear, etc done at Gavin Wood -- would get him to chuck it on the dyno. I'm just trying to picture my car all fixed up, now I have the sideskirts sitting here I'm all excited getting it all finished.. and i have a top secret silly idea to go with it yup, thats good. Trust is important in a business. I've experienced some bosses that are fanatical about every little decision .. never gets people anywhere.
  21. I think they can do it in 3rd or 4th. Most dynos I've been on they've done it in 3rd. Yeah, that dyno looks more backyard than... well a dodgy backyard dyno. My car wouldn't even fit up that ramp! Mine could pull anywhere from 150rwkw to 190rwkw. Last one was 188rwkw but I don't actually know how much they can go "out" of tune to be honest. Like in 6 months how much it could have dropped? no idea Cheers mate.. If you want me to drop in so if he wants to meet me at all, its just across the river -- no dramas. Might have another job 1-2 days as well at a company called mantis technology (web design), so hey, I might even be working 5-6 days a week. Would be nice
  22. it doesn't "pay" to be disappointed really . ..get it ? ok, pathetic, time to eat my food
  23. so i'd probably put out a whopping 160 at the rears.. meh.. can only be disappointed
  24. dyno.. $35.. even i might be able to afford that But mine needs tuning really
  25. haha.. i'll have to check out your zany abstract SAU sticker on thursday
