  1. i got mine just on the door below the mirror on the passenger side. It's cool, because you can actually see people when they are checking out the sticker I've seen quite a few people check it out -- probably wondering what crazy street racing gang I am part of or something. Its funny, especially the old codgers.
  2. is she hot? lol.. runs away
  3. if its all fully closed you'll get blowback which isn't too good for the turbine compressor.. you might get turbo flutter which is kinda cool to some
  4. yeah.. hate being a whitey. white -> red -> white again.. maybe some slightly less shade of white but thats about it. lol.. kind of like waking up drunk huh?
  5. Got a pair of original D-speed sideskirts (see the sticker ) painted in AN0 (the skyline marone) Pretty rare, and very rarely seen outside of japan (well I haven't seen them) -- see www.dspeed.co.jp for details. Go nicely with a GTR style bar, or even the stocky. Fairly subtle, but a nice edge and something different. sideskirts03.jpg shows a small crack that was repaired on the LHS. Looks a bit dodgy due to the touchup paint I used, but will definitely come up A1 after a sand back and full spray (LHS will need it). Only got a photo of the one I've got off my car at the moment, the other is still on there The other is in better condition paintwise and may not even need a respray if you have the same colour car. Neither should need much prep so your panelshop should love you. Asking $270 to start. Definite preference for Brisbane or S.E. buyers however may consider shipping later if they haven't sold. Interested: PM or 0417 016 326
  6. yeah, i know but just want something bit cheaper and faster -- and to make it faster would cost me another $5k, as its already maxed out really with the stock turb .. would like to buy a house soon and considering importing a couple of cars b4 the 15 year rule to turn a few quick bux -- if its at all going to be possible before they end it. Would still be a nissan turbo - just more around $12k than $20k.
  7. Going to chase some panel shops up this week. Hopefully book it in next week if I can. So not too long. Wing stays. In fact once I get it all fixed up, may well be putting it up forsale -- so no point stuffing with it too much. lol - yeah drifto style - if only the reality was so glamourous.. hence my sig
  8. not too traffic island friendly though! going to have to watch that thanx Photoshopping is kinda my gig.. but not getting me work in that area at the moment. I am sure they will look much better once painted... i just kind of stuck them there (notice the sticks ) I'm amped to go and find some panel shops now, just get it all finished and back to "normal". Will do that next few days. Its been some 3 months I've had to drive it along all stuffed up like that.
  9. ..but in good news.. NEW SIDESKIRTS!! Ended up getting blitz ones as they fill the line a lot better and come down low like the front bar. Should look pretty tough onces its all fitted. Ended up being $350 which was a bit more than what I wanted to pay (was expecting $300), but as long as they come up nicely doesn't really matter. Here is my amazing "artists" rendition.. Bit hard to picture them on though.
  10. smooth: too late. Just got back.. I was down there earlier. **** that area is a BROTHEL. I was paranoid about my car getting wiped out by trucks, crazy tradeys and god knows who else. Worst possible street for it, so narrow, no room for parking, etc and you can barely get into the actual workshop car area itself to park. Be very careful if you go down its seriously dangerous.
  11. why move back? QLD is the best state in Australia Not the easiest when you move states as I'm experiencing. I came up by myself 3 months ago and don't know heaps of people, but eventually it will all sort itself out. I've been there before. Just gotta stay focused. If things are bad, just chill out for a while, go down, sit on the beach, watch the beautiful women, and remind yourself why its so good up here. Whatever doesn't kill you makes you stronger!
  12. I blame it on reality TV now mindflux: don't go killing anybody now will you? I should go down to DMD and pick up my sideskirts, nice day for it!
  13. Yes, boost controllers are illegal. But i'm sure there are people out their having accidents and get their insurance claim accepted even with them on. Depending on the state some modifications are legal.. in fact quite a few actually are as long as you follow the set guidelines. Different exhaust system, tinted windows, different ride height, different rims, different steering wheels, different intercooler, etc can all be perfectly legal -- at least speaking from VIC and QLD where I've lived. All seem to be fine based upon both what the local transport registration office says and even the EPA *without* an engineers, but I know plenty of cops that don't think that way. But the cops aren't the law, even though they often think they are. They're just the enforcers of the rules laid down by others. Pity they can't get them right half the time. The QLD approach is reasonable -- least they have a brochure that actually says what is legal and what isn't. What is a "minor" modification, and what is a major (e.g. requiring engineers). See here: http://www.transport.qld.gov.au/qt/driver....difications.pdf Now if all states could follow this lead by simply producing a simple brochure, the understanding on the issue would be a damn site better. But considering VIC and NSW which rely on defect revenue, having the issue grey of course helps their agenda
  14. 51jay: I'd definitely agree with you there. In 10 years when young people are still driving 25 year old hotted up S13 around and they're still selling for $10k, then we'll have our lovely government to blame. Well at least I know I did make an effort and sent in a submission.
  15. I was back on the goldcoast saturday.. wasn't too bad. Few leaves everywhere but no signs of devastation Sunday was nice and sunny. Nothing like up in Brisbane the other week where I literally did see 2x cars crushed by trees in the local neighbourhood. Oh well, back to normal. Although I remember reading that the Gold Coast hasn't had a proper storm/cyclone for something like 30 years and is due for one.
  16. yowch.. sun bad..
  17. I'm a tightass so use the Mobil1 SemiS stuff. Seems fine, seeing as i'm pretty hardcore on the changes on every 5k -- bit expensive $55 or so each time for the full synthetic. SemiS is usually only $32 or so.. It does say "designed for turbo charged engines". Probably not as good for the engine as fully synthetic but my engine is still running strongly.
  18. lol.. good one.. and i'll add:
  19. Don't like the bar of the vertex for some reason. Widebody looks awesome.. but the costs?? you'll need to get the rears welded in, and then the whole car resprayed wouldn't you? Or am I missing something? Also, don't forget, in that shot thats about 1mm off the ground like many jap cars. Looks great like that, but try picturing it 10cm or so off the ground. Might look funny. Even if you lowered it to 0cm clearance , just imagine trying to actually drive it anywhere -- wouldn't last long before you killed it on a drivethrough or whatever. The practicalities just dont seem so good. and being in VIC... cops soo love lowered cars there of course.
  20. Nothing wrong with mild steel if you get it done cheaply. Just make sure you fully HPC, paint, or somehow protect it.. As they can and will rust. Once it starts it won't stop either.
  21. I've always had no probs using Mobile 1 semi-synth in mine. Motul is expensive though isn't it?
  22. Some great info there floody You really know your stuff on the R31 ! Yeah, i should have pointed out the Passage had the pillarless windows and has quite a few differences. Its not really "like" the aussie one, but closer than the other ones. My old GXE had velour interior, was very nice... one that is up on that in the Passage would be even better. I think like a lot of older models that age or older, the Japanese like to play with them, do them up for retro charm, and they're becoming "cool" again. I'd say in a few years in Japan they might be selling for more than they are now even. Does anybody know what say a Passage or GTS-X are like to drive compared to the aussie one in terms of handling and things? I remember going back to my old car, it wasn't the greatest, but then again I didn't have much power either. Once I stepped into the R33, the R31 handling (aussie wise at least) seemed about 20 years behind, but then again 8 years can make a big difference in that regard.
  23. yeah.. watch the gearbox. If its dodgy, its only gonna get worse and they're not cheap to replace, or recondition for that matter. Give it some stick and it'll get worse rapidly. Keep looking I say.. and don't be so picky on colours, or it being 95 Otherwise you will be looking for ages. Everybody wants black.
  24. Ironic considering Australia was one of the only countries that didn't sign the Kyoto Agreeement.. So the way I see it the Australian Liberal Government really doesn't give a shit about the environment. So why they singling out this I don't know.
  25. Way to go with digging an ancient thread.. My car was imported already modified by the previous owner.. thousands of dollars of stuff on there. If the option was ever available I'd prefer to bring in a modified car, but of course that isn't now possible. In fact, I probably wouldn't bother importing myself these days unless it was like a car that was fairly new anyhow (R34 GT-T, latter model R33 GTR) or something very specific I was after. Seeing as it has to be stock, it better be good in stock form. Importing a stock R33 GTS-T for $18k isn't too attractive to me, and if I wanted to modify it another $10k to even get it handling and performing half decently. Now things such as 180sx, s13, R33, R32 and things just aren't worth importing if you ask me as there is too much locally at equivelent prices. You end up paying more to import basically so unless you're looking at around the $30k bracket hardly seems worthwhile. So the government has already done what it set to acheive, and and that is kill the demand. Already specialist importers that were doing a booming trade before the RAWS scheme, and those dealers that were starting to offer a few imports in conjunction with their regular 2nd hand stock, seem to be less and less these days. So already they have helped destroy a few businesses (whether possibly shonky or otherwise). Thing is government makes a hell of a lot more money on a 2nd hand import, compared to the sale of a local car.. but still they want to kill it.. stupid ****s Just remember this come federal election time folks!
