  2. meh.. i moved up 1700km .. beat that
  3. no you have to say "hi, I'm matt, and you're an skyline addict"- then you have it right!
  4. hi wados! thanks for the tip.. yeah, not too sure.. i really should get it replaced, and i really *should* put my order in to nengun for the bits and pieces i am getting, but i'm kinda poor at the moment.. and also want to get my car all painted back up so i can sell it quickly if i want - so there goes $1k at least.
  5. quiet suburbs are nice.. i live in the city but as i'm new to Brisbane don't know too many people either. Never have been a city boy so i don't know why the hell i am living right in the city again! stupid me.
  6. i might have to hold off on the cruises..and even driving to the meets for a while.. I really am getting too nervous about my timing belt.. no sign its been changed and i'm up to 95,000km (supposed) km. Don't want to drive it much, definitely not give it heaps of stick.
  7. genesis: lucky.. last g/f i'd floor it and she'd scream.. it was really screwed up, luckily that didn't last long.. new interior panel?
  8. genesis32.. you're brave.. you do know what the typical female does once you start actually driving the skyline properly They all scream and winge and stuff, takes the fun right out of it!

    Club Update

maybe you should run like a poll or something to get a show of hands "who would be willing to participate in regular SAU Queensland club?". And maybe at a suggested membership rate when it goes ahead. That willl give you a good idea of the numbers you are looking at, and also the likely budget you will have to get all this stuff done? It will also give you a good idea of the sorts of activities that can be planned and things like that. Just a suggestion? Just on the regular Thursday meets there have been 20 or so cars, which has been great -- and its been "revolving" a little so that some haven't been able to make it, but others have turned up to make up for it. So there are quite a few out there that will be interested in the official QLD club i think.
  11. reps... lol.. mine is staying well and truly off.. cbf
  12. hmm...well i've only been here 3 months but I've never seen any cops use any of those sorts of undercover cars. OR too much street racing either. They're out to catch a certain type of people.. young guys hanging around in big groups and just doing stupid street racing or burnouts late at night in known areas. If you're not in those categories you should be right.
  13. do a search.. its been covered.. otherwise just look up yellowpages "automotive paint wholesalers" for somewhere close to you -- they mainly deal with panel shops and sell all the paint, thinners, fillers, sandpapers, etc, etc that they all use, but will deal with the public if you turn up and ask them a few questions. Thats all I did when I need to track down some touchup paint.
  14. just unscrew.. if not force a flat head under them.. seeing as you dont need to worry about the old bonnet just to go to town on them worst comes to worst jigsaw them out ..or put that crowbar to good use..hehe
  15. er... what is a 240k.. and c210 ? post some pics - i doubt many know what they are even are?
  16. yeah.. exactly - you would have done them.. all those stupid bits of fibreglass are a pain in the ass.. my replacement front bar last year: $900 . Can end up costing just as much as the damn mechnicals.. woohoo.. now i don't have to explain it to 50 people again!
  17. ska: whole rack bent? hmm, now looking quite expensive. Steering arm is one thing, but a whole replacement steering rack is not an easy job. Feel for you man nexus: me? nah, just search VIC and search for "And you thought Gordo's bad luck had ended" thread..
  18. bonnet: bonnet makes the car look tough.. Seats: you sit in the car every day.. want something nice and comfortable. I'd probably go towards recaros, Brides or something over GTR seats (which are rocks). I forget the R31 seats.. but if they are decent enough, get em retrimmed and reupholstered in leather or something if they are reasonable shape and you like them. What about rollcage might need it.. lol
  19. ahhh...the memories: I could explain it again, but after the 50th telling it gets a little boring unfortunately.
  20. haha.. true.. only me ! one in a million thing.. even at the time i was thinking "this can't be true.. am i dreaming?!" My door was one second ago perfect.. now its at right angles. and my window, and that tint that I was really annoyed about that scratch only a few minutes before was lying 20metres down the road in a sticky blob on the ground.
  21. yeah.. you're right too lwells I've heard RAWS compliance plates are rare as hens teeth and the number of people that want to bring in a SEVS GTR won't be matched by the supply. Something will give eventually. Gotta loove our government...
  22. hehe..my car is kind of unique, but for the wrong reasons at the moment hey were you the guy last thursday with the black sorta curly afro?
  23. man, i'm giving up on avatars tonight.. all too difficult :wavey:
  24. :looks around.. me? nah.. you got it confused with the other guy with the marone 33 and funny doors. Dont you see them all the time? hehe rolleyes:
  25. EnricoPalazzo is right ... the difference is $3500 or so between SEVS and non-SEVS. Ok you do maybe have to factor in cost of replacement genuine pads, tyres, etc under SEVS which adds up, but its shouldn't be a killer if you really want a *nice* GTR and can afford it. Personally..speaking for me -- the only reason I'd get a 1989 GTR is to fully restore it from the ground up: engine, body, everything as a project. And because you can't find a GTR thats in one piece for that here, may as well get the cheapest possible example you can find. I am tempted I'll admit. Otherwise you may as well just buy an s13 or something and drive it into the ground..
