  1. Pity.. but guess u gotta go in with the attitude "its not a show car, i drive it nearly every day", you'll always get a few small stone chips and the like. i used to worry so much at every little scrape.. now i couldn't give a crappa.. p.s. nexus.. tried getting out the back carpark when i was leaving - no friggin chance! ended up reversing all the way back when i saw the angle.. front way i managed to get out though without a scrape so all good
  2. ba.. i can't even find the stupid right text to = avatar.. thats it, i'm going to bed
  3. AFM probably. Its not speedo related I don't *think* as I've driven around with the whole speedo cluster removed without problems.
  4. btw: did people miss this avatar or what? I think its so cool :Saddam:
  5. ooo..new look..so maybe some good will come out of this. yeah, thats the thing motivating me to get mine fixed. If i can get the new sideskirts fitted it will make the car a fair bit different to look at, so while i already know what it looks like "non-multicoloured", have no idea how it will exactly look with the whole 400R kit. Will look a lot more consistent too.
  6. haha..classy.. the custom tool is always fun.. Once i made up a longer screwdriver with a stick and some sticky tape! to get at this screw way down in the engine bay.. lol.. so classy
  7. haha.. good work.. go the crowbar!! To be honest, a lot of the time what the smash repairers use is not much more elegant. If you can can get it back to "paintable" state thats the main part.. Then the paint isn't *too* much. Even if you just take the panels to them, and fit them back yourself later you can save a couple of hundie.. although there is issues with matching, "smoothing" and things they keep saying to me. Damn hail damage, storm damage and everything else!! If its not one thing its another. I had the same problem last winter in Melb. Panel beaters are full of excuses - another thing I've found Anyhow -- good luck man.. You learn plenty..
  8. Man, I'm so gonna tell the admin this breach of the rules.... lol
  9. haha.. well i've actually done of my most creative work on (not in..lol) my car with a few beers to hand. man, you're a whore chaos.. you manage to out whore me which is a good effort!
  10. well i think it should be a little personal choice.. nobody is forcing anybody to donate or feel guilty about not. The whole idea of a donation is that its voluntary. Prank did have a big donation drive back November after all, many people donated then (and i'll add i did then ). But its definitely something for later, when an official membership or something is organised that $xx of each membership goes towards the site owners.
  11. /looks around.. did somebody mention *beer* ?? yeah, while its tempting to take the cheaper option. I think its probably a good idea in this case to get it repaired professionally, it is your steering afterall and an important part of the safety, etc of the car. If you can track down a 2nd hand control arm, would you be able to just replace the bushes?? They are just rubber doova-hickeys aren't they?
  12. sweet mate.. thanx for posting that. Stuff like that is always invaluable. Which reminds me: there should be a sticky for useful places/workshops/skyline useful places for QLD where stuff like this can go.
  13. meh.. get it checked out.. don't believe for a 2nd that the km on your car may not have wound back and actually be over 100,000km. Its not worth the risk.
  14. hey good one rrrage.. he's owned before anybody else even got a post in ! :highfive:
  15. of course...dealers are stocking up on absolutely everything they can find to line their own pockets before the government puts a stop to it. Which should be hmm, 2 - 3 months time. Mr Ocumura who has this crapped out 1989 car sitting in his garage for the last 10 years is probably grinning ear to ear. Imagine if 1989 VN Commodores suddenly become "cool" in like Uzebekistan and suddenly that rusted out and pox-box sitting out in your garden could suddenly be sold to somebdoy right across the world you're never going to even see for double what its worth. I've already seen a couple of GTR advertised locally by dealers as 1989 that are here - would be interesting to see the sticker price on them and/or condition
  16. yer, lol ... i'll be sure to charge you twice as much as well well i gotta pay DMD a visit myself sometime this week, i'll tell them to answer their phone next time for money spending clients
  17. definitely.. I am now working at Umart with Chris / Nexus9 at southport.. so will be down here a few days each week, and that will be just around the corner. I just need to pick up my 400R skirts (next few days), then its ready to go to a paint shop.
  18. seriously.. don't drive it at all except to a garage! sounds 90% chance the timing belt..or idler tensioners. If the timing belt snaps your engine will be in serious trouble. Is the car up to or around 100,000km ?
  19. Dont think they're actually in the whitepages (when i looked), but they are at: 8 jones rd, capalaba. 32451555 There a few other places in an older thread people mentioned too - search is your friend
  20. oh mindflux: you got a 32.. scratch what i said..but sounds like same problem.
  21. There is a vent in the heater box.. which is below the entire dash. Have a look at my "how to pull entire dash apart" and "how to replace heater core" to see how to fix it and how it all works. Your actuator for the vent down the bottom inside the box is broken. Thats what the clicking is. I got them off my old box if you like sitting around - $30 and yours. Zoix: same problem.. just replace the little black actuator (motor) adn you're fine.. its just getting to the bitch which is the problem.. Hey Matty.. you got a place lined up for your paintwork? Do they want to do a skyline group discount?? I want mine done in next 2-3 weeks.
  22. I'm with Smooth. Went there and wasn't impressed by the prices they quoted me for a couple of things. I've heard Cresta in Capabala is the place to go for parts and decent prices. Depends what you're buying, but a bit of a trip up the M1 might be worthwhile.
  23. Exactly.. whole reason for the auction sheet! While there are a few sharks out there, I think most will not go and bid on a car for a buyer unless the buyer is fully aware of the possible problems with that particular car.. or bid on a shitty car without stressing this to the buyer. In the end its their business reputation that suffers.
  24. I reckon you just wait until they've got a court order to have the cop escort show up and take it away That gives you plenty of time to take the bits off, but you'd still be out of a stack of money.
  25. Stones Corner right?
