Who makes this Rear GTR Blade
predator replied to YO880's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
do you mean the same one I have on mine?? looks like this... or on my car... If you look closely you might be able to spot some strange people in the background -
haha, well i am, although i tend to whore right across the forums. Since i originally came from VIC and know most of the guys there, I can whore there two. I have a natural advantage There is a meet tonight.. but its brisbane area.
-
alternators can do that when the bearings go shoddy.. that is not so cheap to fix (few $ to get a new one). starters generally just go "grind" and then go completely, but it hasn't happened on my 33 yet.
-
of course its illegal if its not plumbed back (although try to explain that to the officer).. first thing another member of our forums got picked on when he got pulled over was his BOV. Both myself, and his car were inspected and erm, yeah.. all the got him on was the BOV. They're not a good idea, and anything external cops can see/hear from a distance, or close up, they *will* ping you for it. Often the stealth approach works well. I think the standard defect cost is $125 fine. Get 3x of them, and that BOV is costing you more than its worth.

Where To Buy R33 GTR - Heavily Modified
predator replied to IMACUL8's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
i went looking with my friend a bit, and you're right, good examples were hard to find but you do find them. My friend picked up a 33GTR V-spec .. few rough bits but stockish for $33k about 2 months ago. V-spec, as much accident history as probably any other and seems to be running fine since he got it. Attached is a pic so you can see the at least external condition and know i'm not full of crap -- as many will say "oh you can get a 33GTR for low 30's" without much evidence to back it up. Its true, you can if you get lucky, and that is why people go "why pay $40k+ for one". Its for those one or two that are out there, and we looked at a few when i was living in VIC. NSW is a strange market, even 32 and 33 which are difficult to sell at good prices in VIC seem to go fairly regularly for sale on here, more than anywhere else. So I guess there is more demand there. So bargains can be had out there, many people are desperate for cash often when they do sell and its often the only way to get themselves out of the debt. That is often one of the advantages of private sales, there will always be one "desperate" seller out there for what you're after if you look for a few months. -
no aircon in this place.. hot as a bastard on heat.
-
yeah.. its damn hot.. and i'm inside thankfully.. but i can just feel the heat from outside getting in even with all the windows closed, etc. the thermometer outside reads 38!

Where To Buy R33 GTR - Heavily Modified
predator replied to IMACUL8's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Hmmm, the thing is there are people out there paying that amount. There must be, otherwise people wouldn't bother trying to get these prices. Older or business folks with plenty of money, where its not really an object, and time is the main issue. And hell if you sold one for $10-20k over what you bought it for you're laughing aren't you. Do that one or twice a year its a pretty nice suplement to your income.. so i see *why* people do it. One thing is I definitely *have* noticed with GTR, is that the prices reflected for modifications are much higher, even though to be honest a lot of the parts are no more inherently expensive than the GTS-T equivelent. I could take everything off my GTS-T (ok, not everything would fit granted), put it onto any GTR in about a week and it would fetch maybe $10k for a GTR instantly where as with my -T would be maybe $3-4k over a stock car. Same items, different car, strange! And it some cases its not like a boost controller, suspension, etc is inherently more complicated for a GTR. Not everything sure, just it seems the increased costs of labour on a GTR are reflected in the end price for modified cars. You pay a premium for all aspects of owning one. Also, people owning a GTR take it to a workshop and their eyes light up "a guy with money" and will charge them a lot more. You definitely need to know your stuff if you have a GTR I think to avoid being charged to death. There are many buyers out there who jump straight to a GTR never owning a skyline in their life. They are the ones that go to a big name performance shop that specialise in GTR: "hmm, turbo upgrade - $10k.. hmm, expensive but i guess that is what they cost". In the end this gets reflected in the end price for a well modified example. -
Was it actually too low, or were they just saying that? Its always good to know exactly, then you can say "get out the ruler, I *know* its legal".. then they defect you for something else better watch it, they'll fine you for comments like that

okz... digging successful here we go.. These were with my old camera so you'll have to excuse the quality. The 3rd photo shows the tank cover with the lid removed.. the 2nd shows the stock pump assembly removed and what it looks like The 1st pic is how I rigged up the new 910 before putting it back in the tank and putting everything back together again. Here is the exact thread i was talking about, unfortunately with no photos anymore: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...00&page=1&pp=25 Basically the procedure is this: 1. Get into boot near battery. 2. Use socket extender with a hammer (tapping) or some ghetto method to unscrew the jaw leading to the tank. This has to twist off (just like a jar top), and is fiddly. Proper way is via a custom tool, however a gear puller may work if you have one. 3. Remove rubber inlet and outlet fuel hoses going into tank. Unclip electrical plug 4. Remove lid, whole pump slots into a bracket inside. Should all come out as one piece, bracket and pump if you pull gently. Can now take it away and work with it somewhere suitable. 5. Remove old pump from bracket. 6. Remove fuel hose from metal feeder hose going to bump. 7. Gently pull off the plastic connector, and sock filter from bottom of old pump. 8. Use sufficient hose to go from bottom of new pump to fit over plastic bit of the filter. May need to shave the old tabs of the filter off. Use small hose clamps to secure top and bottom (shown). You want the distance of the reach/angle of the filter to be able the same distance as the old pump. 9. Connect banjo connector to top of pump. Connect the rubber feed hose to this connector. 10. Secure new pump to bracket. I found that one thick hose clamp did the trick. 11. Slot new pump+bracket assembly into position in tank. Be sure to align filter/draw point to angled left side of the tank (same position as old pump). 12. Reconnect all hoses, plugs, etc. Give it a run with the jar off, then do up tightly. All of this will make more sense when you actually start pulling it apart. Warning: Note that I can't guarantee the method I used is a very professional or the "best" way to do it, but after months mine is still working perfectly. I must have got the draw angle correct too as it will go right to yellow fuel light without falling over. Will not be responsible for your self immolation!! Petrol is dangerous!

if you want a bit of a rough guide.. try auctions.yahoo.co.jp .. use babelfish.altavista.com to translate. -
They're not too far apart actually.. generally trams would be best that side of town and should get you between those places pretty quickly. u can try http://www.yarratrams.com.au or http://www.victrip.com.au/ (good luck deciphering!)

keep it in ur pants!! on the topic though... Nude cricketers caught 'out' by police 29 June, 2000 London: Four men enjoying a game of night-time nude cricket were caught out by British police after a member of the public reported them, authorities said on Thursday. A west Yorkshire police officer broke up the game at Scholes Cricket Club near Huddersfield, Northern England, in the early hours of the morning after receiving a complaint about the naked antics. "Nobody was arrested or anything, it was just a matter of giving them some advice regarding their conduct," said a spokesman for West Yorkshire police. It was not known whether the men, whose game was broken up at 4.15 am local time (3.15 GMT) on June 19, played cricket without clothes on a regular basis, he added.

oh there, i know where that is too, and i'm a QLD n00b but unfortunately as I'm coming down to Drag combat i think that is my budget and travelling for the week, so won't be coming this thursday. Hopefully it can be a regular and rotatey thing

yes: jvs007 speaks the truth sky32t: if you read the posts a little more closely, it should be covered in there.. basically some thick hose can be used to extend the filter to the bottom of the tank where the original one did sit .. hose clamps can be used to attach the pump and to sit it correctly on the bracket. You will probably need banjo connectors depend on how your pump comes, which may require a visit to Earls, Enzed, or another hose specialist. Those threads should be in the FAQ section, in much a lot of stuff should thats trailing down and you have to search for pages and pages to find what you're looking for .. mods!!

sweet, we made this wasteland into "...Last Page" status! Feels proud.. nexus: hmm, i'm meant to be calling you right about now aren't i? better get offline so i can!
