Do you rely on your line to pull girls for you? Be honest
predator replied to pentae's topic in General Automotive Discussion
haha, probably..they just expect more.. pentae: lol .. that is probably why my last g/f was 21  I think older chicks also tend to like newer cars as well by that stage. I know a mate who was sucked into buying a brand new car, even though his old car was only 2 years old! just because of the rantings of his g/f.. and she was the type that could never afford one herself. Scary thing is now they're getting married  They definitely like whatever car to look clean and shiny, no matter what sort of car it actually it is. That maybe comes first, how the guy takes care of the car, not actually what it is. Maybe its something to do with, if the guy takes care of the car, he will take care of her?? And chicks always have this thing about changing them to make them the centre of attention, rather than the car, as the relationship progresses. Buying what "she" wants rather than he wants. So many blokes drive ****ing girly cars simply because of their women.. its very true! -
well who is that big bloke there standing around? he looks like the possible driver?

... haha.. i'm next knore.. i just need the PFC and turbo.. just wish i had another $3k right now -
..a GTR owner perhaps?
-
Didn't do a very good job of the number plate.. its either PEx-x33 or BEx-x22 and the 2nd x could either be a 9 or an 8 .. black GTS-T .. cops could pick it up pretty quick on their system.. When he's back in the defect state an EPA notice could be a bit of a bummer with that turbo there..

What a knob.. thats all i can really say. He was taking it for a test drive ? WTF? Always wondered whether roll cages worked.. It is "Fate, it seems, is not without a sense of irony" -get it right
-
I'd just get a 32 GTS-T for around $11k or so? but import yourself. Local ones are hovering around $14k (or even more) which i think is a bit much. Thats not much more than the budget is it, and not going to make much difference to buying the house or not at all right?? Buy the car, Buy the house, and have the best of both worlds

Southport last Saturday; Ident yourself
predator replied to knore's topic in General Automotive Discussion
hehe.. since i have moved up I have noticed its rather pretentious at times in terms of down there, just like it has always been i guess... and Fri/Sat nights is pretty much lap fest in Surfers.. but hey, thats the GC for you! -
well i guess the 910 I put in my tank 6 months ago is going to blow up anyday now.. funny because its been working fine.. no point going overkill. The 910 should be good for 270rwkw (450hp = 335kw = ~ 268rwkw)

doesn't it mean "like the wind" ? yeah, i reckon it looks awesome.. you must get plenty of looks when driving it around! p.s. strutto stop causing trouble, 'cause i wanna start some lol -
Its almost a joke isn't it.. now if you think about it, I mean sure skylines get in accidents, but its not like the majority - it seems they base their premium on the fact that the majority of turbos are going to be in an accident at least once a year! Makes you wonder about other cars though - they're either get in much much less accidents (hmm, still doubtful on that one), or somebody is just trying to fleece certain people for as much as they can!

Well definitely a lot of interest here.. amazing, people do read the QLD forums I think its just a matter of planning a route, that a large number of people its not too out of the way for, its a reasonable time, and giving PLENTY OF NOTICE.. i think that is the main key. At least 2-3 weeks notice, not "oh I'm going down here tonight, anybody want to meet up". Sundays is good for me usually. I'll come down to Coomera if its a once a fortnight thing, its not far.. and its fairly open area around there for mucking about later on. But I'm not going anywhere for a while because I'm a bit poor The other option is to get some more hardcore cruisers who want to try the mountains as a smaller group some nights. Sometimes late night runs can be excellent, because you get the cooler conditions to make your turbo go zip, and less cop and traffic troubles... but I'm not sure I guess you want to watch out for kangaroos this part of the world! That was never a problem in VIC

Funny thread.. i think bonzelite is possibly hermaphrodite! either that or Martha Stewart or something who's on acid or something.. how many wives do you own Bonz ? I think once you hit about 25 its all over as the skyline actually being an attractor to women. When you're like 18 and stuff, probably most guys can only afford a pov-box, and to be seen to be driving something that is "desireable" to them and way out of their price range at such an age gets them all excited and probably will get you the chicks. Even just things such as electric windows or climate control is like a whole new thing to them. I know back then i knew guys/often my mates had nice cars and it seemed to work.. Its funny sometimes because I don't really notice it as most people i know are my age i guess, but when i see the reaction of younger women, see them on the street or just speaking to younger people, it takes me back to those days and imagine just how much putti I could'a pulled and how easy it would have been driving my car - its funny the reaction "wow, such a nice car, whats it got done, is it a GTR, blah, damn blah". Personally couldn't give a ****, because to me its just a skyline. Its more like "stop looking at me to me, I can feel it and its annoying!". I never bought my car really for looks, just to be faster than everybody else on the road .. i guess generally i like to be a man of actions not words The thing is it does wear off as you get older and maybe women do become less superficial and a little more mature in their outlook and no longer is just a car enough for them! So those under 25 enjoy it while it lasts! After that women are more interested in other more important things such as how much money you have, what investment properties you own, a long term career, etc! The car thing wears off rapidly - in fact some women may just see owning a car like that as being still a "boy" and it won't get u anywhere. Like inasnt is saying, unless you're driving a Ferrari it don't matter no more. If I wanted to appear "semi successful" at my age, and use my car to pick i'd probably be more successful buying an early model beamer and making it look nice .. chicks wouldn't know shit whether its the latest model or something, just that its a "BMW". Even though a 10 year old BMW would cost the same as a decent condition R33, they don't know crap -
Like i said.. i have 190rwkw .. no turbo shield, and have no problems and never had any problems since the day i got it and its 30 degrees up here nearly every day at the moment. It may not be great, but i don't notice any negative effects on my engine.. but there doesn't seem to be any *benefit* for removing it Skypy12, so don't bother You will also notice most big turbos have no heat shield either and just sit in the engine bay so i don't see what the big fuss is about !

hypertech has got a rep for being wwaay wayy too expensive.. they're for business people with millions of bucks who hand over a few to compete in the Targa
-
Its pretty hard to get a proper inspection on a GTR though.. a friend had the same problem. Basically they either cbf, or don't want the hassle if they make a mistake in looking at it. They'll really only give you a basic "looks ok", even many of the performance shops even if they deal with GTR all day. I told him that, course he didn't believe me... he took it to a few shops and whatya know they said exactly the same "all we'd really recommend for sure is to give it a full workout and see what snaps". If it don't break "its good"

RNS11Z .. saw ur car down the pacific motorway.. at the side of the road.. i spotted the rims and thought "hey same as mine" then i remember the only one i know here who does have the same rims as mine.. hope u were just making a call and it wasn't stolen again!!
-
funky: there was actually some thing where somebody crossed out "victoria - on the move" or something back in the days of jeff, and he got fined or something and there was an outcry over it.. it was on a current affair so it must be true! i think it is an offence to actually deface your numberplate..
-
haha.. i've had that too funky.. cops follow me home a couple of years i go.. i get out and they ask "what are you doing".. and i said "I live here.. dur".. that shut em up, they just did a rego check.
-
who the **** is deleting my posts! grrr .. actually EDIT : oy!! no double posting, confuses the shit outta people like me.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=33601 I've have never had one, and never had any problems.. i'm not sure why it was removed.. burning wires??? pft.. well u shouldn't let em dangle ontop of the turbo! no problems there for me. Its not defectable as far as i know, as i had mine looked at by a couple of cops, and the EPA (when i lived in VIC) and nothing was said
-
dunno.. i've never had one on my car either. like u say maybe the yin and yang cancel each other out and it doesn't really matter. cops and EPA have looked at mine a couple of times (when i lived in VIC), they haven't said anything.
-
eh? i was talkin about the exact months.. and where i found it incase people were interested.. lol
