  1. :bahaha: soo good.. puts a rocket up those that reckons anybody with a nice car is a criminal.. hehehe
  2. There are a couple of good ones for the $200 ones, but I'm not going to say because i might want one of them soon myself **** those custom ones.. $2k for plates it the biggest joke in the history of driving. Only for people with too much money, not for plebs.
  3. yeah.. i was thinking a clear cover one to show off my fancy blue trust timing belt and camgear but then i thought, whats the point i got a stupid intercooler piping in the way. Nice on a GTR though!
  4. i dunno, i lost about 6 points in my first couple of years of driving.. and plenty of times i went double the limit.. just to test myself and to see whether i could or was pissed off and in a **** the world sorta way like u get when you're a teenager.. I think most p-platers have at some point or other, and many would have here, they just didn't get caught like he did. Knowing that, and myself not having a fast car at a young age, i don't think is a good idea because, again, you want to test your limits, and those limits are much higher when you have a fast car, even if its a S13 (which are pretty quick actually)
  5. lol .. inasnt is actually a nicer and more intelligent bloke that he comes across on the forums (hard to believe)
  6. ..you're right though - if you think you know everything then how are you going to learn anything new.. life is a constant journey of the mind

    Body Kits

the blitz looks like a skirt.. lol
  8. is that a quad cam v8 with a supercharger? that next? looks monster!
  9. well you can't just sit in a carpark that is private property.. make a mess, buy about $5 worth of stuff if they're lucky and just drive off genuine customers.. THAT is what shits them.. fark there are plenty of back factories and the rest where you can do whatever you like..hanging out at public places where everybody goes is kinda lame - but i guess its fun to show off sometimes..la de da..
  10. you needs lots of time to DIY but the results are worth it.. my goal is one day to pull out an RB engine and put it back together I've done it for the rest of the car so don't see how the engine can be that more complicated Its all nuts and bolts afterall, not rocket science.. Good work anyhow.. learning to do it yourself is the best thing about owning one of these stupid-ass cars
  11. I've pulled mine off a couple of times, and it never really was that dirty. All I did do was pull the top cover thing off, and remove the mesh entirely, and just smacked it on the ground a couple of times.. that took some dust/dirt out then i just stuck it all back together.
  12. The whiteline one is like $190 I think for R33 - I'd just be grabbing one of them unless you're really tight.
  13. yeah..but everytime you do it, the risk of actually getting caught or them calling for backup are pretty strong. These days with video cameras monitoring pretty much every road, and cops able to call for helicopter backup, you'd want to be making sure the cop just couldn't be bothered after the inititial squirt. and what happens if some knob walks out on the road as you're "buzzing" as you're getting away from the cops.. you don't think too well when you're under pressure.. you'll be regretting that for the rest of your life.

  15. :werd: meshmesh - that is the problem, there is no definitive what IS legal everywhere, fully, every step across cops, EPA, vicroads, ADRs and god knows what other legislations are out there. The whole system needs to be overhauled from the ground up, as it stands now, its pretty illegitimate. But then again maybe the current scheme is not so bad...it could be worse trust me..
  16. There is also no mention of this on the EPA notice that they give you - so I don't think it could be enforced. But i am also sure that people have been back there many times more than once in 6 months and no fine attached
  17. they'll be in jail soon and/or the car written off.. dumb ****s..
  18. i ain't bending over for you to pick pencils off the floor merli! That happened a while back, jet was in hospital for 2 months.. but yeah, the end of a fine car..He was very lucky, and looking at that photo VERY lucky. Again skyline safety saves somebody. I very much doubt it would have been the same if it were a similar era Aussie car, a rex or a lot of cars. And they say skylines are "unsafe" well if i was in a bad accident I know which car I'd prefer to be in...
  19. Hey james.. so you get the magic letter too It can take a month or so to arrive. Yeah, its nothing to stress about.. The EPA guy I dealt with was pretty cool, and I've never really heard any horror stories about the checking, but the EPA guy will read what the cop has put on it. If the cop is being a bitch you might have to watch., With the boost, yeah, better to set it back to stock. They WILL definitely check for a stock boost solenoid, they know how to look for that. Same for an aftermarket BOV. They'll stick a torch under the car to make sure you have the required cat too. EPA guy looked at my big old HKS FMIC and said "one intake is fine, either one of pod or intercooler and you can pass". I'd put the stock airbox on.. its a 20min job. They basically test you for emissions with a doova up the back zorst and the CO levels at 0.xx% (or whatever the figure is), so anything that plays with the level probably isn't a good idea. I'm sure there is enough leeway for you to pass with a boost controller and PFC but its best not to risk it. I reckon you'd wanna be careful with stuffed o^2 sensors, but only one real way to find out! If you don't pass the test then you've got xx days to get it fixed and come back again for a free re-sit (woohoo!) With noise, what I was told was that its exactly ON or under, then you're fine. I think mine was 89db and the limit is 90db so that was fine. If its a "factory" 95db you probably want to get it checked before, as you never know what conditions and what GTR they tested it on. You might not actually have to remove the AVC-R but anyhow, i'll PM you on that. I just disconnected the controller box from inside the cabin and the control in the engine bay.. left the piping in place to save me dicking with that feeding it back (ag). There's nothing against having an empty hose or two in the engine bay anyhow. The ECU they'll pop the kick panel so better get a stock GTR one. I had my car back to "normal" the same night, so its no problemo.
  20. How modified is your car though ait? If yours is an fairly stock RB20.. then the superior boxer engine would be fair bit faster.. however the RB25DET is more torquey down low and gives them a much better run. This has been covered a million times on here though
  21. you're an engineer, course you are haha... looks like funky don't know how to setup things properly. Anyhow, its better to STREAM it anyhow.. works fine.. we had it working sweetly at my old house..
  22. yeah, but imagine being able to beam stuff straight from your PC to your xbox and through your stereo to stream mp3, wma tracks, downloaded movies and whatever else on demand 3 rooms away Putting a CD phsyically into a CD player is so passe' man You don't want messy cables running around
  23. I do agree though that many of the people that complaining most veremently are those who were pushed into the 15 year things because they didn't have funds, willingness, or maybe even a clean enough record to be able to become a RAWS importer. And that is largely for *their* own self interest they are pushing people to lobby the government to scrabble, and claw with their last few steps until their business is extinguished. .. They are the ones that you need to watch as they don't give a toss about the consumer, just lining their own pockets and doing the least they have to. For them its much "easier" and more profitable to not go through a strict importation regime. I'm not sayign that any out there do it "for the good of the people", and it is all about making money after all, but as anybody knows, there are legitimate ways of making money, and quicker and easier ways of making money.
  24. With the "self install" yeah.. it's a doddle to install. .plug modem into filter and then phone line, run the install cd, enter account details and done If you want to get fancy and have laptops or whatever, you might be best off buying a wireless router or wirelesss router/dsl modem of your own - that way you can just wireless throughout the house to get on the net.
  25. a general: to this. at sam's dad rockin up at the pub.. i can just picture that too "SAMEEEERRR!!" lol ASh loves trannies i hear.. tried to push one too far
