... most of the problems with telstra are their ****ed up authentication and mail servers. While most resell the Telstra bottom layer, there are quite a few out there that have their own servers. THOSE are the ISP you wanna go for. I had ADSL on telstra for like a year and it was constantly ****ed up, couldn't log in, servers were down, ****ing rubbish. THEN after that I switched to Netspace.. not a problem, 10 times better.. and when i switched to my router setup permanently connected it had like an up-time of 3 months! 3 months ON permannetly conneted. Telstra could never match that with their servers. It depends whether the ISP is a layer2 provider or whatever, most still use the bandwidth of Telstra, but the rest of the system is their own.. anyhow...www.whirlpool.net.au - u can learn everything u ever want to know there..

Damn Straight! that is what the government should be more worried about, and spending more time on that and LEAVING the ****ing import system (any of it!) alone. How many accidents have really been attributed to dodgy "unsafe" cars.. damn well hardly anything, even the government's research has proved that less than 5% off accidents have any relation to the roadworthiness of a car. Dumb shit people kill cars, not cars kill people **** the local market, a Liberal Government is SUPPOSED to *by definition* not interfere in the way in which a free market is run.. but they sure as hell don't act like it these days. Let the market control itself, don't interfere by placing increasing damn restrictions on things that we can and can't do! and well people are buying more new cars then ever before, so i don't see what the problem is in the first place.. .

yup.. its an easy fix to bypass, and for many all you need. For me though i like having stuff working as it rolled out of the factory, and for resale, etc, etc. The heater also indirectly "balances" the whole system, so when you stick it on 25degrees (which is still cool) it uses *some* heat from the heater to balance out the aircon. Although if you've got an DR30 i guess you don't have the digital stuff and prolly don't matter.

Thats not a bad suggestion... BUT if you think about it how many cars have *not* been in some form of accident in 15 years? Each year older the car gets, the likelihood is increased. I doubt you'd find any aussie car that hasn't been in some form of mid-sized accident. Sure you don't want major accident damaged cars, cut and shut, but it depends where the line is drawn. And if you make it as strict as RAWS as in no modifications, etc again it gets worse the older the car gets - what car 15 years+ old still has all original parts? That only makes things worse in a way.. but i suppose it also makes people who really want a 15 year old car, want it for what it is, not because it can be fully modified.

hehe.. true.. no way can you build up a 250rwkw car for under $10k these days.. Best way to do it is to get a car with most of the basics covered. If you're starting from scratch, you'll be up to a car that cost you $40k, and is only worth $25k.

Seems like the ONLY reason the ONLY reason this is a problem because our good old government screwed up the new RAWS system in the first place, and made it to restrictive, too much paperwork and whatever else. I can't believe almost 8 months on or so compliance is STILL not available for many popular cars such as R34 and R32! Thats simply appauling, for ANY form of introduction of a law change! Anyhow, get writing people. I know I'm putting my letter together with some valid points. They might listen, they might not, but its worth putting together. Everybody has their own interests to protect and will playing it with whatever perspective helps THEM.. when really the only people that SHOULD matter are joe-bloggs public.

I reckon its probably a better idea that they start getting more strict on power-weight limits and bans for certain cars for people under 20.. rather than trying to prevent the cars getting into the country, i mean if a younger guy doesn't get a 15 year car they're gonna get a GTS-T aren't they? Stopping the source ain't gonna work, as there are too many of the cars in the country already.

Makes you wonder a little why nissan discontinued them in the early 90's. An updated version that didn't look so butt-ugly could be a popular car these days.
