Support Strut ========= Unfortunately, you're going to have to undo this to get the heater box out. I was hoping it wasn't required, but without moving it forward its basically impossible to get the box out. 1. Remove plastic climate control ducts sitting along top, and place aside. 2. Undo bolts on left side (4th pic), you may need a long socket 14mm to do this. 3. Remove one up near steering wheel bracing bar to firewall (3nd pic). 4. Remove bolts holding support bar to right a-pillar (2st pic). Should be 4x of these. You will need the socket extender to get to these because of other things in the way. One down the bottom is the most tricky, and hard to see as its tucked near all the fuses 5. Undo two large bolts holding steering column to support bar, and drop steering wheel as far as possible 6. Pull bar slowly forward starting from left. May need to wiggle it a bit. Get on right side and pull forward on that side to move forward as well. 7. Pull support strut as far forward as you can, without breaking any wiring! (see 1st pic)

Heater Unit removal ================ Follow this guide: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/sh...ead.php?t=31550 to remove your entire dash structure, leaving with what should look like this: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...achmentid=10054 Now, to remove the actual heater unit, mainly to replace if leaking. Aircon removal and fan removal would be similar process. 1. Remove bolts/screws as shown in first pic, and 2nd pic 2. Also stick your head under and remove nuts holding plastic unit to the firewall, in passenger footwell, and up near the steering wheel (3rd pic) 3. Remove bolts holding stereo/climate control button brackets to main support bar as shown in 1st pic

show us a pic when done.. I'm interested to see the quality of powder coated vs can coated covers. I assume the powder coating would be best, but you'd be surprised the quality you can get out of a $12 can if done properly.
-
Good to see you got it back and justice has been served.. Lets hope we see less cars getting stolen around QLD hey. Considering most have stolen countless cars before, often one bust can make a big difference.
-
Maybe it is different in NSW.. but last time i looked at the back of one in VIC, non payment in 28 days automatically means it is your intention to take it to the PERIN court.
-
Once I sell the 33 later this year, I am consdering either a maxed out R32 of around 400ps (either fully rebuilt RB20, or better yet RB25DET), R31 GTS-X or similar with RB26DETT, or maybe a worked up cefiro for under $15k. If its closer to 10k than 15, may get a full respray and interior retrim. May bring in another to sell for profit once I see how the first one turns out hehe 13_devil.. AE86.. i think they're very overrated, but yeah, initial D and drift has a lot to answer for!
-
Well it actually goes to court first, and a conviction is automatically placed on your name if you don't show, and THEN they send the sherrif around to collect the money, or authorised to remove it from your pay or similar.
-
you guys really should be taking these to court.. not bending over and going "oh well" it most situations it costs you more than $125 getting all the meaningless crap fixed or swapped over.
-
a3 would probably be quicker than a mini! that'd be nice all round
-
oh this is so much fun.. you need to be looking at more of THIS: and not thinking like THIS:
-
Not if you actually make it an election issue and cast your vote because of it. Think about it - some of us may have lost 100's over the years due to "maybe" a little too heavy reliance on revenue raising. If there is one thing that effects the mind of the voters is when it hits at the hip pocket, so it should be at the tops of everybody's minds come election time. There is one thing that you can never prevent in society is stupidity! and trying so hard to change this is aspect never really going to work, as that is the cause above everything else - not 5km/hr over, not a modified car, not an older car, not being tired, not an unroadworthy car - one thing: human stupidity.
-
actually I changed my mind, BUY A MINI - go ahead buy one.. all i can say is: you'll be back! I've driven plenty of cars, and been forced to drive things like Magnas, camrys, falcons, and more for a few weeks here and there. Nothing compares to the feel of a nice nissan...
-
get older quickly all these things become less of a problem once you hit the "magic" age of 25..insurance, cops, etc all become less of a concern. anyhow, there is plenty of other cars out there that will solve many of these problems for the same prices, but not a mini. hell even steve is calling you a soft****..lol
-
lol at james ..now that was the stuff back in the day..
-
great stuff.. so who wants to live next door to me? Its great up here. I haven't actually seen a cop pull anybody over up here, only on the freeway but they were speeding (as in 140 in a 110zone). Loud exhausts (like really loud, who wouldn't last 5 minutes in VIC), rides scraping on the ground, its all common place up here.
-
Hence when i had a run against one it looked like he was standing still at the lights. He actually seemed shocked at this too, next set of lights wouldn't make eye contact See that will be *you* nark if u get a mini. God, you can't let cop hassles turn you off driving a car.. thats the most ridiculous thing i've ever heard.
-
nark, don't be sucked in by a new car.. while they all seem and good the "savings" you are talking about will easily be over-ridden by the expenses - the "scheduled servicing" at a mini dealer to maintain your warranty, the insurance, and most of all the depreciation. Get something 2-3 years old with a 2ndary warranty, much more sensible option. I doubt parts will be either cheap or easy to obtain either. Definitely! One of the most overrated cars ever if you ask me. What is the big deal? They're overpriced buzz boxes and just "trying" a little too hard in every department. lol at inasnt, RiggaP, smooth, and pushead's comments - right on the ball Hey we're only a small minority too, what is the general public gonna think of you as this tall lanky guy steps out of a mini Better get the mini-skirt to match the car, don't want a clash there. Actually, time paint your 32 pink i think.. hehe
-
ha bass station, buble.. all cool but when i went there i feel so *OLD*. .but then again i can outdance any of the kiddies so its all ok
-
..but you still gotta pay the $125.. which ist he b.s thing, if its invalid you shouldn't be paying.. but i know it doesn't work like that.
-
/me pulls out flame thrower: f.ugly, slow , and boring.. but your money last time i couldn't stop laughing when somebody actually tried to drag me in a copperS.. hey it "seems fast" lets go drag that skyline. i only got yellow stickered once in melb, and its hardly as if my car didn't stand out.. p.s. you could get something a *little* more manly...
-
Yeah, its about time a few of these common things are thrown out, because most of the time they're not actually illegal - and therefore invalid defect which you *shouldn't* be paying. When you get it all cleared Jamez, you should write a note to the police superintendant or something. Clearly you have *evidence* to suggest ADR items are being defected and that it neeeds to be passed down the chain of command that "padded steering wheel" and the good old "h pattern not displayed" are complete rubbish and NOBODY should be getting defected for these items. Weight rating? ha, i barely know what it even is! and i don't think i *have* any stickers on my door jambs anymore, funny that..
-
yeah, my brother got done for DUI, and lost his for 6 months. When he came in, that said he just had to do some drink driving course and they gave it back after he'd done that. Imagine doing the test again when you'd be driving for like 10 years or something - it would be funny.. "now let the clutch out slowly, slowly, don't stall"..
-
seagulls smell...

hey, inasnt: what's the contact details of your "big boss".. might slip him a fifty .. lol p.s. you might want to watch out for falling pipework, because "accidents" can happen in the workplace
