  1. well its only a matter of time before the cost of petrol goes up enough that Ford and Holden go too.. Every year more and more of the components used in the car are imported or designed overseas anyhow. Nissan went in the 80's.. Mitsubishi is already gone pretty much bar the announcement.
  2. if they are anything like the standard V35 rims (17" 7.5 front, 8" rear), they'll be heavy as all hell... weighed them in at 50kg *each* (with tyre)
  3. location mate?
  4. to the above.. yes.. now for my new rims Skyline model = R32 GTS-T lowered to guard 345mm front/rear Wheel type = V35 standard rims (non track) Wheel diameter = 17" Wheel width =7.5" front/8" rear Wheel offset =33(F), 30® Tyre size = 215/55R17 Modifications to fit = front tyres scrub control arms.. requires lower profile tyres to fit fronts. Ended up going for 235/45R17's for the fronts.. clearance is fine, however can scrub plastic guards on heavy bumps
  5. Where are you located? I am on the goldcoast, and have a complete rb20det head with the lifters.
  6. LOL.. well even if its not great, SE QLD traffic is still 10 times better than melbourne.. You haven't experienced bullshit traffic until you've lived in melb.. where cars go 10km/hr under the speed limit everywhere.. oh, and this morning it took 1 hour to simply travel 35km to near the city.. And i think i saw more cops revenue raising in 4 days than a typical month in QLD.. erk! Worse place to drive in all of australia..
  7. The motors on the heater box are stuffed.. or the temp sensors are screwed. The motors open and close the flaps to balance the out and cold, and where it goes in the dash (up or to your feet). You're most likely going to have your entire dash out to fix it.
  8. it is? roads seemed same as everywhere else to me? good to see you're having fun cy..
  9. you don't really need to empty the oil.. but its a good idea to do it while its in the car, as outside its a bit more difficult, and if you tip the engine, oil can leak out everywhere. Then you'll be pissed you didn't before. On the rb25 there are predefined hookup points just near the cam covers. Failing that manifolds are *probably* alright, but I'd recommend something around like the alternator bracket, or removing the power steering, and using that. If you do it correctly you'll probably only need two points sort of going diagonal across. its pretty easy really.. just make sure most things you can removed are removed.. such as wiring, fan, radiator, power steering, aircon. Then its pretty simple and just undo mounts and lift.
  10. "The Hume Highway to Albury has been earmarked for 11 cameras, estimated operational by 7th June 2002. " nice current info there..
  11. The larger $100 jacks will give you a lot more levereage than the cheap little ones. I've got a $30 jack from supercheap once and its a piece of shit..lol Stands are like $30.. no biggie there.
  12. standard reg will be fine.. as long as its in good condition. loom is different.. a bit of chop and solder will fix that. Its pretty simple.
  13. my belts were were actually purchased second hand from another forum member who had their car complied the year before. So its possible there is a newer revision.
  14. Make sure you use an extender, and proper 1/2" shifter which gives you more leverage. The better the equipment, the more stubborn bolts you can remove without stuffing them. Make sure you use the correct socket too, there are a few weird imperial bolts you will find around.. commonly 1/2" heads.. which are about halfway between 12mm and 13mm. Using a 13mm will generally strip them, but a proper 1/2" will get them off.
  15. I paid.. but i don't see why i have to post in here to say so?
  16. Got a set of 4x stock R32 GTS-T rims. One of the front tyres is gone on the inside - the other is ok, but you'll probably need a new pair of tyres for the front. Rears are Falken Azeni RT215 205/55R16's with about 60% even tread. These tyres go for around $230 each, and still have plenty of life left in them. Good for track or drag use. Also can throw in another spare R32 rim if you like.. so its really a set of 5 I'm on the goldcoast, pickup only unless you can arrange freight to be picked up from my place. ** SOLD *** Will put up pics soon, but all in good condition with no major scratches, scrapes, has centre caps, etc.
  17. I tend to find it in most of the cars I have had.. I actually like the feel, if you're just coming to a bit of a gradual stop you don't want it to lock up straight away.. second hard press if you really want to lock it up. I always pump my brakes on stopping anyhow. It depends on the extent, but it may actually be fairly normal??
  18. you've really got a hard on for 1jz's don't you now GTST I think most people do when they see the figures they put out..

  20. Basically.. no inspection panel.. About the only spot you could have a tiny peak in is where the clutch fork goes in with a torch, but you wouldn't be able to see much. Gearbox has to slide back unfortunately.
  21. you'll find the information elsewhere on here.. but I am pretty positive they are not the same strength as the turbo box, more in line with the RB20 box. So don't go thinking they will hold up similarly. They look different as well, the rb25det box is pretty fat and has a lot of ribbing on the side.. the DE one isn't. The DE one is also worth next to nothing, probably for good reason.
  22. wish i'd the time to attend boobie pics ?
  23. You can use the same one as the RB25 / R33 one if that helps..
  24. 1jz-gte no doubt in my mind. but they are not in a nibble car.. therefore R32 gts-t for the win. I'd considered a 1jz-gte into an r32 .. but too much stuffing around. GTST - you fail to point out that manual soarers are very rare, maybe 1 in 20 are manual. Its not really applicable to talk about something that is not that readily available.
  25. That could prove a tricky process.. You'd have to pull the whole steering out, and get it rewelded. Which would not only be tricky, it could invalidate the structural engineering of the car if inspected. You have no arms?
