  1. cheers.. I am after the dust boots as well when i order my springs .. so please put them up as well SK
  2. one of our friendly forum members I am sure can do it for a 6 pack of beer or something like that.. I would if I was up in bris. Its quite easy. A workshop stuffed up a boost gauge install.. lovely.. haha
  3. OFFERS BELOW $30K WILL NOT BE CONSIDERED. If you want to make an offer, look at the car, and make one face to face. this is a clean gtr people... Km are unfortunately unknown as cluster was changed in japan, so that is the main reason why its a bit cheaper than most others but would estimate around 70-low 100k on interior and overall cond. The 100k service was undertaken a few months ago, so you are covered there also. On any import (especially one such as a GTR) its prudent to go on a mechanical inspection rather than the odometer unless its got a full history, and even these can come forged in japan. Mechanical inspection's are welcome, but you won't find any nasty surprises.
  4. Best I got Jase is a block and tackle, which you could borrow if u don't have one already. How strong is your roof?
  5. get used to it..
  6. I don't why they balked at $13k.. thats perfectly possible these days with the price falling so much on them.
  7. its interesting as it has the top chip socketed.. whereas most of the standard R33 ones don't.. Maybe it is possible to chip them, its just quite expensive?? (that programmer on g-grid site was up around $1000). Can you see what looks like home solder jobs around the top socket there at all?
  8. you will lose quite a few thousand on it if you hold onto it for a couple of years, as quite a few R34 are now coming into the country right now. In 4 years or so they will be like R33's.. I'd beat him down a few $k
  9. looks like another post runner to me ... wtf do people keep doing this?
  10. diff ratio? 3.7 for manual and 3.9 for auto
  11. which series? please post pix.
  12. I think Duncan would be talking about the R32 GTR ECU.. I've got no problem with charging for the tuning, which requires knowledge.. but charging $200-$300 for just chipping it is a bit rich.. as its about a 30min job and just requires the use of a soldering iron. I guess I had better do it rather than just talking about it ... have to buy a burner and things. Even if that costs me $100, I'm still saving money..
  13. thats on r33.. r32 doesn't have that..
  14. ok.. when u say "hollow spec".. do you mena its a standard 2.5" cat ? if so.. then you have 3" -> 2.5" -> 3".. 0.5" restriction.. probably not good.
  15. I am selling mine in a few months... working fine in my car as we speak. So you could see it running, doing a burnout, etc . If I know I have a buyer (and maybe a deposit), i could possibly hassen that process up. I'd be asking about $1200 with ECU and loom.. wouldn't want to go too much lower than that - as its all fine. Average price is around $1000 I guess. I am on the goldcoast so could work out. $2200 is fair if you get the gearbox (probably $500 on its own), engine @ $1200.. turbo.. $200 (importer price). plus $200 delivery or so.. its not totally unreasonable.
  16. you really think he is going to go out there again and just drive like a tool once he gets out of jail? you really think this sends a message to anybody, that *actually changes their behaviour* in the wider community.. course not. A few weeks time same thing will happen again, people will get into the car of some guy they know on occasion can drive a bit stupidly. Can't prevent these sort of things happening altogether, only train people to be better drivers and lessen the odds. First 1/2 year drivers need to realise that driving is not as easy as those basic driving tests you do to just get a licence and act however you like afterwards. PUNISHMENT IS NOT WORKING.. FACT
  17. you'll get done with the bonnet later on, even if you get it through the roadworthy
  18. it looks harder than it is.. just takes time.. for now, if its leaking very badly.. just join the two hoses together in the engine bay where it goes into the firewall. This bypasses it going through the core.
  19. I know you are probably just biting there troy.. but for all replacement/service parts for these boxes I can find no revision number differences mentioned for the transmission across years (except for the latter r34 models) which would indicate subtle differences and internal parts. This checks out in FAST also. It is possible they've stuffed the wiring or install of course..
  20. I found mac customs in brisbane decent enough to deal with..
  21. don't think any do.. only ones that have them are the aussie ones, where they are added to meet ADR's. The recent 89/90 models don't need them added (in a couple of states anyhow). Really hard to tell if they are genuine gtr or just painted from that angle..
  22. two different cases.. intersting why one person would get 2 years, and another 9 however. I know its a bit silly to state this having not experienced it.. but I am not sure seeing the imprisonment of somebody for such a long time would to do too much to make me feel any better about the situation of having a family member killed in an accident. I would be thinking "well it doesn't really bring them back now does it"
  23. sorry, its VCT.. not VVT.. always get them mixed up (even though I know they are different systems ) but i have a s1 Rb25det sitting here, and it definately has the VCT solenoid in the head. Comparing the CAS as well, with mine at least, one is a mitsu (rb20) and one is a hitachi (rb25) and have different plugs, although maybe there is no difference in their logic so are interchangeable.
  24. you rb30 pusher you.. or slap in a perfectly good rb25 bolted together.. loom, etc. Nothing to worry about drilling blocks, speaking to engine builders, etc. Good for a nice 230-250rwkw with revability. If it blows, you have all the required parts ready to go for rb30 later on.. rb20det doesnt run VCT, rb25det runs VCT (edit: oops).. you would have to disable the VCT via playing with the engine and dick around... spoils the point of the drop in approach. I can think of quite a few parts also that are different between rb25 and rb20 looms that would cause you problems with rb20 loom: cas, ignitor, injectors. But maybe its possible.
  25. afaik R32 and R33 autos are exactly the same.. they are both RE4R01A boxes of same specifications.. and they are used in a few other nissans as well (pathfinder, etc) in the 90's. What makes you think its specifically a problem with the auto?
