I've got a pretty dodgy standard R32 GTS bonnet here.. least its black. Front lip is a bit rippled, and hole cutout near pod area for airflow, but will fit fine. Suit replace a smashed up bonnet or something suitable for drifto when you really just need something to cover the engine? I don't know.. Anyhow, asking $50.. but if nobody is interested in next 2 weeks its going to the tip. I'm on the goldcoast. Pickup only. Call 0417 016 326 or PM..

Cheap 12" Subbox [goldcoast]
predator posted a topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
I have a cheap 12" subbox here, using solid MDF. Its wedge shaped. Carpet could do with a little gluing down again, but if its in your boot, not going to see it that often. Fits R33 boot, but won't fit r32 due to height, that is why i am selling it. Asking just $30 Pickup only on goldcoast. Good cheap way to get a box for your sub. -
dyno it.. work out parts that need attention, modify, put chip back in.. would be a fiddly process. There are "romulators" which would basically allow you to tune realtime. Put ribbon into slot, this goes off to laptop, you can alter in realtime. When you get what you want, you burn off on EPROM, and put this into ECU. Would save heaps of time.

Teenager Does Time For Killing Friends
predator replied to Mandingo's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Of course the families are going to be the ones most pissed off! and they would probably say 9 years is not enough. But like a few people have said, who's to say other times it wasn't the people who died driving, and acting like tools. But they were lucky or whatever the other times. I just think in some circumstances you can't say "punish the hell out of them". Accidents happen. People do stupid things. Sometimes this results in the death of people. It not like he deliberately aimed the car towards a tree, and thought "I will try and kill these people". How does 9 years rather than say 3 really change his thoughts of the seriousness of his actions? Well he can say he "couldn't remember it".. but the subconscious is a scary thing. Who is to say that is not worming around in his brain effecting his thoughts in many ways and causing long term psychological trauma. Who knows whether that will always be the case, sometimes the mind blocks these things out - but they can come back in unexpected ways. Ands like GTRGeoff said, there are other circumstances where others have got away with much less for very similar circumstances. If you are a factory owner, and you know a certain piece of equipment is past its servicable lifespan, and yet you keep running it, this results in the death of a worker - you'd be lucky to get a couple of years. This one is an example case to scare others. -
someone hasn't cut the speed limiter have they?

Teenager Does Time For Killing Friends
predator replied to Mandingo's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Pretty harsh the length.. Destroying 3 lives rather than 2, even despite the conscience that will echo in him daily... The whole event burned into his brain probably whenever he closes his eyes. That would be sentence enough, then just to slap him in jail for that length of time. 2 years I would have thought would really given him time to realise just how much he f**ked up. I know he has killed people, but as young people we all do stupid things just because, it just happened his dumb thing resulted in the death of people, which is tragic. People whinge about "inadequate sentences" on things like this... but when I could probably go with a loaded gun and kill somebody and maybe get 9 years and make some rubbish up about "mitigating circumstances" or something (and it wouldn't be an accident).. you know. -
lol - nark has a point.. did u transfer the lada suspension to the front or something?

never freakin heard of it.. I'd just drain it out and put something standard in there. Proper glycol based coolant should be fine for any performance car if used in a properly functioning coolant system.

Some Low Life Peice Of Shit Backed Into My Car
predator replied to pentae's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Thats just shit. People have no respect for others anymore. -
with all the fanbase and bit of respect at least, shown here...you'd think xr6 turbos would be walking out the showrooms. they're not
-
speaking from experience.. agree with everything siksII said.. I think a lot of the "it must be under 100k" on condition (i.e. very good), still can be up around the 100 - 150k mark. You just have to look at a local car (taken care of course) to see this.
-
never... maybe.. braking was hard to judge with the rain as it just wasn't consistent... what was a good braking distance was not quite so good after a shower Good experience though.

lol - everybody hangs shit on the 80's alphas..

hey mark.. well my lease actually ends in end of Sept.. but was thinking I might try and look for a new place (makes it hard when its only yourself though) if i didn't renew it, so that could work out well. I am not set in living in same area where I am now too, as long as its general goldcoast area. Just needs to have a double garage and we'd be set..
-
...that would be a good thing..... right(?) ! Nothing compared to your mates rx7 though!! I think it was the wet on the tyres.. does sound interesting though..don't often get to hear your car from the outside. Some good shots in that selection of all you guys. toy33.. ahh, makes sense now...you were getting some nice rich flammage out that back down the straights. I was in the black 32
-
you didn't look very hard.. as its right here right near the top.. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...php?act=SF&f=57

all i can say on that is.. good luck! I don't know why people always take them off when they sell them as they can't be too useful for anything else, but you tend to find a large number of the rb25 turbos without them, and they can be a bitch to track down.
-
no.. tried it.. bolts holes don't match up that well, and smaller diameter hole on the flange. You sort of *could* get it to work via redrilling, but could cause problems.

Sounds like you may have air bubbles in there, or the pump is stuffed? Sometimes they can be on again, off again (I had big troubles trying to diagnose what turned out 2 be a fuel pump issue a couple of months ago) To prime the pump, turn the key to ign without starting it, turn key off, wait a few seconds, turn key to ign position. Each time you should be able to hear it priming, and filling the lines. Eventually, if that is just the problem, you should be able to start it. Just a suggestion worth trying.

I tend to use just standard rust killer from the hardware store. Seems to work pretty well. First sand it to get all the rough/obvious stuff off.. then apply the rust killer (use a smallish brush or something).. then coat in primer. Then spray over or use touch up paint.
