  1. well personally i don't think its too good as the ecu may not have time to react to the spike, and its not consistent for it to fuel correctly. I actually turned down mine, as to get it to hold at level I wanted, i had to set it well above.. which I didn't think was too safe it sitting on 15, then back to 12 or whatever. when i have some money.. think will just have to go an EBC.. They have more intelligent solenoids which can infinitely adjust levels via its "brain" to hold the exact boost you set. ProfecB did the trick for me in the last car. Its more money, but at least it works well.
  2. ..its the older cars that need more religous servicing. Guess it is expensive to take a GTR to a workshop every 2 months for servicing. Japs aren't that good at it either it seems - so that is probably where most of the damage is done.
  3. looks like a diff yes.. if its an auto, it should by all rights be 4.3:1 .. good for acceleration.
  4. gtr's should b made for floggin! thats what they're meant for aren't they?
  5. .. and cost a lot more to build than an R33 GTR with a few $k worth of mods.. rofl
  6. got exact same problem on mine.. seems those turbotech valves are quite overrated..
  7. you guys are all insane.. rb25 that will kill any r33 handsdown.. and looks great to boot! why waste money on an r33 Guess it goes to prove not many people actually sell their skyline through here...
  8. huh? you told me you were impotent? :oldshock: too many skyline owners still live at home with mummy and daddy methinks.. oh well.
  9. Aren't they just a glorified Corolla?
  10. u forgot the best one.. R32 gts-t.. ~1290kg (89/90)/239rwkw = 5.4kg
  11. Toy33: were you a couple of track day's ago in a GTS-T ? as I remember you were in 33GTR yesterday? upgraded?
  12. I find that just watching where others are braking, and what line they are taking (both good and bad) can greatly help your technique. Tyres will make a massive difference, depending on what you have on there.
  13. one from behind the engine is the water feed
  14. $15k is way too much for your first car.. look at something under $5k max for first year at least, if you are paying for it yourself..
  15. lol.. and i wondered why he had a good second or two on me at QR today.. It was however 20deg and raining (minimum EGT you're going to get in qld, ha) salad: Just remember as well that raising the boost too much higher without adjusting the mixtures to suit is asking for engine trouble, rather than turbo trouble. So don't just wind it up to 15 on the stock ecu thinking it will all be ok.. But maybe you know that B)
  16. lol.. i can't really talk to be honest - my garage is full of car bits for stuff "one day" that I will need.. actually my garage is a car parts museum..
  17. yeah, its just I keep seeing on here almost weekly a "how do I rebuild my RB26dett".. or "GTR for sale with blown engine", etc... makes you wonder..
  18. does anybody have a 89/90 GTR that hasn't blown up?
  19. How would independent analysis be deformation? Its like suing somebody for a bad review of a car in a magazine.
  20. not too sure, it had big fatties, and was sort of bubble shape, so it could have been. But then again, aren't they all .. Didn't take photos unfortunately. It was up on the goldcoast for a small hotroad show/meet..
  21. Those prices would be for the complete replacement control arms I would say, which include the bushes (one unit). I had to replace one on the gtst and it was $200 from nissan.. Rear shock rubber? you mean strut top? Or do you mean the bottom eyelet? Depends on the shocks, but generally I would have thought you would just replace the shocks themselves..
  22. think it would only look decent on a 32.. yeah, i saw a rod on sunday, that looked f**king awesome in the matt black and chrome. But it suits a rod, not really a skyline.
  23. have a look at LiveEdit.. it will allow you to view the raw data values of the maps to target A/F ratios that the ECU should try and aim for.
  24. Its kind of a dead model in a way.. considering the V36 is meant to be a totally different beast and I think different shape to boot.. at least it will have the GTR at the top, which might inject some life into it as a desireable car again.
