chrome paint is really more just silver.. nothing compares to a proper powdercoat, , machine polish, anodising, or electroplating (different processes are applicable to different types of metals) If you want a show quality finish.. can paint doesn't really cut it for most purposes.

neil: sounds like its not getting enough current, therefore not working to its full efficiency. Probably the heat is the sign of it working much harder than it should (which like u say will result in a failure eventually) might have to run some thicker cabling to the pump.. Something to investigate anyhow.

Its basically the reverse process of electroplating.. From what I gather, they place the item in a chemical bath, and place a DC voltage source in there (anode at one end, cathode at another).. basically then any impurities are removed from the surface of the metal by an electrochemical reaction.. resulting in a smoother surface, which gives the shine.. But I am still not 100% so best to read up yourself .. There is a bit of info out there if you try google.. a couple of sites mentioned it could be done to some alloys, whereas electroplating really only works on base metals (or possibly others if you coat them in a thin layer of the correct material)

yes, i could do COD. .but COD charges are an extra $9 .. you really want to on a $40 item.. i'll send you a PM..

yeah, they are the same on r32.. i had a manual one i bought for manual conversion, and I was going to use the rubber bush to replace the existing one which was hammered. Workshop said they noticed it was exactly the same crossmember between auto and manual.

have a look on my website in my sig.. you can see some quick pix of how i installed mine.. might help things out in your head.

why does the GTR use a stupid resistor pack anyway?? Why not: a) make the injectors the correct impedence in the first place or B) design the ecu to accept the impedence off the bat seems all a bit strange for Nissan to do it that way?? Must be a reason.. curious..

stock Bov: $40 inc post..

Well we call it 'petrol' in australia sorry.. f**k off yank..

If you are trying to get a louder exhaust to know when to change gears on the drag strip, I think you are barking up the wrong tree. It is a bit hard with the helmet on, but if you keep a steady on the tacho it shouldn't be too hard. At worst, lash out and buy a shift light.

my guess is somebody thrashed the pants off it running silly high boost and stock ecu, as seems to be all the rage these days. you can use but you'll have to swap all the sump and things over as that has your front diff in it, whereas on RWD it doesn't. do a search and you will find some info..

Fuel Pumps, What Are My Options?
predator replied to AlexCim's topic in Four Door Family & Wagoneers
looks a bit dangerous.. fuel lines near the exhaust.. and is that cable tie the only thing holding it there and stopping it from banging around??? -
build a plate to fit over, and that replaces the stock gasket. I just went down to Bunnings, grabbed a thin galvanised bracket (used for guttering I think it was) for about $2, traced out the correct size on the tin, and then cut the shape out with tin snips. Also mark out the bolt holes and drill them out. Quick file around the engines to ensure you can't slice your fingers open, undo the two stock BOV main bolts, slip it under.. bolt it up.. done. You're main BOV should now open.

ta.. comes free with the monitor.. actually soon as you unplug it she disappears.. sorry

damn.. didn't realise they were alloy. Guess i am used to the old show cars where they do all the bumpers, etc. But thats not alloy. they should be able to polish up the metal, even if they can't plate it.. but maybe that doesn't work with the allow covers of GTR's either? edit: actually.. i've just been having a bit of a look at the whole process and the different metals, etc - you may also want to try and find a place that does "electropolishing".. apparently that can be done to many alloys to get a mirror finish. You will get a better result that doing it by hand. or just look up "metal polishing" in yellowpages

look up electroplating

fuel cut is easy to remove though with a remap chip.. but then i guess there would be little point running both the SAFC and getting it chipped. i think its more like a cut based on airflow, rather than a fuel cut anyhow.

huh? you mean its not a real club...

I've got a LG 710S 17" monitor here.. Slightly curved face.. only about 12 months old, still current model, and in good condition throughout. Pretty much the same model goes for $140 brand new at the moment from places like umart, etc.. This is a nice sharp monitor (has a Philips tube) with crisp color definition, was running it as a 2nd monitor.. but now running 2x 19", so no longer need it. You can find the full specs here: http://au.lge.com/md/product/prodcategoryl...ctId=1100000431 asking $70 or best offer. I'm on the goldcoast, but can probably deliver in brisbane metro area sometime in next 2 weeks. Number is 0417 016 326.. email is [email protected] ..pix are below.. now go buy..

What do think about R 34 GT-T
predator replied to 1Winner1's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
does look like its changed a little satanic.. I remember back only about 2-3 years ago it was very hard to get a personal loan for higher amounts.. even *with* a $50k job and previous loan payback history. Many people I know were refused as they wanted to a buy a GTR and such.. and their only option was smaller finance companies with sometimes higher interest rates to counter the risk. Now I look and most of the major banks have a more liberal policy and $30k is common.. so i take that back -
Top RB20 Club... do you have over 260rwkw?
predator replied to RBsileighty's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
just looking into how you do it at the moment.. just type in "rb20det roms" or "rb20det programming" into google and away you go .. changing the rev limit, removing the boost cut, and the speed limiter is simply a matter of typing in the boxes. As for the tuning, that is the part where you need the knowledge. you are looking at about $60 for an EPROM programmer, and about $10 for the blank EPROMS.. Here are a few experiments by people.. http://www.tangentrix.com/forums/viewforum.php?f=2 -
thats much too masculine .. you're out of the club already boostn32.. damn hoon!

yeah, in the end I actually ended up swapping to the other ones.. as the suspension place i took my car to for some other work later said they were the wrong ones - but I think they were just trying to get more money out of me. All I noticed is that they just are a bit tighter seal down the rod end side. When I thought about it later, I cannot really see how it would be a problem to be honest, as long as you have a tight seal on either end via the wire, or the zip tie that is provided. The idea of the boots is mainly to stop dust and grime getting in the joint, if everything is sealed to a good extent, I would have thought this wasn't going to happen?
