When you've got an hour to kill in Ellenbrook... -
1 boost gauge - ~$150 1 yellow sticker - $80+ cost to make it road worthy. Seeing your very own car getting towed - PRICELESS (note: I enjoy seeing my car on a tow truck, hence it being priceless)

I take it you were the 17year old. So how do handcuffs feel? You're not having a good run aren't you lol. Don't worry, I've had a similar run this year, though I didn't get arrested. Just had the fraud squad give me a call to let me know they have f*ck all to do and felt like chasing up bullshit things... and while I'm here. WGMG..well it doesn't really as nothing does anymore (new look on life) is I'm awake at 3am on a Monday morning and there is nobody online lol.

I was saying to myself last week at how I was glad that no one from the car scene saw it. I guess I'm wrong... lol (I rarely read this part of the forum) It has been over two weeks since it came out and I'm still getting asked about it at photo shoots I rock up to... Client - 'Hey Matt, I swear I saw you in the paper not long ago' 'No, wasn't me' *looks up in air* My editor at work is the guy above me (online) or next to me in the liftout. He has been getting swarmed by girls since it came out...or should I say mingers, fatties, white trash & girls that put more cock in their mouth than food.

So is project SN1PER garaged now...in an impound? You must have been a very bad girl *shakes finger* lol
-
Did it involve 5 cop cars? Story or ban
-
I second that. I don't understand why you wouldn't take it to the people who did the original job for you. I couldn't get my mudflaps on my Pulsar painted (colour coded) for $100, and that's through a school friend's family panel and paint business!!

I think most people here will struggle to run their Skyline, let along a Skyline and an Evo!! Go on Perth-WRX and ask about Evos as some of them have 'turned to the dark side'. (www.perth-wrx.com) Evo 7 being not that old shouldn't have any issues as such. It's when you start messing with 90's cars that you've got to worry about rebuilds etc. If you're also only going to do zorst, pod and boost well those simple mods will do very little harm to the car..if any.

Dodgey part of Ellenbrook or good part of Ellenbrook? Lots of little thugs out there, esp hanging around where IGA is washing car windows. Things like this you've just got to accept and move on, as hard as it sounds. I had my ENTIRE car (Pulsar) keyed up last year (parked outside), and I didn't get angry one single bit. Sure it cost me a bit to get it all fixed ($600 excess), but the main point was the car was still drivable. From what it seems you don't have a garage, but the thing is when you have a car that attracts attention, you have to garage them period. If I didn't have a garage, I wouldn't have even bothered buying my R as there would have been an increase chance in vandalism or theft if parked outside. Plus the insurance would have been much more as well. Something like this will keep happening again to you if your car is kept out in the open, and maybe next time it won't be just key marks (someone could set it alight, steal it...). Sure it's no excuse for people to touch your car, but thats the sad reality of life.

Advice: Don't park your car outside. If you haven't got an alarm already, get one.

Hoon Laws P plate night ban Lowering speed limits More multinovas + additional speed monitoring devices Same Same. Won't change the road toll. All government / media hype. Makes the governemnt 'look like' they're doing something good, when they can't do anything else in other things (gas crisis, petrol prices) but spend more time sniffing chairs, looking for threesomes and lifting shirts up. I could rant for hours about all this, but meh it will do very little for the cause. People have got to stand up for their rights, and since 17year olds can't vote then it won't effect the Government at the polling booth come election time. An idea I kind of got from the 'Bring Krispy Kreme to Perth' thing on Facebook is maybe all the new / upcoming drivers get together and shout their opinions in mass emails / letters to the Government. The Krispy Kreme thing on FB has actually now got other medias attention because of its popularity, and I'm sure something similar (doesn't have to be on FB) would get the same responce & may cause the government to rethink their decision instead of listening to ludacris ideas of Grant Dorrington / Road Safety Council.

What letter..that you've lost your license? If they gave you speeding tickets on the spot, you won't be getting anything in the mail. Plus they can't book like 4 cars for the exact same speed at the same time. I'd suggest the five of you take the matter to court (as one if possible), and you'll win hands down.

Not sure how come your camera hasn't picked up the tungsten lighting, as it shows up quiet obvious. Usually digital slrs in their early days are good at picking it up, but once they get thrashed out ridiculously (like mine) they barely pick it up. Play around with the white balance settings if the shots are looking too yellow, or too blue etc. Somtimes the colour cast can be used to good effect. To do a good white balance, set the white balance to 'auto' then put the camera in like P or Auto mode get a sheet of shit paper and take a photo of it on the correct exposure (so not under, or over exposed) then go to your custom white balance settings and choose that photo to base your white balance on ....then SWEEET... you're ready to shoot put camera back in manual or whatever mode you want after that. In your case, you probably don't need to shoot a piece of paper but the white Skyline.

Go the DVD player, as it will probably read MP3s as well. I recently put the iPod Alpine unit (non CD player, pure iPod) in my Skyline. Was good for a day, but sick of it now. I guess it happens when you're use to a $1800 deck and not a $600 Made in China Alpine cheapie hahahaha. Alpine & Pioneer DVD screen units are dirt cheap nowadays..low $1000s I think from memory from JB catalouge. I'm thinking why are they so cheap (DVD screens) and its probably because of Blu-Ray, and also the fact they're all made in China now which cuts costs big time in comparison to stuff made in Japan. Install costs aren't hefty...in comparison to say visiting a performance workshop..Try doing it yourself if you can.

One of the last photos I took before officially losing my license lol. Taken around Myaree. Really love the red glow that was coming behind some building in the distance. A long expsoure of around 40second I think from memory. -
Well imo, you've got to weigh it up. This is how I would: 1) If you're in the middle of no where, what are the chances that cops are out there too. 2) Consider the road you're on, do many people use it. I don't think cops will be sitting on roads when say only 1 or 2 cars pass in an hour..unless they're just bumming around. 3) If the guy looks like a poser, just drive normal and yeah go to the next servo or somewhere where people are at. This reminds me of my last road rage incident, where I was driving through Nedlands area in my mum's Camry and all of a sudden this guy that passes me going opposite direction starts following me. He then over takes me, and then drives at like 30kmph. I get annoyed, and over take the dude (he was in some RS Liberty) and then it's on like Donkey Kong. At the time I was the way to an opening of an art exhibition in the area. I get to the place, however do a U-turn at a t-junction. The guys in the car behind are yelling 'Stop your car etc'. I then go back and pull right out the front of the gallery where about 20 people are standing outside. I get out of my car with camera gear etc, and they pull up next to my car. Two big guys get out and are like 'You f**ken hit my sister's car!!' and I'm like 'wtf dude' and then I think they realised they had the wrong person as there was no visible damage on my car and they jump back in and speed off. I was a tad shaken by what had just happened and people from the exhibtion come out to see if I'm alright. After the event (an hour or so) I leave. Just as I'm about to get on Stirling Hwy, the same guys pop right back out again and pull up next to me. I was like 'Not again'. They look over, and then realise its me and reverse straight away and pull over to the side of the road where they came out from.

I've had plenty of the above incidents... An off duty copper chased me through the far eastern suburbs in his own private car, after I semi cut him off in a merging lane. Crazy dude was flashing his lights, tail gating me etc, then pulls out his badge when he pulls up next to me. No way was I going to pull over. Got away from the dude (long story) but then for the next two weeks he was calling me everyday trying to arrange an interview, then changing the times due to things he had to do. After a while (and a lot of stress) I talked to a lawyer and he suggested I just tell him to f*ck off. I did exactly that and never heard from him again. I made an official complaint to the Police, but nothing happened to the guy or myself. Protecting their own as per usual... (however I bet it went on my IMC record so when Police pull me over they'll see it..c*nts) Another time (many years ago), some fools were giving me shit on the road, and as they over took me I pulled the finger at them. However, the car behind me who was tail gating me at the time thought I was pulling the finger at him. He decides to follow me (could tell by the way he was driving), and when I get to a round about I do a full circle and so does he. However when I exited the round about (going back the same way I came in) he did another circle and went the opposite direction as I think he would have gotten the idea I knew he was following me. Lucky he didn't follow, as I was on the phone to a mate living on the same street to tell him to get his golf clubs ready. End of the day imo, no blue or red lights...I won't stop.. and even if they do (red & blue lights) they've got to look legit.

Damn, that is one big baby!! (height wise)

Plenty of topics on this question here... I used Autotrans to bring my R from Brisbane. Cost $1400 I think from memory, or would have been $1800 if it was from North Qld :S However the seller of my car cbf taking it to Brisbane, and in the end took the $400 loss out of his pocket. I also used Autotrans to take my Pulsar to Sydney and back, and that cost me $1100, so $1400 from Brisbane imo was a fair deal.

There is a 'Show us your gauges' topic somewhere on SAU..search for that and there will be plenty of options there.
-
The GTR torque gauge shows how much is being transferred from the rear to the front end of the car, since it has an all-wheel drive system...unlike your rear wheel drive only GTS-T.

I've always wanted to know how to make GIFs. I've tried and failed Is Adobe Image Ready the software you can use to make them? or is there something better I can download off the net for free for it?
-
I've tried that..same thing applies. (got to find my examples though) The model though for it to really work out has to be behind something TOTALLY BLACK otherwise whatever is behind her will come through. You'd need to put a flash on her to expose her, and then once that happens she can walk out of the shot and you can continue with the long exposure with the car. and [Michael], anytime dude
-
Don't have the lights on for the entire exposure (unless we're talking hell short) All you need is a quick flick on and off (less than half a second, esp with HID) and that's it With the long exposures to work out, well that's very techinical but I'll try to explain as simple as possible, with some photos of mine as examples. The above is a 30second exposure from memory (took it years ago) Basically, what I did was have a number of flash units around the car to light up the car, and 'freeze' the car. The car park was reasonably dark, so needed the flash to light up the car. You may think the long exposure will do it, but its not the same...trust me. What I had planned was that for the last 10seconds of that 30 seconds I would have the car moving, so for 20 seconds I had to get the right exposure with the car. Once that was found, I turned off all the lights on the car and got the shot rolling. During the 20seconds, I am flashing around the car the correct number of times that I have found was suitable to get it exposed properly (so doing some test shots would help prior) Once the 20seconds was up, the lights were turned on and the car moved slowly during the remaining 10 seconds. The streak of light is the movement of the car during that 10seconds. This shot was also made more difficult also with the undercar neons. Like with the first advice given about the headlights, same thing applies in a way. What I found in this situation was that 16seconds into the exposure we had to turn the neons on to get a good pink exposure on the ground without over exposing it. This remained on for the rest of the shot. Here is another quick breakdown, with an actual test shot before hand. What makes this shot more difficult was because I wanted to capture the flames of the antilag coming out from the car. As some may know, this various in output and I wanted a really big flame. So here you have my first shot, minus everything (lights and antilag flame) which gave me a rought idea of how much flash I needed on the car to light up the shot during the exposure (of which was 19seconds) Then came for the real shot which I only did one of due to the fact the antilag would have attracted unwanted attention to the place we were at. What happened here I did the flash exposure for the car and then told my mate to reel off the flames. However it took a few attempts before we got a big enough flame and then the exposure blew out to 41seconds (instead of 30 I think, but I had it on bulb to be safe incase no flames came) but the results speak for themselves. So yeah, it seems hard to do but if you break the photo down it's quiet simple. I haven't done the shot in a couple years now, but I've seen others trying to do the same after seeing the WRX photo and failing pretty bad.

30 people really isn't a big enough number imo to hire out places.. maybe if the number was doubled or tripled then yeah we can start talking hiring out a hall or something. I assume you want some sort of dance floor etc Some places I've been to that I thought were good: Burswood on the Swan Rowing sheds (eg. Canning Bridge) or as Stinky Rooster suggested...RSL clubs...ftw!! Or bowling club..list goes on.
