  1. So why do it? If you know it blinds other motorists, why do it?
  2. And that makes you cool because....
  3. Just wondering how much the mods you did(all the mods in the avatar?) to get it to sub 5 for 0-100km/hr, cost? eg buy car for 15K and spent 8K in mods? If that's private or who did the mods is private etc. that's ok, but if it's not private could you please post how much it cost?
  4. That would be a gt-r right? As Sub 5seconds is late model evo territory.
  5. Hey, where did you hear/read this?
  6. So they are trialling 140km/hr in NSW somewhere? Do you have a link to this??
  7. Aren't they illegal in most states? And can't they also have " a radar detector detector"?? Wouldn't it be better to have some sort of device(and I saw this on some website somewhere, haven't searched for it yet) where when a radar is pointed at the car, the radar cannot lock on and instead gets "error" message? It confuses the signal or something, or maybe this is for laser guns if there are any I'm not sure.
  8. Was the vehicle fully comp insured? If so, then the insurance company should fight for it on your behalf, and in the mean time(like right now) you should have gotten a quote for the damage and then had it assessed and then the assessor should have given you the green light to go and book it in with your insurance company's recommended smash repair place(see if the insurance guarantees the work if you go through a recommended repair place). Were your wheels listed on the insurance policy? For $1600? I would assume if you yes to both of those, then you should get $1600... not $750. Who offered you $750? The other person or there insurance?? With Fully Comp, they fight it for you, they pay for damage and then they get the money in court later(this is what I would assume). They get the money off the other person's insurance company. But who told you $750, if it was your insurance company, then I would tell them that you insured the wheels and they are worth 1600, provided you let them know of course. If it was the other person, or the other person's insurance that rang you and told you this, then I would not discuss it and simply give them your insurance claim reference number and tell them to talk to your insurance company, not you, as they should fight it, not you. Provided you are Fully Comp insured. My car goes in next week, after someone backed into me. So this is where I am getting my info from.
  9. Your price *includes* the fee, *if* I have read this site correctly... and 4 door autos are cheaper(read, $11-14K): [make]=Nissan&formdata[filter][model]=Skyline%20R33%20GTS-T&formdata[filter][chassis]=ECR33&formdata[filter][search]=t&formcode[objective]=search]http://www.meisei.com.au/index.htm?formdat...jective]=search
  10. Check the for sale thread. The other thing is, don't r33 gtst's only cost about 11K landed and complianced, that's minus any 'borkerage' fee from an importer? EDIT: DO NOT pay 23K for it, that's *way* too much, just thought I'd make that clear.
  11. Bit off topic, but how would one go about test driving a car that is for sale interstate?
  12. Yep on the highway you have more power so you'd have a higher top speed, ie the faster you go the more power becomes a factor over weight difference. Did that 180 with a front mount, exhaust and boost gauge beat you to 100km/hr though?
  13. With 217rwkw, do you get chopped by 180sx??? They are lighter so wouldn't need as much power to keep up.
  14. Just wondering are you sure it was one of the trucks and not someone else who may have been in the area at that time(for whatever reason)???? Also, I am thinking of being a baker what's it like to get up at 3am and work to 11(that's what I was told)?? You'd have to goto sleep at 8pm??
  15. I don't get it either, I'm from QLD and have never heard of anything like this???
  16. I thought that if you have an engineers certificate, than you can still get defected by police, however, you show that certificate at the test station, and then you should not have to pay the corresponding fine(s )?? Also, is it true that you cannot get defected if you drive in another state, or is it the same with P plates and speed limits, where for me to drive in nsw, I would not be allowed to do 100 till im off my ps, unlike in qld where I can do 100 right from the day I get my P's?
  17. I had a look at their cost calculator. There is a gtst vehicle in their stock for $14,900, with 94km on the clock, manual. When I typed in the Free on board cost(569 000 yen) I got: $15,599.73 and rounded to $15,750 But it says this: "Please note that the final Landed and Complianced price is an estimate only. In working out the final price, the following items are taken into account: FOB cost (for vehicles purchased from stock) Final auction price plus auction agent's fees (for vehicles purchased from auction) Shipping charges Customs and Qurantine charges (sometimes AQIS require extra cleaning to be carried out - this may cost around $80) Import duties & GST Luxury Car Tax (not applicable in most cases) Customs agent's fee Meiseis brokerage fee Towing from docks to compliance workshop Cost of compliancing (correct compliancing cost is automatically chosen for each vehicle) Cost of tyres (correct tyre cost is automatically chosen for each vehicle. 15 year old vehicles do not generally need new tyres, unless the tyres on the vehicle are worn or are not road worthy, eg. snow tyres)." In the cost calculator though it is included 4K for compliance, and import duties are included as well at 15% of FOB. Perhaps cars already here are over priced and when a buyer comes along they lower it alot? Also, the estimate includes: "Price includes A/C gas extraction and removal of freezer-dryer and valve prior to shipping. With certificate provided. Please note: All modifications must be removed and most aftermarket items have to be replaced with stock items prior to compliancing." Another question: Does one get these items back after the vehicle is complianced?
  18. http://www.meisei.com.au On this site there are R33 GTS-T skylines for <15K and also have <100K on the clock. Maybe I'm missing something, but howcome they are so cheap compared to the ones in the for sale thread??? There were 2 in the thread for >20K. Not only that, but alot of ones in the thread have >100K on the clock and cost 3-4K more. I know those are only price estimates on that site, but I doubt they'd under estimate the price by at least 1.5K!!! Let alone, 5K! I'm just wondering if I have missed something, can someone please fill me in? ie, thrashed? some tax I'm missing? Or is it generally alot cheaper to import[and wait 4 weeks] then to buy straight away? thanks Dizzo
  19. I'm not sure I understand what you guys mean by 'decent'? If you get the car inspected before you buy it, then isn't that enough to say it's 'as reliable' as another 33 with the same km's? I don't own a 33, but people on here have said if you buy one around the 100Km mark, check if it's had the timing belt changed or not. As for other cars, what about a 180sx? I'm sure there are turbo ones out there for <15K, they are lighter and have better fuel economy[4 cylinders]. They also have pop up headlights. Looks obviously is a matter of opinion. I know you said 33, but anyway this quote is from somone on the fff there was a thread comparing a r32gts-t vs a 180 without engines, just the car: http://forums.fastfours.com.au/viewtopic.p...der=asc&start=1 The quote is from page 2, looks like somoene got banned/deleted as 'guest' started the thread! Also, there was a thread on here recently about someone having a run with a gti-r.. although they are more towards the 18K mark. Once again have not owned any of these cars just talking from what I've read, but awd will win off the line, how long it stays in front depends on both cars and how many km/hr you get upto. Would another cheap option to buy a datto or someting, put an sr20 into it and you have a quick car for <10K?? Or something like that, where the really old car you can buy for under 2K, engine conversion for 5K? and then 3K for brakes and rwc... look like a piece of shit but it'd be a 12sec car. <--- That's just a guess it's probably way off but you know, crazy things like turbo awd engines into old brumby, looks shit but cost is cheap and is fast. Edit: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/classifie...=1&cat=2&page=1 s13 ca18det, for 11,500... another cheaper[compared to r33] option to consider.
  20. Or move to Queensland.
  21. Off topic, question for the people with 12.3, 12.5 and 12.9[stock]... Do any of you beat gtir's? I'm not talking about a rolling run, I mean at traffic lights(provided its safe)?
  22. I know in this case that he has replied back more than once and has been emailed more than once, but I think there are scenarios where the email address that it says it came from is also just picked up by a 'spider'.. ie its just an email address off someones msn list or something, so in some cases replying to that email address could be to an innocent person? Also if you do reply to spam doesn't that just confirm to the spammers that your email is still active, so they will keep spamming it??
  23. That's what I thought when I was reading it. I would personally[and would recomend] that you don't give your details out on the net! so easy to get conned. I remember someone was posting up gtrs for 5K or something[i probably exaggerated, oh well] for sale, and this person had just copied pics of someone elses gtr from a website and put it on ebay. And they want you to put a deposit on it to their bank account so they know you are interested... Although this is kinda the reverse, I dunno, I still probably wouldn't give out my bank details and address details or my name etc. to some stranger.
  24. Well here in QLD I'm pretty sure you can drive any car on your P's, and without the P's showing too. They are thinking about changing both of those though
  25. So instead of getting an r33 gtst I should get a GTi-R? I mean they are quicker right? And also will be about the same price and also will be quicker if it's wet too.
