Stirlo: Correct it is not a gtr, i just figured it came off a gtr as it is black and the gtr cooler i have on it (gtst) is black as well, just guessed they were one and the same. it is definately not plastic impul... and stirlo, yeah it does feel quite heavy to the touch although its connected so cant really tell, but if it is steel is it then safe to polish back? appreciate the replies

is there anything i can spray it with to make it rustproof. does this go for the front mount as well, cause i've seen some polished ones before?

the problems in the general auto discussion thread under "car gurus help urgent" the fix was simply an oil change with special penzoil which is cool but a bit annoying as i tried that first, before taking it there and it cost a hundred buck thats now down the drain oh well i'mn happy its better now though

yo all. is it ok to take off the black interccoler piping from a gtr and polish it up so its shiny silver,was it black for a reason or just a bit of stealth, ie does the black paint keep the temp more constant or something? i want to take it off and polish it along with the black intercooler itself, theres a tiny section that the paint has come off and it looks really nice and smooth. whats the best way, sandpaper?,paint thinner? see attached pic, ignore the red circle http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/at...achmentid=11457

for anyone living /Vorthside, i just picked up my car after a niggling problem from UNITED garage on corner of willoughby and mowbray rd. got to say i'm real happy and just wanted to reccomend him (John) for any mechanical work you might need. He works consistently on RX7's and i always see a few there, so he's no stanger to complicated turbo engines. hes a real good bloke and actually seemed to care and take care of me (although that is their way to pretend but i found him genuine) will be calling him tomorrow to express my thanks and will mention SAU. anyway heres the number if anyones interested. 99585896

UPDATE: took car to garage this morning and just called them to hear them say its fixed, he said he just did an oil change again but with a special PensOil Turbo oil that he imports from the US, as i said he works a lot with RX7's and he says its the goods for them. picking it up tonight and we'll see.

I did a stage 1 course a while ago through AAMI, they let you do it FREE if your parents are insured with them (or you are) Pretty self expainitary stuff but still useful for you to get a bit more of a feel for the car.

hey, i'm not sure if this has been brought up before, but wouldn't it be cool to have a section dedicated to peoples DIY threads. there are a few around (eg. Scibys oil thread) and they're really useful but they're lost on people who didnt see them originally and know to search for them
