ok i'm back. in answer to the questions battery related. i have a power FC and the first time the car didnt start, i opened up the batt voltage monitor, it was on 1.something when it did start up it shot up its usual 13-14 car usually sits from sunday night to friday night and sometimes 2 weeks (by then i'm having serious withdrawrals)never had a problem before. a mate was checking something out and showing his friend my gauges on monday and might have (i say might cause it could have been me the night before, but i dont think so) left the cabin light on from around midday till i got home and noticed it after 6pm. i dont think this could have drained the battery too much as i started her up at 6 that day to check if it cause a problem and all was sweet. Dino: I blew the link as i have before, cause i have a pivot TT in the ashtray and the wires are coming out a hole in the back but you cant actually unplug it so it makes t impossible to remove the ashtray, and if you pull it a cetain length out the power surges and the ignition fuse blows, its a long story but i was actually trying to destroy the ashtray so i could replace it with one i was going to pick up today from justjap and make a hole in the back of that one so the TT could be removed/replaced with velcro, if i want to take the console apat as i did want to the other day to fit the leather boots that jay95 had supplied me with a few months ago. I just completed an oil change with the mobil 10-30 which the dude at the garage down the road told me is perfect for the car. he works with a lot of turbo cars so he has a bit more experience than guys at most service stations (place in willoughby with all the rx7s there all the time). the ticking noise is definately coming from under the rocker cover and only while the engine is running, relative to engine revs, eg. pulling the throttle open makes it rev higher and tick faster. darron from justjap said it dosnt sound like it would be the lifters and i really hope its not as they are a couple of thou to replace. wow my wrists hurts from typing hope i made myself clear this time.

went out to start the car today and it just turned over. thought shit, this aint right, tried a few more times then pumped the accelerator while doing it and it fired up feeling Really sluggish and making a horrible chicking noise. went and had a look and figured it wasnt pinging or anything like that. Luckily i just moved and theres a garage just down the road, went and gave him a listen and he reckons it could be the lifters?? suggested an oil change which i am about to do now and said if it isnt that he'll have to pull it apart and have a look, maybe a loose rocker or something. just went out and bought the oil i have in now but have only done about 4K with it Mobil1 gold with supersynth 10w-30 i blew the main fusable link (ignition) on monday and replace that this morning before turning it over could that have anything to do with it. please help me does this sound familiar?

my belts squeek really loudly on cold start, (morning/havnt driven for a while) only started happening as soon as i got them replaced with a 100k service, called the mechanic and went out there and made them tighten the belts but it still does it, what do i do

sorry to hear mate there are pieces of shit out there and theres just not anything you can do about them. hope you get a good look and find him (probably stupid enough to go back there everynight or something)

well thought out mate. i will definately be there, luckily i dont need anything done to my car for a while but i'll be there with a helping set of hands and willing to learn for when the time comes. might actually see if anyone knows how to take off a front bar and fmic so i can polish it. everyone bring plenty of tools yeah?
