Hi, Is the power steering pump available? I will give you $50 collect. My number is 0401 896 663. Msg here, PM or call me. Thanks, Ben.

Hi, As I understand it the AFM tells the ECU how much air is coming into the car using a wire which is warmer (I guess) as less air comes in and cooler as more air comes in. Before the turbo the air would be at a largely ambient temperature, whilst after the turbo the air would be significantly warmer - would this make a difference to the reading of the AFM? Thanks.
-
I guess its a bit of a funny one. The STALLING SAGA thread seems to have divided people into two schools of thought - those who believe the AFM is the culprit and those who don't. I don't know the answer but I am fascinated that so many people have a common problem and no-one knows the answer!
-
Alot of people say they don't work / help - this could be because they are used out of context (Zoom's artilcle of the unit says that it is used to stop reversion which they describe as air coming forward out of the turbo and cooling the wire in the AFM (when cars have big turbos)? rather than to stop air leaking out through an atmo BOV) or as Beer Baron is suggesting all of the people suffering this problem have wider issues other than atmo BOVs. Do the EIDS work - they are quite different in concept to the HKS VPC Sydney Kid was talking about?
-
Why won't this solve a stalling problem?
-
I knew that I wouldn't have been the first to think of this! I don't know much about MAP sensore - just what I learnt from threads / articles about stalling and AFMs. SK - I guess that since the HKS unit is so old it wouldn't be applicable for an RB20? Also, how much of the AFM's resolution is committed to being on boost - I guess the question would be - when vacuum / boost is zero what is the output voltage of the AFM (I realise that it would be 0 if the car is not on).
-
Which bring us back to the THIS LOW RPM ENGINE STALLING SAGA POSSIBLY SORTED thread. http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...view=getnewpost I have found that when I plumb by BOV back everything is ok. When I go atmo it seems to turn pear-shaped. I don't mean to be rude -- I gues this thread would be more for believers that the AFM is the issue (I guess anyone whi has bough a HKS EIDS! : ) )
-
Hi, I had an idea and I assume that there is either a problem with it or it is already a product - if it is who makes it. Many believe that the stalling / backfiring that Skylines put on show is the result of non-plumbback BOVs and that the real cause is the use of AFMs on Skylines. My understanding is that computers using MAP sensors remove this issue - however this can seem expensive to some people. My idea is a MAP sensor that plugs into the plenum (as MAP sensors do) with the wiring plugging in to the the AFM plug. The unit will be calibrate so that the sensed pressure is converted into the same 0-5 volts that the computer gets from the MAF. Put simply, this unit is a MAP sensor that the car thinks is a AFM - removing the need for a AFM and removing the stalling, backfiring problems associated with non-plumback BOVs. Any thoughts?

Using An Rb26dett Power Fc On An Rb20det
armbrusb replied to armbrusb's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
The reason for me doing this would be one of flexibility. I currently have an R32GTS4 (RB20DET). A PFC would be a cool thing to have now, and it may offer me some flexibility in the future if I go with an RB30DET in my current car or buy an R32 GTR. -
Will an RB20DET Power FC work on an RB26DETT or will a Power FC for an RB26DETT work on an RB20DET? My guess is that it wouldn't - but does anyone know for sure?

Hi, Like most people with a GTS I am currently contemplating selling up and getting a GTR. I had never driven an R32 GTR before and was very excited about having a go on the weekend. The car in question was a '92 GTR with a Blitz exhaust and pod filters. Something pretty stock as that is the track I have chosen to go down. I believe that the car was running stock boost. Whilst I observed the obvious cosmetic differences to the car and realise that owning the legend is different to having a GTS I was relatively unimpressed with the vehicle's performance. It seemed to be about as quick as my GTS (not much quickler if at all). It was happier to lay down the speed than my GTS but I felt no real difference in the delivery - but I guess that I was surprised as to how little additional torque the car gave up. My car is a '93 R32 GTS4 with HKS Exhaust (front pipe back), VG30 turbo, Bosch VL Turbo fuel pump, GTR front mount, pod filter and tuned ROM - nothing crazy. Handling-wise I did not exepct any difference in the cars as the GTR has stock suspension (plus front and back strut braces) whilst my GTS has Bilstien shocks, King Springs, front and back strut braces and pineapples. To be fair the GTR felt very sharp and was a lot less bumpy! I guess that the point of my thread is to give other people my opinion, particularly if they are thinking of trading-up. The second purpose of the thread is for people to share their thoughts. My point is not to tell people how mad my GTS is - I would prefer it if someone could prove that I am a dreamer and convince me to spend the $20k difference in buying a GTR. Thanks.

Hi, I am selling this adaptor as I now use the BOV outlet on my GTR intercooler piping. In fine condition etc. Petersham NSW. 0401 896 663. Thanks, Ben.

Hi, I am selling a Sony WX-C570 Stereo / CD / Tape player - TAPE PLAYER DOES NOT WORK Good sounding unit with all of the usual features including 2x RCA and Bus In. The best feature of this unit is it's looks - with the use of a 'frame' around the stereo (plastic rectangle in the pics below) it sits absolutely fluch to the Climate Controller in the centre console looking very unassuming. I am selling it as I have just installed a single din triple guage holder in my R32 which means that there is not enough room for this now. Comes with: Stereo itself Plastic frame Unused harness (I had two for some reason) Instruction pamphlet Post, PM or call 0401 896 663. Thanks, Ben.

I just found it http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/in...showtopic=98507 Thanks

Cool. Do you remember which forum it was in?

Hi, I think it is time to get an R32 GTR. I figure that while I am getting one - I should get one I will love for ever. This means that it must be cool. Can anyone give me, or point me towards a summary of R32 GTRs including the differences between: GTR Standard GTR stuff GTR V-spec Brembo brakes GTR V-spec II Brembo brakes Lip spoiler BBS rims GTR N1 (did this exist for R32's) Nismo GTR I realise that the last two are probably dreams, though I thought I would ask for completeness' sake. Which versions came with the front splitter, front bumper (I thought these were N1) vents, different side skirts etc? Thanks.

Hi, Does a stock S15 head unit use the same plugs as an R32. I know that the R32 uses the same as a Patrol (which is a bit of pointless info). Alternatively is an S15 stereo a direct fit into a N16 Pulsar (SSS shape)? Any help would be great!

Hi, I am after a Nissan (Australia) single DIN stereo. Perhaps from an S14 or S15? Thanks. Got one from an S15 Spec R for $30.

Got one from I LIKE SAUSAGES - thanks.

Try I LIKE SAUSAGES - he has heaps of parts
