  1. rear view mirror.
  2. well when im on boost i get some blue smoke. on idle and low rev driving its fine. oil pressure is fine too. im not sure if its my rings or my valve stem seals. ive completely ruled out the new turbo as ive checked the cooler pipes etc. ill be doing a compression test tomorrow to see if its my rings (mind you ive rebuilt the motor with NEW rings). what should i be looking out for if its my valve stem seals?
  3. no worries mate. you could always go into a lebanese restaurant and ask for a vegetarian plate. they're the goods too! and get the mixed plate for yourself. its definitely the best restaurant food ive had in ages. theres a good one in bankstown that i go to pretty often. let me know if you're interested and ill get the address for you.
  4. 3 words... fe-la-fil its really 1 word but deserves 3. i could ask my mum for the recipe if its not on google.
  5. ive seen 2 of them running sr20's.
  6. bumpies
  7. yeah i know what you're saying but with a 2nd hand turbo you dont know how bad the wear is if an oil seal is blown. for example, my car would drop to almost 1 bar of oil pressure! (i took it off the road as soon as it did though). that was after weeks and weeks of driving with a known blown oil seal, out of nowhere i had almost 1 bar of oil pressure. on a friends car.. he was running quite rich as well as having a blown oil seal on his turbo, driving behind him it looked black. we only found out he had a blown turbo when we were replacing his fmic. so with a 2nd hand turbo where you dont know the condition of internally, its hard to really trust if its in good condition. so like i said, look for warning signs, and dont ever take chances with low oil pressure or YOU WILL GET STABBED.
  8. its still very risky. noone will be able to tell unless you're on the track and by the time you've done a lap it could be too late. when you get your turbo re-fitted, go for a drive, keep your eye on oil pressure, give it a little hit here and there, try get a mate to drive behind you to see if you get any blue smoke out your exhaust. then stop and check for oil in your cooler piping too.
  9. a blown oil seal will cause low oil pressure in your motor. one track day with the blown oil seal WILL result in a spun bearing on a tired motor.
  10. thanks for that, ill give him a call.
  11. my bad, i just checked. its 24mm. you wont do much damage to the water lines if you move them around, the one on the inside connects to a rubber hose which gives it some movement, and the one on the outside is connected to a bracket so you wont move it so far that it cant be pushed back.
  12. sweet, thanks rich. ill get it fixed sometime this week. i just find it so hard to find the time being so lazy and all.
  13. theyre water line bolts mate. you'll need a big ass wrench. the one i got here is (i think) 1" or 26mm. both should work. easiest way to get it off would be to keep the turbo connected to your exhaust (still bolted to your dump pipe), if you've got a solid mount for the exhaust under the car, loosen it so you can move the dump pipe with the turbo back and forth off the exhaust manifold. pull the turbo off the manifold, get the wrench and undo the bolts. then you can undo the dump pipe bolts.
  14. you went and you loved it!
  15. would've been a good tgif thread hey
  16. whos up for kebabs afterwards in my area?
  17. .... on my motorbike. here are some pics... it looks like the block is alloy, so what can i do? can i get it welded? does anyone know someone i can send it to who'll do it on teh cheap? cheers
  18. thats my christmas day. its a no-go for me.
  19. less coppers on the road in the west cause of NYE = less chances of getting caught. its pretty smart if you think about it, but dumb cause they actually got caught lol.
  20. rb25 and rb26 rods are interchangeable. the big and little end bearing sizes are the same, and so is the overall spacing between them (i.e. the throw will be the same and will have no effect on compression). rb26 rods are beefier though.
  21. shit. i was driving onto the m5 from revesby at 11:45pm on my way to church. on my way into town i saw coppers all over the river rd. my mum called me when they got home saying they saw a car like mine in a big hit. thats pretty farked up.
  22. no worries, im glad my advice paid off for you.
  23. i might be heading down on the 5th. still deciding whether or not to take the skyline.
  24. this seems to do exactly what the valve body upgrade does. but because it doesnt retard timing anymore, does that mean ill need to dyno tune my car again? with the new turbo it feels good. shifts are nice and quick, no more bouncing on redline before the gear changes. ive got an issue with it not holding 3rd gear when you're off the gas, this will suck around a track. when cruising in 3rd, im used to the car holding the gear but with this mod it drops to neutral when i let go of the accelerator... but that i can live with. also, does anyone have the wiring diagram for this section of the wiring?
  25. maybe ring up the people who make: -dremil drills they use small bearings -rc cars same they might be able to get you in touch with suppliers.
