  1. that sucks if you're willing to drive down to milperra, my mate owns a smash repairer, i can go with you to get a quote off him if you like.
  2. when you're commenting on the same car with the same capacity tank its fine.
  3. ive just calculated it by my last tank which i got 470k's when the petrol light came on (my car still needs a tune). i calculated 13.8L/100km, so thats pretty average for skylines. if you're looking for excellent fuel economy you've bought the wrong car. 480 is good out of a skyline. dont forget its a turbo 6cyl. you should only compare it to other cars in its class. i get approx. 350k's out of my lancer (40L tank), and 300ish k's out of my m3 (60L tank, but its running an un-tuned EMS computer). if you want something that wont eat up all of your petrol money you should think about buying a weekday workhorse.
  4. ive got one in my garage somewhere. im in bankstown.
  5. i saw HELPME last night too, i was driving my m3. we had a little squirt down parra rd... he needs a bigger turbo
  6. i just have a pod filter. im installing a cai soon using the spare hole under my pod with a pipe leading to a space in my front bar. should be sweet.
  7. he didnt give me one showing my a/f it was a jammed turbosmart, full of crap and wouldnt boost past 12psi no matter how much i opened it up... untill i blew my motor. ive got a turbotech now and it holds boost even better.
  8. i THINK the only difference is the safc2 has more correction points and a nobby thing instead of the buttons. safc should be fine for your mods. i only bought the safc2 because i wanted the newest one out at the time, not for any real performance gain. here's my dyno graph:
  9. my fuel economy went from 350km/tank to 450km with a decent power increase... and autos use more fuel than manuals. nothing beats bullshit comments like proof
  10. they look similar to te37s
  11. they are bush bearing turbo. 210 would be pushing it. ive seen 205. and ive also seen 270+ with the use of nitrus (2rismo).
  12. last i heard the x-force turbo backs were 799 from justjap. $350 for a 30min job is a bit too hardcore for my liking.
  13. sure do. im going back for a touch up tune which is consting me around $100.
  14. haha yeah.. when i got my car running again my safc locked. it says i need a password to look into settings and stuff. it wasnt there before the rebuild.. maybe the long period without power did something. i'll get them to fix it when i go for the tune. btw.. if they only tune 6/12 points and you've got a nice looking power curve then i dont see the problem. if your power curve looked a bit fruity after using 6 points then i'd be worried. it'll allow you to use your safc when you upgrade fuel pump/turbo etc where you'd actually need all 12. but anything above 230-250kw then i'd start thinking pfc.
  15. there is a sensor near your rear diff that sends the rpm and speed signal to your ecu. check if thats connected first.
  16. f**k! there isnt much more to state other than the obvious.. you snapped 2 valves and they stayed around to play. i wouldnt be suprised if your bores are scratched.. hopefully they'd only need a light hone. the problem is mainlyl in the head. you'd want to replace all of those valves. you might get away with just replacing those 4 but you'll have no guarantees that the same thing wont happen again. get the head serviced too. while you've got it all apart you might as well do bearings and rings.
  17. i tend to keep my eyes on the road while my car revvs out.
  18. wouldnt have a clue. im going in for a touch up tune very soon so i'll ask then.
  19. hitman was good. he even gave me time (and tools) to re-gap my spark plugs.
  20. what does a manual valve body do to the auto boxes? and how much did the box rebuild cost you if you dont mind me asking?
  21. happy birthday
  22. cost me 200 at hitman a year ago.
  23. could just be an idling problem. make sure you're at operating temp when doing this and check all idle related components are working properly. go through and search the DIY section on how to fix these yourself.
  24. oOOoohh you're good!! youve done this before havent you?
