maybe you need to run hotter plugs. octane boost will give a brown layer of crap over your spark plug tip. it will eventually need to be replaced but it wont immediately effect a decent set of spark plugs.

its NOT secure at all. i only park there if im not going to be long. its not on angel pl, its the street on the next left after you turn onto it from george st. i wouldnt recommend parking there anyway unless you were really desperate. and i mean REALLY.

yeah i guess you're right. i wont bother with the crank. the reason why it stuffed up in the first place was it was tuned for 12psi, and while i was doing a burnout at the beginning of my run im pretty sure it boosted (spiked) up to around the 18psi mark. im getting an ebc after i fix it. me and my brother in law will be doing the assembly, hes a mechanic. ill be taking the engine out next week and i dont really trust myself to do the hone myself, i'd rather someone else did it. ill definately get back to you if i need it to be bored out. thanks mate.

i used 95 octane + octane boost when ultimate wasnt available. it showed alot less knock than 98 so i guess it works.

theres a small street i turn off of george st. its called angel pl (i think.... look it up) then first left and you're behind some buildings of george st. i park there if im going somewhere local at night. its free and i haven't gotten a parking ticket yet, or had my car stolen.. its not very secure!

ive decided to repair my rb25 block instead of going with an rb30 block. im looking for a shop in syd that will hone my block by hand so i can repair my bottom end by just replacing that piston thats screwed so i can get my car back on the road asap. in the meantime ill be building an rb30/26 slowly. i dont want to do it now as i need my car for work and uni, and theres more work involved in the rb30/25 than i expected. so does anyone have any recommendations on anywhere i can go that will machine my block and balance my crank? thanks guys

good to hear your ok dude. i doubt it'd be a write off but you could probably get a panel beater to over price the parts and panels (go somewhere thats notoriously expensive like queen st. smash) if you're handy with tools you could probably repair it yourself. so get a quote, get them to write you a cheque, and then dont go back to the place, just buy the parts and do it yourself. you'll make a fair amount of $$. but you wont have any kind of warranty if you decide to do that.
