i can make up abbreviations and pretend i know stuff too... LOL. with the throttle closed while you perform a compression test your pistons will try draw air in while the inlet valves are open and cause resistance against the rings (vacuum) while the motor turns. so if the motor begins its compression stroke with -10psi your compression test will show up 10psi lower. pretty much what Paul said but less technical. NTP is a term they use in physics, here we'd just use "0 vacuum" as the air does not need to be at a 'normal' temperature and the air entering the combustion chamber isnt actually pressurised. it is the chamber that is causing the pressure.

my view is to give the govt what it is owed. how you produce your product or service is up to the director's ethics and view on legislation. going back and forth about each others' ethics is silly as some people do it by the book and some people create their own. in my opinion there is nothing wrong with either as long as you are within the law although making your own book always seems to produce more cash flow. for eg. i am in property development. labour is paid in a 100% cash in hand basis and 70% of sub contractors are paid via a line of credit. avg turnover is around 4-5mil per year, actual profit is usually around 15-20%. on properties we sell we always pay tax and our returns are always claimed on minimals. the 2nd financial year of the company's operation (8yrs ago) we got audited and it was found that we were owed $14,000 from unclaimed items on our return. we have never been audited since and we still claim items back on minimals. this is how we are comfortable in doing it and it works for us as a small business. p.s. a good accountant is worth the money you pay.

think about it.. its $2000 you'll only pay once now that you have all the parts. my car has gone from 50mm off the ground, full veilside kit, 5" cannon muffler, bov, 20" rims bla bla to; 100mm off the ground (just), 400r sideskirts (much higher), titanium exhaust with silencer on ALL THE TIME (fucking shit), dose pipe (no bov) and either stockies or 17" enkies. and this has been over around 7-8 lots defects over 5yrs. you learn to either live with it or adjust. time to learn how to adjust i think, mate.

it also matters on what you classify as a 'task'. if you are in security you can classify 'an entire contract' as a task, or if in construction you can classify 'all labouring work' as a task, or if you're in hairdressing you can classify 'all cutting of hair' as a task. or if a mechanic you can classify 'all rego checks' as a task. the law leaves a lot of items to be interpreted as 'a reasonable man'. i think it is reasonable to assume that tasks around your business can be subcontracted 'indefinitely' especially if someone offered you that service. there is the legal way and then there is the legal way. as long as you can show reason to your way of thinking of how a reasonable man interprets the law then there is nothing to worry about.

Skyline R33 Gt-t Burns Extreme Amounts Of Oil
SECURITY replied to Iceman22's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
if the turbo is shagged you will need to replace it anyway. you could spend $250 and throw on any turbo to see if the problem goes away - but then you would be stuck with a standard turbo. most turbos have play in the shaft, which direction was there play? in and out or side to side? side to side is OKAY if its really small, like 0.5mm. in and out is not okay. its when they use words like EXCESSIVE play is when you should get worried. my opinion is that its the turbo, its usually the first thing to go on a high km engine. so just get it replaced and go from there. -
bikes need everything they can get to be noticed, especially when they have zero lights on the sides and even a small nudge could mean the end of someones life. i've just gotten flush front blinkers on mine so when i change lanes my indicators are noticeable from the sides. my rears are now LED and i still dont feel safe. im going to chop my exhaust so its a little louder too. and have you ever heard stories of OEM parts breaking for no reason? what about the parts that come from china? ive heard LOTS of stories of things like tie rod ends breaking apart - but OEM parts have been built to a standard. aftermarket parts dont, and we're talking about the bad quality stuff because its not like the govt will ever say "only tein, koni, buddyclub and whiteline suspension parts are allowed". its about liability but getting an engineer certificate counters this. if you've got quality parts and its been installed correctly you will pass as well as have a safe and legal car with upgraded suspension. obviously this goes for most other mods.

even if you do go after them for the back pay their argument would be that you falsified records to get more money from them. security companies do have guys on the books but its a very small percentage, maybe 20-30% are on the books and denying that you did more then 1 shift is too easy. when there is cash paid there is no real evidence that you were ever there.

lets hook it up. i finally killed someone woooo!

when i got red stickered all they did was check that the defects were fixed up, you dont have to get a blue slip, you just have to go to a place that does blue slip inspections. anyone that tells you otherwise is either looking for a bribe to pass you or has no idea what they are doing. i mean, if they defect you for ride height and make you do a full inspection, why arent the laws to just defect you for nothing in particular but make you do a full inspection? does anyone get my logic?

i found my install cd's after being boxed up for 3yrs.. anyone still play this? i just got steam, not sure what else i need. i kind of suck at it but wouldnt mind playing people who are shit at it too lol. im sick of getting owned by everyone online!!

yea and you subtract the 5% loss due to velocity funneling through your intercooler then you add the % increase in injector size, calculate how many times you've kicked your tyres in the last week then multiply that by .255 because thats how wide your tyres are. simple.

most likely your turbo. luckily for you they go for around $250-300. if you're good with a spanner you should get away with it quite cheaply. while looking at the engine the PCV is the BLUE plastic bit on the left hand side on the left rocker cover, it has a small pipe in the shape of an S that goes from the rocker cover to the plenum. spray some WD40 or drop some engine oil so you dont damage the rubber grommet when you try and wedge the PCV out. -
ive got plenty of first hand experience from hills motorsports and as per forum rules i cant mention anything here. PM me and i will tell you what almost 30 people from 3 forums have told me. i havent even gone further than nissansilvia and supraforums.

Tuning Shops Locking Your Ecu's Tune
SECURITY replied to NW007's topic in General Automotive Discussion
but the fact is that if the consumer requests the password you MUST give it to them unless you have a patent on the intellectual property. you cant just deem something you produce as intellectual property without having a legal backing. -

unless the tuner owns a patent for their intellectual property - then by law they can't lock ecu's based on their feeling. you cannot patent artistic creations, mathematical models, plans, schemes or other purely mental processes. -

congrats for missing the entire conversation and making an irrelevant point about it when the debate was done and dusted over a week ago. im guessing you are the kind of guy who sits in the back of the crowd and when someone says something you say...... YEAH! move on buddy, your opinions arent valued around here. -
Tuning Shops Locking Your Ecu's Tune
SECURITY replied to NW007's topic in General Automotive Discussion
i know that hitman in sydney locked my SAFC but he gave me the password when i asked for it. this might also be something they do to cover themselves - if they leave the tune wide open then you play with it and your motor blows because of the tune - they are liable as there are some dodgy characters who will just revert to the original tune... and this tarnishes their reputation. but once you ring up and ask for the password they record when you did in their diary and from then on YOU are liable for the tune because on the xx/xx/xxxx @x o'clock you asked for the password to unlock the ecu. quite fair i think. -
corinne's underwear.

i dont think they'd really notice. i'd spray the inside of the bonnet anyway, they would just have to notice the reo on the underside of the bonnet isnt there - most (if not all) wont pick up on that.
