  1. If your maps are all at 0 adjustments then you shouldnt have a problem. download and run the file below, its got 0 adjustments and is set up for your rb20. as long as you've wired in the EMU right it should work 100%. I've also set up data logging so you can look at all of the right parameters when diagnosing problems. r32_r34_map_no_adj.zip
  2. auto's can use manual ecu's. only difference is the timing retard before the gears change - which on a performance car isn't desirable anyway. my car is auto and ive used a mines chipped ecu off a manual and it ran 100x better than i could imagine.
  3. yeah dont trust security guards because they have friends.
  4. you need to know your powers as a citizen before you go ahead and do something like this because if you actually go ahead and do something like this you will get ACA and TT on your back. you'll get questions like "well why didnt you just make a police report?" and you're going to be there sounding like everyone else does on those shows saying "the cops dont do anything, they're this they're that ra ra ra". your credibility goes out the window and it becomes a story about vigilante hoons accusing random people for stealing cars. if the would-be thief got a good lawyer he could easily make it out to look like the keys were handed to him then he was jumped by guys who video taped the entire thing... then your asses get sued.
  5. 2500km is around 1500km too much if you're doing the usual street driven run-in. the idea is to bed the rings in pretty much around the first 300km of driving. what i do is not to do ANY highway driving, just do normal driving while accelerating from each set of lights going from a 30-40% higher than usual take-off speed then driving as per usual thereafter till you come to a stop again. its also important that your AFR's arent rich during run-in as not to get bore wash which also causes your rings not to bed in properly. personally i only do the full 1000km run-in because my mechanic says so - i dont want to give them any reason to void my warranty. any good tuner that actually gives a crap about your car can run your car in on the dyno. its always good to get a few k's (around 500km) of street driving just to sort things out before the final tune but 2500-3000km is over doing it. if the motor is going to fail because of wrong bearing clearances then it will fail well within the first 200km of driving, or on the dyno when its being run in.
  6. good reading here: http://www.pumaracing.co.uk/ http://www.sdsefi.com/techform.htm
  7. Turbz RB-25 it shits me to tears on how many social retards post crap in other peoples for sale threads. He probably didnt know what they were going for on ebay, and some dont even like buying off ebay because of all the scams and risk of not getting a warranty if the item stuffed up. not buying off ebay has its benefits.
  8. ignition chip (which stops the r34 neo coil packs frying) is included as it says in his first post. you've also got knock control with the emanage. there is a way to wire in the knock sensors to an auxiliary input and have this retard timing if it senses knock above a certain reading. Trent (URAS) is an emanage maestro, he'll be able to point you in the right direction. good luck with the sale mate.
  9. yep. if you're not careful then you'll cop it sweet.
  10. its an engineering issue. as long as you get the install and get an engineering certificate then they cant defect you (well they can, but they will most likely leave you alone). the EPA are another issue all together. you can get defected but not EPA'd, or vise versa. the EPA are only interested in emissions. there are a few tuners out there who can give you an EPA-friendly tune to get you out of trouble but it comes at a cost.
  11. how long have they been sitting without use? what weather have they been exposed to?
  12. a second hand engine will mot likely be in better condition than the one you've currently got. anyone who sells you a 2nd hand engine usually gives a 3-6 month warranty. during that time you can test oil pressure and compression + leak down and if its shagged then they replace or fix it. the worst thing you could do when on a budget is throw it at some mechanic as 100% of the time they will tell you things like - oh we need to replace the timing belt, tensioners, idlers, engine mounts, hoses bla bla bla and the bill ALWAYS ends up $1000 over what they originally quoted you.
  13. insurance wont cover you if you accept money for driving people around. how about now?

  19. its not the maintenance cost you should be worried about, its the risk that your insurance company will void your warranty if they find out you accepted money for driving people around.

  21. Mark has my car right now fixing my rb30, its tucked away next to the dyno room. just go ahead and get him to do an rb30 conversion for you, you might as well. for an extra $1000 you'll have a much better motor.
  22. i installed an 044 with an earls fitting on the end of it and it sat perfectly in the r32 fuel tank while using the stock pump bracket. it was the least hassle install ive ever done.
