  1. think i might come down to this, i want to see how the new setup is running off a road tune.
  2. theyre down the road from me.. it looked fine, didnt look like it was damaged at all.
  3. it doesnt change the difficulty of getting the bolt out whether its in the car or not, its just a b!tch to get to.
  4. the good thing is people now know that they will get caught if something like this happens again, this thread + all of the attention its gotten is a security system in itself.
  5. i got $250 for a bare rb25 block around 2 years ago.
  6. just go to his work. he works at punchbowl maccas last i heard, give them a call, ask for him.. but he'll probably answer or hit him up with a PM. he's usually around.
  7. +1 for not seeing the bolt at first. i almost levered the bolt off with the head because i was so damn frustrated.
  8. it was too well organised from what i see. breaking into both workshops, stealing those parts and getting a clean getaway doesnt happen like in the movies. a job that big and that well organised must have either been organised from someone within the business or a pro. the amount of detail and balls needed to pull something like that off is amazing that most wont even realise. from what i've read and know about the place you will need at least: 1. weeks of staking out the place for traffic for the right time - most businesses dont get deliveries on sundays but some will at least get traffic, they picked the perfect time by the sounds of it. 2. a truck OR a workshop close by and a couple of utes (moving + storing the stuff will be shit) + 5 boys - if it was me doing the job i'd get the least amount of people involved as possible, too many useful/wanted parts to let too many people know of, which sucks for you guys. if it was a workshop close by i'd be looking for workshops that were closed today. 3. knowledge of your operations - this is huge. anyone getting in and out efficiently knew how you guys run which is why i'd be looking at someone who either works or worked there. sorry if this seems rash on my part but anything you guys can think of that is suspicious will help the investigating officers and keep them working because once they run out of leads - thats it, investigation over.
  9. a non turbo r32 and r33 are in the shitbox range. you can pick one up for around $5,000 and for what they are they do get around better than a corolla, integra etc. the real problem is when you actually consider turbo'ing your n/a skyline after you get off your p's.
  10. ive got to get one! for all the nsw people - all i can think of is macquarie pass.
  11. http://www.emanageforums.com/ everything you need to know about the e-manage. URAS is also an emanage pro. he has a workshop in melbourne so if you need anything i'd definitely be asking him. i even plan on driving my car down to melb to get him to tune my car.
  12. SAME THING happened when my journal bearing hiflow from a 'trusted' trader shit itself. i took it to GCG and they pretty much said "yep.. its farked". department of fair trading told me to take it to court after they contacted the trader. i took mine back to the trader and they said it was fine. put it back on my car and it was still farked. after i took it to the 3rd party, GCG (at the trader's request), i was told that for sending it to them i had voided my warranty.... wtf!! i know what you're going through mate. lots of dodgy traders out there. ring the department of fair trading. they wont really get much done but the courts will at least appreciate that you've tried to explore another avenue of resolution before taking it to court. PM me the workshop name too please.
  13. even if you ask justjap themselves, they'll tell you to use thread tape on pretty much all of their parts that are meant to hold oil pressure. ive tried the justjap oil pressure gauge which leaked until i used thread tape on it, same with the oil cooler kit i had.
  14. bingo. get under the car and look closer. i suggest doing the "block the intake, then hook up a compressor to a vacuum hose" trick to figure this one out.
  15. congrats steve. looks good. wheres my thanks ya bastard? i help put the engine stand together that day aaron copped a crow bar to the face.
  16. you have 3 months after your rejo expires till your plates have to be returned to the RTA. as far as i know cops cant take your plates. technically they arent allowed to touch your car (literally) unless they are suspicious that you are trafficking drugs and the like. (read the police powers act) i even think this applies to being defected - they cant open your bonnet themselves, they have to 'ask' you to do it. the RTA requests them to be returned via a letter in the mail. not a special devision of the police department who drive around and deliver number plates.
  17. maybe the nsw police ombudsman? or maybe even the sheriff's department? sorry mate, just having a stab in the dark here.
  18. hey Trent, are you still using the emu to tune this? would the #9 be better suited to an rb30? i might be making a trip down to melb soon. i might swing past your shop for a tune if you're free when the time comes. plus i still need to figure out how to completely remove the MAF!
  19. in NO way was i shit stirring. i commented and asked questions on things i would've liked answers to. i'll admit that i didnt have any intention on attending the next track day but after the questions were answered and explained it made sense and i made that clear. i then changed my mind about attending an SAU track day after the differences of the two track days were noted. as i said, my car is nearing completion and i'm looking to hit the track soon. my posts were actually ON TOPIC. the below posts were the ones who initially made it off topic which dragged me into it so if you were going to hand out a warning for being off topic then i'd hand one out to Nick (sorry Nick lol) and yourself. Joe for president.
  20. i dont even see how what i'm doing is shit stirring. i've always asked legitimate questions and made truthful comments. the least you guys could do is talk it out like men.
  21. glue could take off your paint if the tyre placard needed to come off for whatever reason. sticky paper wont be laminated but it wont damage your paint. what you could do is get the stuff you used to cover your school books in, its that plastic sticky stuff that comes in rolls. i forget what its called.
  22. they just tear if you try rip them off other cars. just go to office works and see if they've got sticky printer paper.
  23. abo bob, i believe you only read my posts and not the replies that followed. if this is what you did then you are either stupid or belligerent. i do believe this was a chance to call me an idiot because if you read the entire thread, which im sure you would've being a moderator and all - you wouldn't call someone rude and belligerent without the facts. so which was it? did you not read the rest of the thread or did you call me an idiot, rude and belligerent for the sake of it? and for the record, i didnt ask why your track days were 160% of the price if you were trying to make money off people. it was a simple question that needed an answer. i really dont care what you do with the $12,000+ of the sau nsw club money. all of the points you raised were genuine questions and if you were doing your job as a moderator you would have either: 1. answered them without the attitude. 2. read the entire thread and saw that your input was not needed. 3. not called me names after 'you know what' happened. you're smarter than that. i'm not here to start fights. i used to be involved in all of this crap but at some point the club turned from a place where i could log in and chat to friends which then lead me to become a member, to a place where i had to watch what i say because the mods/admins have something against speaking your mind. lets just lay it all out into the open here. the dramas that happened in the nsw section caused the whore threads to be closed. i think that was actually pretty dumb because people will always, no matter what you do, have dramas with each other. its the way of the world and even the first matrix couldnt work without it. closing it caused a loss of a few members paying for membership, some still do but where are they now? would you rather they still paid for membership and not be a part of the social group? something is telling me the answer is yes. you may say that the club and the forum are two separate things but the reality of it is the forum is the reason to why people become members of the club. think about it. joe for president.
