  1. Go into Map Selection in the paramter settings (click on the little blue car icon) then tick the box with boost cut feature infront of it. do some data logging and log at which RPM and which Voltage the AFM is hitting the cut. look at the voltage just before it cuts out and type that into its corresponding RPM in the boost cut window. make every other box after that 5.1v. so what you'd do is if it was kicking in at 3.85v @ 4500rpm is: Boost Cut Feature 500 1000 1500 2000 2500 3000 3500 4000 4500 5000 5500 6000 6500 7000 7500 3.8--3.8---3.8---3.8----3.8----3.8----3.8----3.8---3.8---5.1---5.1---5.1---5.1---5.1--5.1 log data till you get it right.
  2. people call boost cut different things. boost cut is hitting a higher afm voltage at a lower rpm i think it was around 3.8v @ 4000rpm and 4.1v @ 5500rpm (i think). programs like the emanage, safc and remaps have the paramters to overcome this.
  3. Ahmed insists on trying before committing to anything.
  4. hey mate, im interested in the full set of rb30 pistons + rings. would you post to syd?
  5. all girlfriends remain the property of Ahmed's Backyard Engineering Pty. Ltd. till all accounts are paid. Ahmad's Backyard Engineering Pty. Ltd. is not liable for any costs/damages/pregnancy to girlfriends while in their posession.
  6. well skylines can use 300zx wheels as they both have the 114.3 x 5 pattern, but im not 100% if they go the other way. i guess you could use a spacer if you had to.
  7. dude.. seriously. you dont turn reasonable people into crims by stating the obvious. someone who wants to get into your car WILL get into your car, they wont search the forums to find out how. i mean, i can tell you how to break into each and every car without damaging anything. anyone in 'the business' will already know.
  8. its an r34, its not that old to have things start breaking... yet. get a compression test and check that its running 100% if the rest of the mechanicals check out too - then go for it. you never make your money back on modded cars so i recommend selling yours and buying the modded one. it will save you money depending on how much the price adjustment is. its only because red goes faster. the paint starts to peel from all the G's you pull. Ferrari have formulated a special kind of red that doesnt peal. look into it.
  9. dude!! you've come the closest to seeing these guys in action! surely you could at least remember the car? or anything noticeable about it. they've hit a few people's cars from here so any info would be great.
  10. it was ahmad from backyard engineering.
  11. when they run out of money they'll start giving fines for it. as for the engineering certificate, it depends on what kind of cop you get. if he wants to be a prick he'll defect you anyway. if he knows what hes doing - he'll just go through the list and make sure it all still complies (i.e. he makes sure you didnt get an engineering certificate for a different setup).
  12. These are sexy looking rims, especially when the guard is eating most of your rubber. here are some pics of what they look like on, let me know if you want me to take them down mate.
  13. western suburbs of what state?
  14. i didnt know that, thanks for clearing that one up for me mate.
  15. thats ok, ive been putting up your name and number up in mens toilets in kings cross. whats funny is it was already up there on most of them. then i realised i should be putting it up in the girls toilets. that would REALLY shit you.
  16. swap your CAS with a known working one.
  17. thats normal of a series 1.5. no igniter pack. they're basically s2 engines in s1 bodies.
  18. low: 1.5bar high: 7-8bar
  19. ill get you the address and contact number of the guy on tuesday bud. sounds like someone got your details off a business who you may have bought something from and given your details to. they sell your details off for extra cash. i never give my real details out to anyone. i usually just give them adams name and nicks address.
  20. yeah dont even bother trying to run it without doing the initial setup, like choosing 6cyl, throttle type, afm type etc. download the manual from somewhere and follow the steps. its pretty easy to get running. there was a DIY thread on the safc install, compare it to see if you done the wiring right too.
  21. worn (really f**ked up) valve guides will give you the same kind of symptoms. if you want to check if its the head of pistons, try this: hook up a hose with the same size fitting as the spark plug hole to it on one end, and a fitting for a compressor to the other. connect it up and run the compressor and see where the air comes out of. you'll need the piston to be at BDC all valves are closed (i think theyre closed at BDC, check your cam lobes as you spin the motor). then sit and listen to where the air is coming out of. if its your pistons it will probably blow out the dipstick, if its the head you will probably hear air hissing out of the head somewhere. if you cant find one, i have that same size fitting for the spark plug hole somewhere from when i was doing my valve stem seals. let me know if you need to borrow it and we'll organise something.
  22. im pretty sure he did that mod to his intake and it worked. it must have been sucking closed.
