  1. what advantages are you seeing with the GTR? as far as i can tell its newer, is 4wd.. and thats about it. yours looks immac. im sure it will go like crazy and you will not be afraid to drive it or put it on a track. i guarantee that you will be afraid to do either in the r34 GTR. dont think about status for a second. think about the enjoyment you'll be getting from either car then choose which one you'll actually benefit from most. r34's are becoming more and more common. but a custom built car, built to the way you want it is worth a bit more than what an r34 gtr could give you. and dont forget, to get it as quick as your r33 you'll need to spend all of that money/time again.
  2. i heard that the reason they kicked the r32's out of bathurst wasnt because they were turbo, not because they're 4wd.. it was because they kept spinning bearings. p.s. LOL
  3. there you go. found you one
  4. yep, those ones. oil squirters are a bitch to do custom. you have to find the oil galley then tap into it, then drill and tap the hole for the nut to go into, as well as the little circle thing for the squirter arm to fit into. just get a bare turbo block for 250-ish. or even go rb30
  5. wreckers
  6. if its more of a tick tick tick noise then it will be your injectors = normal. tap tap tap is lifters = normal.
  7. you did. others didnt.
  8. i wasnt having a go at you mate. its the other losers i was talking to.
  9. thats f**ked. if you catch these f**kers make sure you get a nut back.
  10. boom tsh.
  11. guys, get a life. its his car, he'll do whatever the f**k he wants to it. if you want to block the bov off, take your BOV off and trace the shape of its flange and bolt holes onto a rolled out coke can. cut it out and shove it between the flange and the crossover pipe (where it sits) and tighten.
  12. i bet ticketek are selling some of these tickets themselves at the 200% hike on ebay. thats what i'd do if i owned ticketek.
  13. to install a boost controller you only need: boost controller boost feed wastegate/actuator vac hose you can block off the line of the boost controller going to the 'boost line', and T the new boost controller into an existing vacuum hose. no dramas there. it doesnt matter which vacuum hose you T it into, just as long as the hose isnt too long.
  14. if you do an oil + filter change before the new turbo goes on it will take around 20-30secs of cranking before you see oil pressure. if not, then its as nismoid says. you have to crank then release to get a reading back off the standard oil pressure gauge.
  15. thought i'd update mine: only changes since last time is a vg30 hiflow and a shit tune emanage ultimate. power is at 203kw. new 1/4 is 13.8 on shitty street 215's.
  16. the shit house thing about going out for the first time, is the very first time you pull. with the same setup i went from 15.5 to 14.0 on the same night. then another time i pulled a 13.8. dont let your first run phase you. its a learning process, so just get out there with some sticky tyres and dont be scared to burn that clutch
  17. yeah mate, i've still got the auto box. doesnt look like ill be going manual any time soon the emu actually has a setting (i havent played with yet) that lets you get rid of the ignition retard between gear changes for the auto box. once i figure out how to adjust this, ill post it up. auto shifts dont change at all with the EMU as you still retain the factory computer. when i first got the emu i was hitting R&R with the hiflow. i adjusted a few settings myself so it wouldnt till i got it tuned. i had it tuned by a shit house 'motor racing' (hint hint) workshop in rockdale who had no clue on how to tune the emu. i was actually there showing him how to use some of the features of the emu so he could actually tune it FFS! the graph was so shit. dont go there (pm me to find out where). my next option will be autosports engineering in kirrawee.
  18. or swap the parts yourself, you pussy.
  19. with your current mods, your max power will be around 180kw (no exhaust mentioned). splitfires wont be needed. edit: just get some decent spark plugs, part no: BCPR6ES, then gap them down to .8mm or lower. i'd definitely look into getting a turbo back exhaust to push your possible power to 200kw. you wont need a decat (illegal in most states and is a hefty fine if you get busted). so, what you'd get before the tune: -fuel pump (040, 044, walbro or nismo) -exhaust: get a split dump pipe, or a split dump/front pipe in 1. hiflow cat. and any 3" cat back exhaust you like. -you wont need a fuel reg. turbo elbow isnt an aftermarket item. its a standard feature on your standard turbo downpipe = dump pipe (already mentioned). hit the Queensland section of the site and do a search. i'd keep the boost standard till you get an exhaust. you'll usually gain around 3psi from a nice flowing exhaust. if you turn the boost up to 12psi now, then get an exhaust you'll run 15psi without noticing. so just install the boost controller, leave it at around 9-10psi and get the exhaust installed. if you hit above 12psi then you'd want to turn it back. i wouldnt run 12psi constantly on the standard turbo either.
  20. im not sure when the boost controller is supposed to come out. thats a question you'd want to ask Trent (URAS) as hes got some insider info. i recommend it because it will be like the hand controller for the PFC. you'll be able to read all of your engine stats (like water temp, knock etc.) as well as adjust boost. theres no harm in buying the A/F input harness but i'd ask your tuner if he needs it. otherwise you'll have it for no reason.
  21. you can use any kind of boost controller you like. but i'd wait for greddy to release their control unit for the EMU, which im expecting to be like the E-01 and be a control unit/boost controller in one (the e-01 only works with the emanage blue as a control unit). you wont need the A/F Input Harness unless you're keen to tune it yourself. its an extra option which lets you tune with a target A/F map by connecting a compatible A/F meter to the emanage. all of the harnesses you need come in the 'Harness Kit' you mentioned. the rest sounds right
  22. hey Trent, any news on when the hand controller unit will be released?
  23. try using a strong magnet which you can get from jaycar i think.
  24. happy bday champ
  25. happy birthday and all that.
